The good news is Marco, the bass guy, is a permanent member of the band, not for the very beginning but still, and he does backup vocals for all the female lead singers, plus several songs as a lead singer: While Your Lips Are Still Red, The Islander, and this one. That bass player is Marko. I love Marko. He's still the bass player, yeah. He and Floor (the chick) have some really mind-blowing duets on many of Nightwish's songs. If you are into harder stuff, try Romanticide, the Wacken 2013 version.

Nice reaction, Yes 'Romanticide' should be your next reaction, for sure. Then perhaps 'followed by 'Song of Myself'and Ghost River'. Like many who first didn't grok on 'Ghost Love Score' right away. You may find that it grows on you after you have a better understanding of the scope of Nightwish's music.

Marco is a great singer on his own. But to like Nightwish you cannot be locked into a genre or style. They compose and play great music. You must be open minded enough to appreciate music for itself. They do not do exclusively heavy music. They do everything from Metal to Folk music. If you are locked into a certain genre, you will not like half of their music. Don't fool yourself Marco is good but Floor is world class. You just did not care for the composition of Ghost Love Score or maybe both of you do not care for female singers. Fair enough. Yeah, Nightwish fans can be a bit too fanatic sometimes. It's true that Ghost Love Score is not for everybody and I don't think you were disrespectful. I'm sure you can find some treasures from their own songs too. 7 Days to the Wolves (Live at Wembley) or Dark Chest of Wonders (Wacken 2013) might be more your taste than GLS. And oh yeah. Marco, the bassist I consider to be the Official Metal Voice of Finland.

Great choice!!!!!!! They killed this song........ They did make it their own! Please do not underestimate Floor. You have only one example to go by. I would hate that you do not get to experience her capabilities. She is so versatile. She is not all operatic. Floor has belonged to 2 bands before Nightwish. She has been a guest on other bands songs. The US is not big in female fronted bands. It is something we are not used to. Marko the singer has other songs he has done by himself and he has been involved with many side projects. If you continue you will be told about other bands he has been with and songs that he was the guest singer. Thank you for giving them a chance.......... I am old er lol and just discovered them 4 years ago. I will quit babbling now............ :-)

As far as the fans they really are the nicest group of people you will ever know. I was very ill for 3 months and these people came together to help me mentally and financially. Marco is a staple of Nightwish. Floor, the chick, is one of the best female vocalists in rock and metal. She can do it all. There are so many dimensions to Nightwish. Trust me, you’ll see the light. 😎 I echo, the Yours is an Empty Hope from the Nightwish cruise. Besides, you’ll get to hear Floor growl while Marco sings the chorus. Yes, Floor can growl. What makes Floor so unique is that she can switch between different styles very quickly. If you like Marco, check out The Islander live at Tempere or While Your Lips are Still Red live at Wembley.

Don't go dissing Marko, he is extremely talented singer in his own rights ever since the 80s and has been properly trained in singing. The more people listen to Nightwish, the more they tend to realize how amazing Marko actually is, and you also have to take into account that this is his DAMAGED voice. He has partially paralyzed vocal cords due to neural damage caused by throat surgery

Wait a while before doing Poet and the Pendulum. It’s intense, but you need to understand the bands backstory. I’ve seen many people cry during that song. What makes Nightwish so special is they sing very human songs. Read their lyrics. Floor has a very special way of pulling the emotions out of people.

This is a Tribute to Pink Floyd...and their own version of this song. Tuomas tuned it for NW soundscape and Marco did so awesome singing work as all of them did their part. There is NO single bad song from them...just great ones and so versatile. Check also the early songs of the early era. You should learn his name as the names of all original members of this band if you do more reactions of them. You know...they started in 1996.

Ghost Love Score is something I wouldn't recommend as an intro into Nightwish, I still don't know why people keep doing it. It's a slow song and doesn't represent the whole band, but only Floor's ability as a singer. Give Nightwish another try, but start with something a bit heavier. I think the last album Endless Forms Most Beautiful is a place to start (as I've seen people recommending Your's Is An Empty Hope, live Cruise version). But hey, in the end, if it's not for you - it's not for you, you gave it a shot.

Floor fans are absolutely bonkers into Ghost Love Score. I searched couple of days ago, I counted 249 reactions, within a year. There is a playlist of GLS reactions, it has 222 videos. That's the song the Floor gang always request! There's only 1 reaction to her "Deep Silent Complete" (was not requested by people, the channel owner did it by himself), 1 reaction to her "The Siren", 2 to her "10th Man Down," 5 to her "Nemo".. and 249 to GLS. WACKY!

Ghost love score is a lot to take in when it’s the first time. But there is so much more to this band that meets the eye/ears..they are a very variated band. They do long movie score like songs,megaheavy,Celtic folk,melodic and ballads. They do something for ever taste in rock metal. Marco and Floor sings together in many of their songs. Please check out Tuomas Holopainen(keyboard and main songwriter)solo “A Lifetime of adventure”that one is with his wife on vocals. That song is going to stay in your heads for a week. Nightwish have lots of different songs, so it is hard to me give some "great suggestion'''', because I like everything. :D But if you only want hear Floors soft voice quality: Sleeping sun by Tampere 2015 live, or harder part her voice (and band also) : Romantice Wacken 2013 or Yours is empty hope NW cruise 2015 live, or some celtic influence: I want my tears back Wacken 2013 live /Tampere or Helsinki 2015 live.... Here's the thing. None of the Wacken concert was written for Floor Jansen. This was for their first vocalist, Tarja Tarunen. Some of it was written for Anette Olzon, who's more 80's /90's sounding, which is some of why fans were livid when Tarja was fired. There was loads upon loads of drama up until 2012, when Anette got fired. Floor, who had agreed to come in for her anyway, ended up having to finish learning the set in 48 hours, so her doing Ghost Love Score is like any female vocalist going after 'the note' in Alone. TONS of scrutiny. She could have fallen backwards really easy, but instead united the fanbase. Yes, NW fans can be passionate, but that is partially the result of a highly emotional and passionate composer ( Tuomas, the keyboards ) Thank you for staying on the NW train a little longer, and I hope you'll look up a bit on Wiki and the interviews with Tuomas on your own time. ( You'll need to if you plan to do The Poet and The Pendulum )

