Don't know if someone have allready mentioned it, but when gooing for the longer exposures, and a car, bike og person is about to cross the sceene, you can take your hat/cap or anything really, and quickly cover the lens and just count the seconds you have it in place before removing it, and adding that to the exposure time. That way you can get rid of unwanted light trails across the image without jumping in front of the car, of trying to explain to someone why you would be them forever thankfull if they would walk their dog in another direction.
@joepalmer78153 жыл бұрын
I’m confused, how would you add the exposure time mid photo
@rasmuskokholm70443 жыл бұрын
You have a 1 min exposure, and a car is approaching, so you cover the lens and count. After the car have passed, you remove the cover and continue the exposure as normal. When reaching the 1 min mark, you continue the exposure for the duration, ie. 5 sec, if that was the duration you covered the lens while the car was passing in front of the lens.
@joepalmer78153 жыл бұрын
@@rasmuskokholm7044 ahhh I see thanks mate, makes complete sense not sure why I struggled with that one... think I was forgetting it’s film and you can expose again before winding it on. 🤦🏼♂️

Hey Brae! Another awesome video. I have been shooting a lot of night photo photography recently on my rz, and I believe I have a tip that may help you! When you're shooting a neighborhood at night and a car is about to pass by, cover your lens with your hand or a dark slide. This will block the light from entering your exposure, and should have no real effect on your image. Hope this helps! :)

Hey Brae! Great photos again! I love seeing how your channel is deservedly getting bigger and bigger. Regarding the light streaks from the tail lights (which I personally dig anyways), I guess you can avoid them next time by covering the lens while the car is passing and just add those couple of seconds at the end, right?

@BraeHunziker4 жыл бұрын
Dude it is borderline impossible haha. You can barely see anything. I’ll usually just guesstimate the distance from the camera to the point I want to focus on and set the lens to that distance. I also try to shoot mostly at f/8 or f/11 just so I have some slight room for error.

@@fionnanmurphy1852 Think of it as the aperture closing up when u cover it with your hand and then opening it back up when u remove it. When you use your hand to cover up the lens they'll be no light coming in so you wont get the streaks of lights coming from a car or airplane.
