Night Shift I watch other KZbin channels such as Plasmo and Andy’s hobby’s (I believe that’s the channel), your detail work is impressive. The way you do rust on exhausts is mind blowing. I’m going to take it slow on my model I haven’t bought paints and an airbrush. I don’t know the difference between enamels and acrylics etc so I need to do some research.

Debbie downer here. One thing I don't like, is the wet in the middle of the tracks. Tracked vehicles move. Unless you are doing a vehicle that's been sitting for a full day, then maybe, but as a crewman on a Bradley, I've never seen it. That goes along with rusty tracks...utter nonsense, only if it's in a motor pool. Or hasn't moved for a while, the second it moves, any type of rust will come off. Other than that, love your stuff. Lol

What's the difference between a KV-1 and a 220?
@pumelo12 жыл бұрын
This is KV-220-2. Because the new turret for KV-3/Objekt 223 was not made only hull than the tank was hastily fitted with a KV-1 1940 turret and sent in 1941 to Leningrad defence! Hull was longer and have more 1 pair of wheels than KV-1 and KV-2 and new 750hp engine. KV-220 is Objekt 220. 220 and 223 had same hull

Uncle Night Shift after adding "mud" to the tracks the tank itself looks too clean (IMHO). It seems like there's a lot of mud, ground and puddle around, but the tank doesn't have even a drop of it. Was it meant so or are you going to work on this model again?!?
@NightShiftScaleModels5 жыл бұрын
Yes, next week I'm gonna finish the upper parts of the tank and it will get quite filthy :) Like I said at the beginning, this video was focused only around the tracks.
@lukas40k5 жыл бұрын
Uncle Night Shift, quick question. What enamel thinner do you use? Is it simple white spirit no-name brand, or maybe hi-end chemical composition from "profetional" brand? Also good job i love your videos and builds. Keep up the good work, because it's my inspiration and motivation to return to modeling after 5 years. :D
@NightShiftScaleModels5 жыл бұрын
I was lucky enough to find a non-modelling thinner that works great: Manger's White Spirit. But I'd like to point out that not every thinner works, some can damage the paint, so it's a matter of trial and error. If you're getting back into the hobby, I'd recommend buying a modelling thinner which is gonna work properly 100% of the time. Nothing worse than getting frustrated with petty things like off-brand thinner eating your model when you're returning into the hobby :)
@lukas40k5 жыл бұрын
@@NightShiftScaleModels Thanks for the advice. I was wondering what thinner to use because I only used oil paints from my local art store and the white spirit from there, and it worked back then. But I didn't know if it would work with enamel products. :) I just bought a cheap T37 model for starter and a few products that you recommend. I just hope I haven't rusted too much. I'm also from Eastern Europe, so I don't have millions of dollars to buy blinds. ;) BTW, sorry for my english, i don't have much opportunities to use it.
@NightShiftScaleModels5 жыл бұрын
@@lukas40k yeah, some thinners work with oils but don't so well with enamels, but like I said if you wanna be extra sure you can't go wrong with odorless thinner from Ammo or AK. I know it's overpriced for the amount but it will last you for a while and the best part, it won't cause you any problems.

@NightShiftScaleModels5 жыл бұрын
That's why they invented photoetched fenders :) Damaging plastic parts is okay, but I usually don't involve heat. I prefer thinning the plastic down to paper thickness and then bending it with pliers or just with my fingers. You just need to thin the section that needs to be bent, works like a charm.
@InSidious18055 жыл бұрын
Night Shift my lighter had other ideas. The little plastic fender rolled up like burrito. Are all photo etched parts for 1/35 models the same across different kit brands or are they brand and kit specific? My plan is to paint in primer red and make the fenders look bent and rusty like a last ditch effort tank. Probably not historically accurate but it’s what I want. I probably won’t be using fire anytime soon. I also lost two small photo etched hooks which really made me mad since it took forever to get them glued 😂
