This was the closest I ever got to a religious experience.

if that is true, l feel very very sorry for you. you should go out wander through the wilderness out there a bit more, enjoy the starlight, the sun in the morning in the eve, the clouds, the colours at any given time of the day. Are you living in a subway station or what ?!

I'm in tears. I love Nightwish, and I love Dawkins. I hope I get to meet him someday. He, among others, including the great Christopher Hitchens, have truly changed my life in the most literal sense, transforming me from a sheltered Christian child, to a grown maturing atheist. I hope to be like him one day. If you ever read this, Richard, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Never stop what you do. It really does make a tangible difference in the world.

Ellen Haataja He also had a great influence on me, since I read his books about evolution and genetics I just wanted to know more and more about biology, he ignited my fascination with life and evolution

The fact that the crowd went ape for Mr. Dawkins really shows the quality of Nightwish fans.

“Thus, from the war of nature, from famine and death, the most exalted object which we are capable of conceiving, namely, the production of the higher animals, directly follows. There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.”

That's not weird, Dawkins acknowledged all the time the great influence of the Bible on the English literature and language, it's one of the few things he considers positive about "The Book".
