R.I.P Ann Waychoff mother of the Nightwish Army. June 28th, 2020 . Ann was a big Nightwish Fan. And every new person who listened to NW, she went through a little chat. And gave them some info about NW. This was her favorite song. And this song belongs to her. I like very much that Gabriel have continue Ann s work.... so her heritage is still here.

Favorite song of the late Ann Waychoff, Mother of the Nightwish Army. Inspired by the 52 chapter 19th century poem of the same name by Walt Whitman. The studio version includes a spoken poem section at the end, written by Tuomas in an ode to the original. The words to it are what is seen scrolling across the big screen behind the band. Song #14 of 15 in this set, right after Ghost Love Score. As you can see from the videos you have watched, there is no let up in energy throughout the show, they brought it every song. We told you every song is different. lol For different yet again, try I Want My Tears Back from the 2018 Buenos Aires show.

I very much enjoy your reactions to Nightwish - your genuine joy and emotions make them well worth watching! When you react to "Greatest Show on Earth" PLEASE react to the Tempere live performance - and watch it all the way through the credits. In this version Nightwish performs before their home audience in Finland and at the end of the performance you can feel the adulation poured out on them as they take their bows on a long runway that extends into the crowd. Some will passionately argue for the Wembley performance of "Gtreatest Show on Warth" and it's certainly great but the only thing it really has to offer is that Richard Dawkins makes a cameo appearance at the very end and that's basically just an old guy walking out on stage and reciting a few lines from his book. Watch that one after you've taken in and reacted to the magic of the Tempere version. "The Islander" from the Tempere concert is also a great showcase for the wonderful vocals, stage charisma, and showmanship of bassist Marko Hiatala.
@ValtteL2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Tampere show is really special. What I've heard they had all kinds of special permissions to that concert and lots of extra production. Camerawork, venue and bands performance is just much better in Tampere version. Camerawork in Wembley version is really below average in my opinion.

Little tip, dear one ... invest heavily in tissues for when you get to The Poet & The Pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth. I'm logging into eTrade and buying stock ... please tell me which brand you plan to buy! Floor gets to everybody because she is an empath, and lays her heart on the stage for every song, but then so does every single genius in that band. They are a cosmic collection of brilliance ... stars found clustered together to shine immensely brighter as one. Every one matters beyond their individuality as they contribute to the whole. Nobody does anything that isn't in complete harmony. Quietly waiting patiently for the next ride. You are such a lovely person.

@@jasonmarshall7572 Good point, Jason. Also it really helps to understand why Emppu goes over to check on him early in the song - that's what they're talking about - and also why Emppu & Marko go up on his stand and support him at the very end. @@JyngerSlapz Great Reaction Again! The sad part for alot of us is that Nightwish is not popular in the U.S. The came over before the Summer Music Festivals started in Europe and only played 6 concerts and even those were not at very large venues. They are more popular in South America than the U.S. I know you probably have your list of Nightwish songs to do, but if you want to hear Floor singing a Nightwish song with only an Acoustic Guitar playing, listen to How's the Heart Live at Planet Rock. Floor will blow your mind! Definitely a tissue song. You will also get to see the other member you might not have seen yet, Troy. He doesn't play on every song, but he is an awesome musician himself.

Floor is a special kind of singer as she is a storyteller in every sense of the word. She understands what she is singing and so shares her emotions, what she feels about the song, with the audience. To her, that is the only way to sing a song, and for her being highly sensitive person, is in itself an emotional arsenal. That being said, add some love, and a lot of vocal technique..... she's got you! Tears, goosebumps, chills And everything else Floor can release within you to make your journey a magical and emotional ride. Please have a box of tissues handy when you do Poet and the Pendulum, and The Greatest Show On Earth. The Greatest Show On Earth may be about the evolution of man starting with the big bang and development of the universe and our solar system, but if you know Floor already..... she will yank some tears out of you. Especially at the end. Very emotional ending and please watch til the very end of the video. That is, if you see the Tampere version which I do recommend. On that note, thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤🤘🤘

