It's deemed most popular and continues today to sell keep the sales at the top, outperforming any of their other LIVE concert DVDs. Also, it's GLS 2013 is the most viewed Live performance and most reacted to Nightwish song on KZbin, breaking records across the board.

Nightwish, Ladies and Gentlemen!!! They have opened the Valhalla gates, and now the Valkyrie Goddess walks among us 🤘🤩🤘!!! This is one of three great openings from them ("Dark Chest of Wonders", "Shudder Before the Beautiful" and now "Music" intro followed by "Noise"). This was Floor’s coming out party at Wacken with Nightwish. First time some of the crowd had ever seen or heard her with Nightwish, as she joined this tour when they were in the US and later South America and hadn’t recorded and released any new music with her yet. Needless to say, she won them over immediately, capturing their souls from the getgo and not letting go for 15 songs. Also, this song is Jukka's (Ex Drummer) favorite! NWSU 🤘😎🤘.

At least you don't get a headache with that. lol This song was also the show opener at Helsinki 2005 (End of an Era) with original lead singer Tarja Turunen. I assume you're talking about The Poet and the Pendulum when you mentioned research. Since that deals with the aftermath of the breakup with Tarja, are you going to listen to a song with her before then? If so, try Wishmaster, The Siren , or their cover of Phantom of the Opera. All from End of an Era.

Well now Mme. JyngerSlaps, I told you of Tuomas' pseudonyms when you did "Dead Boy's Poem" and tangentially referred to this very piece, quote: ". . . he says he is a man with a boy's heart and you will see that directly in places, here for instance, or elsewhere as "one with a pure heart", a line Floor sings in a high head voice as you might hear from an excited small boy. " So, the one with the pure heart is Tuomas as a small boy. You know he writes from experience and observation, the dark chest did and might still exist. Tuomas found it in his grandparents attic, filled with toys and books that took his imagination on all manner of wild rides and exciting places. Yes it’s working great reaction! Dark Chest of Wonders was the opening song for the 2013 Wacken Concert. Even though Floor had joined the band on their North America tour when Annette Olsen couldn’t continue because of complications due to her pregnancy. “ Please Learn the Setlist in 24 Hours” is a great documentary about how Floor was ask to fill in to finish the tour. Wacken 2013 was kinda Floor’s introduction to 82,000 Metal heads as Nightwish’s singer even thou she had been on the tour for about 10 months she was not officially been announced as a permanent member of the band! You’ve now saw the opening number of Wacken. Their was 15 songs in the set Ghost Love Score was the 13th. Last Ride of the Day! Is the last song. The entire concert was magical but Nightwish albums are masterpieces, their videos are fantastic but in this humble old metal/rock head opinion Nightwish live is magical! Great job as always and this was my favorite Nightwish song, I’m not afraid to say it (until I hear the next one!) Rock On Stay Safe!🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

it is in 48 hours not in 24 hours . the Nightwish documentary is : "please learn the setlist in 48 hours" . I continue to consider that whole story a great achievement in itself . she got a call from Nightwish at her sister 's wedding , going home packing bags , a 3-3.5 hour plane to America , and then learning the 15 songs from an existing album that you 've never even heard before ! .

Know what you mean about the Nightwish hangover! It lasts a long time, especially after their longer masterpieces. Sounds weird, but I often need to listen to Disturbed's cover of Sound of Silence just to recover from Poet and the Pendulum! I guess too light of a song would be too jarring to listen to...idk, but that's how I do it when a 3 hour hangover is too much!

It's been a week already!? Dark Chest is a pretty amazing way to open the show, it was the longest-standing show opener they used before switching to Shudder in the 2015 EFMB tour. For the vast majority of this Wacken 2013 crowd this was the very first time they saw and heard Floor live, so there were all sorts of pressures and expectations in the air. The Wacken 2013 concert being such a memorable occasion is in large part because of this.

Nice reaction again. Dark Chest of Wonders have really cool backstory. This is from 'Once Upon a Nightwish: The Official Biography 1996 - 2006', the time is the year 2003, when they were making the Once album, which ended up being a huge success: ---------------------------------------------- The rest of the Nighwish Famiglia had also learned to trust Tuomas' visions. "The band understands that the final versions sound nothing like the demos", Tuomas says. "I had to try and make them hear an orchestra and vocals here, a choir there, in order to convince them that it will sound good in the end. And no one ever said anything against it." "Tuomas can hear the kettledrums and choirs and orchestras in his head, but we can only hear the keyboards and the rhythm", Jukka laughs. "Although he tries to explain all those things, you really can't figure out what the song will sound like in the end. But you can't object, either. When we first went through the songs, I felt like there was no hit material on the album. Even 'Nemo' didn't catch me at first. Marco was initially completely dumbfounded by Tuomas' plans. "I often had to ask Tuomas what the hell's going on in the song", Marco laughs. "Like, 'Is this where the vocals will be? Is this the chorus?' I obviously needed some information about the backing tracks as well, to know where I could let it rip, and I often wondered would there even be room for anything else - like, 'How much stuff are you still going to layer on top of this?!" I was still feeling skeptical while we were doing the demo version of 'Dark Chest of Wonders', and I really didn't get the track until I heard the finished version. On the demo, Tarja's new singing style was still at a try-out phase, so you couldn't really hear the power in the song. But after proper production, the track changed quite radically and you could hear the point." Tero (engineering, producer since 1997) was another dissident not always convinced by Tuomas' ideas. "I was so wrong about 'Dark Chest of Wonders'", he admits. "I hated that song and I even suggested It'd be left out altogether, partly because the original lyrics had magic wands and stuff like that in them, but also because it sounded really messy. But once we got it on tape, I realized it sounded so good that it should be the opening track. I guess I was initially under the wrong impression that on this album, the band sort of...grows up."

Something else you could do is a live stream while watching a whole concert together with all of us.
