It has grown on me a lot but what put me off the most was the feeling of "I've heard this before" when listening. There's lots of similar melodies to their previous stuff, especially from Un-Reborn Again and Villains of Circumstance and some TCV stuff as well. Not exactly the same melodies but close enough that it rubbed me the wrong way at first. But tracks like Carnavoyeur and Sicily make up for it. Those two are truly great.

I really love that the album closes with an acoustic version of the Intro Obscenery. Really caps off the album as a whole work and not just a collection of songs. Also there is so much with this album that you can track from other projects that Josh has worked on in the past. You get a little bit of Eagles of Death Metal, Desert Sessions, and Them Crooked Vultures. You can feel the history and experience bleed into this and help color everything. This albums marks another solid entry into a fantastic discography.

Very thankful that ITNR didn’t turn into a Villains Part 2. That album just hasn’t stuck with me 5 listens deep unlike pretty much every other Queens record. ITNR brings flavors from pretty much their whole discography to the forefront. That sustained note/feedback on Sicily is reminiscent of the feedback on Better Life Through Chemistry on Rated R. Paper Machetes got that drive you hear a lot throughout SftD. Negative Space has some Little Sister vibes off of LtP. The main lead hook in Time & Place gives me Into the Hollow vibes. Just a few things that come to mind at the top of my head. Besides villains I think everything they’ve put out is a solid 7/10 if not higher

@@NightwalkReal I’ll have to give that album more listens but after 5 listens, the last song you mentioned (4:20 and onward kinda reminds me of something off …Like Clockwork) probably my favorite off the record besides Domesticated Animals (main riff bit similar to I’m Designer & imo it’s like if I’m Designer verse & My God Is the Suns ascending chorus had a baby). Personally I think Villains has some cool arrangements with familiar tones/Melodie’s similar to previous efforts listed above, but I feel like it doesn’t fire on all cylinders.
