The background sounds sound like a kid looking around and empty house, then being thrown a surprise party by his mom and friends, but then at 00:15 he sounds really mad about it; you can hear him angrily muttering "fucking up..... bed" (possibly "I'm going to bed"). Lol just something I observed when I was like 11 yearsold.

Technically, (s)he is neutral. The genderless factor of NiGHTS' character gives the players the ability to interpret what they think (s)he is. As for my interpretation - due to her more feminine appearance and voice - I believe she is female.