It is A Tribute to the poem in 52 chapters, One for every week of the year, " Song of myself " by Walt Whitman(one of the co-founders of US poetry) USA 1892 version. The 7th verse of the song is ""Of mermaids, of Whitman's and the Ride""". The extended studio version of this song has, at the end, a poem as a tribute to Whitman made by Tuomas, the keyboard player and the mastermind of nightwish. Most of these lines you can also see fast flahing on the ledscreen of this video. Bucle up, it goes very deep. " I see a slow, simple youngster by a busy street With a begging bowl in his shaking hand Trying to smile but hurting infinitely Nobody notices I do, but walk by An old man gets naked and kisses a model-doll in his attic It's half-light and he's in tears When he finally comes his eyes are cascading I see a beaten dog in a pungent alley He tries to bite me All pride has left his wild drooling eyes I wish I had my leg to spare A mother visits her son, Smiles to him through the bars She's never loved him more An obese girl enters an elevator with me All dressed up fancy A green butterfly on her neck Terribly sweet perfume deafens me She's going to dinner alone That makes her even more beautiful I see a model's face on a brick wall A statue of porcelain perfection beside a violent city kill A city that worships flesh The first thing I ever heard Was a wandering man telling his story It was you, the grass under my bare feet The campfire in the dead of the night The heavenly black of sky and sea It was us Roaming the rainy roads Combing the gilded beaches Waking up to a new gallery of wonders every morn Bathing in places no-one's seen before Shipwrecked on some matt-painted island Clad in nothing but the surf Beauty's finest robe Beyond all mortality we are Swinging in the breath of nature In early air of the dawn of life A sight to silence the heavens I want to travel where life travels Following its permanent lead Where the air tastes like snow music Where grass smells like fresh-born Eden I would pass no man, no stranger, no tragedy or rapture I would bathe in a world of sensation Love, Goodness, and Simplicity (While violated and imprisoned by technology) The thought of my family's graves was the only moment I used to experience true love That love remains infinite As I'll never be the man my father is How can you "just be yourself" When you don't know who you are? Stop saying "I know how you feel" How could anyone know how another feels? Who am I to judge a priest, beggar, whore, politician, wrongdoer? I am, you are, all of them already Dear child, stop working, go play Forget every rule There's no fear in a dream "Is there a village inside this snowflake?" A child asked me "What's the color of our lullaby?" I've never been so close to truth as then I touched its silver lining Death is the winner in any war Nothing noble in dying for your religion For your country For ideology, for faith For another man, yes Paper is dead without words Ink idle without a poem All the world dead without stories Without love and disarming beauty Careless realism costs souls Ever seen the Lord smile? All the care for the world made Beautiful a sad man? Why do we still carry a device of torture around our necks? Oh, how rotten your pre-apocalypse is All you bible-black fools living over nightmare ground I see all those empty cradles and wonder If man will ever change I, too, wish to be a decent manboy But all I am Is smoke and mirrors Still given everything, may I be deservin And there forever remains That change from G to E minor. This song for me sums up Nightwish as a whole... they have a lot of songs where the theme is about losing or having lost a part of your life. Be that love or childhood or the entirety of humanity. I think these are universal themes that people find very relatable. Combine that with the bands ability to write catchy hooks and riffs and Floors ability to project the emotion of the song and there is the reason people are so passionate about the band. Women who normally would not necessarily think of "metal" as a genre they would like find their music appealing, look at the crowd it is such a mix that you don't see for other metal bands. Combine this with the obvious fun and enjoyment the band have playing it live and you get that perfect storm of why for most people the live performances are their preference.

As you said every song is different, yet you can clearly hear its Nightwish without a doubt.

They are fuk'n awesome, huh. I gotta tell you its as hard for me waiting for your next reaction as it is for you. Great reaction. Waiting impatiently for the next one. Try "Yours is an empty hope" at Wembly arena.

This one is absolutely one of my top favorites. I love everything in this song: lyrics... "These are Territories I live for, I'd still give my everything to love you more", melody, and that Jukka's drumming and style 🤘❤

💯 percent ! Love seeing your reaction and enjoy seeing someone else feeling Nightwish the way I do. ❤️Floor ! “The Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean “ is awesome and a great duo with Floor and Marco 👍🤘✌️
