To me this type of series is the backbone of what Hoonigan is. Taking regular cars and making them special, driving them, driving them hard and enjoying life. Shredding the lot, build bios, and all the random stuff is great, but at the end of the day it's just us and our cars and what we do to them to stand out. Not all of us have the luxury of using a large shop, having a crew and sponsors, but see what can be done is always inspiring and something to work towards for us common folk.

This is such a fun series to watch. That last shot gave me major nostalgia. I owned a 92 GLI when I was younger and I miss it pretty often. Seeing that 16v brought back a lot of good memories of canyon drives. The VR6 will rip and I can't wait to hear it, but if it doesn't fit and you go with the 16v, you know at least one person won't be mad about it. Idk anything about the powerband or how well suited it would be for a grid car, but doing ITB's instead of a turbo seems fitting for the 16v.

I noticed the 16 valve right away. I had an 89 Helios GLI, i put a 2l 16v in it annd it ripped.

After so many years following I know this is the ultimate joy for Scotto, the reason he won’t “just get someone” to fix his cars is that he loves troubleshooting and fixing, he’s got a lifetime of vehicles to chase gremlins and successes. Play on playa, this VR86 will scream 🎉

You’re probably gonna want to use the negative camber setting on the rcas with about 3-4 degrees caster and 5-6 degrees camber with 0.5 toe out. That’s a decent starting point for that engine weight and being a gymkhana setup. I run a JZ up front and you have to really up the front end steering response to get it to change direction when you want it to.
@alexanderfong4600 Жыл бұрын

For those who don't know Kris Meeke was Colin McRae understudy and is the first British Driver to win Rally Finland and he also might still have the highest average speed over a complete rally. In short Kris can certainly pedal any of the gymkhana cars.
@shona5512 Жыл бұрын
And you'd know he was under McRaes wing as he had the same all or nothing, flat out mentality. Foot down, risk it all for the win or crash trying.. Unfortunately that mentality resulted in his sacking, but fuck me he was an entertaining driver to watch.
