19:55 wheel bearings actually have a strict preloading procedure. Typically, you are supposed to torque the nut to a specified torque, and then do something like back it off a specified number of turns after having spun the wheel a couple times to help things settle. I really, really recommend finding the specs for this car and doing it the long way. The bearing life will thank you.
@simplydennis93857 ай бұрын
some old vw have the same Knuckles on the rear end and from what i learned this is mostly how you adjust them. Needing a bit of play and spinning freely.
@rekineke36927 ай бұрын
Tighten the bearing nut all the way without using any force, until its selfstop, pull it back 90 degrees and check whether there is any play in the bearing, if it is OK, install the screw securing pin.

The feelings what I had when I dropped my Civic a year ago with friends, and then that feel, like you have another car... A more comfy but better in corners, everything.. really great 🥹🥹❤️ Greetings from Hungary for all of You ❤. Never stop doing that.. you add hope for us all to not stop living our life.

You’ve probably noticed that the rear arch is closer to the tyre on the right side than the left and the lower you go the worse it becomes, you’ll need an adjustable panard rod to correct it, shouldn’t be too expensive but will be worth it 👍🏻

I would definitely recommend some new front hub bearings and races. And on reassembly following the proper procedure. Especially since these cars are known to have front bearing issues with wider wheels like that.
@Adiko7 ай бұрын
19:25 you should actually use the torque wrench on this one, possibly even cheaper than two sets of these wheel bearings (which will most likely wear a lot faster now)

that axle bearing is the same style on old vw (mk1) play with it, find specs if possible and recheck it a couple of times, i had to play with them for couple of drives on my mk1 jetta until i found the sweetspot, they were either heating up or starting to have a bit of play after a short drive, but please find the patience for it, the bearing will be thankfull, quiet and last a lot longer.

Yoooo did you put those red NRCA roll centre adjusters back in with the new BCs? Just wondering if that was the the cause of the guard gap up front after swapping the suspension. I had scrubbing issues with my Spirit5 NRCAs in my Levin and had to dial in extra camber up top for clearance of my 8j -13 Equips... I ended up replacing them with 45mm RCAs from Motorfix (biggest that fit inside 14" wheels) as I wanted to reduce the scrub radius and further improve the bump steer. I love your 86 bro!🤘