Well no surprise here, Marco had botched surgery on his vocal chords in the early 90's and had to learn how to sing all over again and worked his a$$ off so you are listening to a guy who worked very hard to get his voice to this point. Jake you might enjoy some of the heavier songs but Julie seems set that "the chick" isn't making the grade so there is little chance of her liking this group as Floor sings most of the songs, although her and Marco are a dynamic duet team, but that said "the chick" comment makes it clear that Floor will never make the grade. I assume Romanticide is next as it is the heavy one that people who don't reaction well to GLS are directed to. I can already guess where Julie lands , your opinion will be interesting to see as it is a heavier, shorter song that Floor and Marco do together. BTW if you really like Marco he had a band Tarot with his brother where he did most of the vocals so you can check YT for a number of songs. Marco also was a member of several other Finnish bands Conquest and Sinegry, I don't think there is much on YT that covers them though. Marco does a lot of duets with other metal vocalists especially the female symphonic ones, he is a great guy and everyone loves working with him you can check YT and you will see what I mean.

Yes, must say that now and then there is some "Nightwish-jihadist", too many floorgasms per day can temporally mix brains but this do not make person dangerous, just addicted...And most of time we Nightwish fans are just normal humans who loves good music. Just do your honest reactions as you like, this is your own channel. Now...If listening more Nightwish, my recommend is "I want my tears back" (Live Wembley) or/and "Shudder before the beautiful" (Live Wembley). These songs are quite different style than "Ghost love score" and Marko(Bass player) sings with Floor (More in I want my tears back, maybe 50/50 on that).

They are not very big in the US (I am from US as well). Ghost Love Score isn't even in my top 30 from this band. They have now became my favorite group as well. I am a huge Megadeth fan so that tells you something...Pink Floyd as well. Floor might be the most talented singer right now. This band can go from hard hitting metal to insane symphonic opera etc. Saw them in concert last year in california. I'm have been to many concerts including pink floyd and honestly they blew me away. Her live vocals were insane. Try a few songs out just to see. My guess is your music taste is a lot like mine and you might not want to miss knowing this band. Want heavy do Yours is an Empty Hope from Baltic Cruiseline Want metalish symphonic Irish sounding do I want my tears back.

Here's a power metal band recommendation..Unleash The Archers, song is called Awakening live recording. Riffs are an absolute killer.

Just found this - I hope that You have been informed that the first video You reacted to by Nightwish with Floor was her replacing the second singer in the band. She had been with the band less than 10 month at that concert in front of 82 000 and all the songs she performed was written for the other two former singers. Since Floor joined they have written less operatic songs and more of the heavier stuff but with some operatic flavours - as this is Symphonic Metal. Flor can do all kinds of singing from growl to plain classic operatic singing. I totally agree that we cannot all like the same music but I do appreciate good musicianship and compositions.

The singer and bassist is called Marco Hietalla and he sings background vocals with Floor in some songs. But I highly advise you check out the songs the fans suggested. As for me I will watch your video and understand your opinion if you don't like them. However I will suggest to check out similar bands like Nightwish. -Epica (they're symphonic but heavier than NIghtwish they have a female singer and a male that does harsh vocals in some of the songs.). Check out Consing to Oblivion live from the Zenith it's a long song but pretty heavy. And the Essence of Silence live this one is short but it still heavy. -Amaranthe- this band has different sounds from rock, heavy metal, melodic death metal, pop, techno among other. It had three singers two males and a female, one of the males sings harsh vocals. Check out Countdown official video. -Burning Witches- this is an all female heavy metal band heavily influenced by Judas Priest. People called them the Judas Priestess. Check out Hexenhammer official video and Wings of Steel official lyric video. I will leave it there and keep it up with the reactions.

Glad you like it. I don't know which song you reacted before but I guess it was Ghost Love Score because - you didn't mind it that much and you got some "hate" against you because of it 😁. Some of the NW fans are really sensitive if you don't like all the songs, especially if there's Floor involved too. I'm a hardcore fan but I understand that every NW song - if any - is not everybody's cup of coffee. But yeah, glad you gave NW another shot and it was a goal! NW has pretty colorful and wide collection of songs, so there is good chance you would like some of them. It's really unfair there's so many dislikes even on this video, I guess, only because you hadn't original video to share with us. Keep still rocking and reacting, you guys are nice and honest anyway. I'd say "Ghost Love Score" is a good introduction song for people who don't normally listen to metal. It's a gateway drug. 😋 They've got a lot of variety in their music, and much of it is much heavier and more straightforward than Ghost Love Score. I'd recommend Yours Is An Empty Hope from the Nightwish cruise, or Ghost River (Waken 2013) next. Both those songs are heavier than Ghost Love Score, and both have both Floor and Marco (The bass player that sang here) singing.

This song means a lot to me. Pink Floyd's Division Bell tour was the last concert my ex-wife (and mother of my children) saw together and it's an awesome memory. She was 8 months pregnant with our youngest who has grown to become a talented guitarist & love rock and metal which is odd for a 25 yr old young man. No rap or hiphop. Thanks for that reaction. I don't agree abt Nightwish btw, Floor Jansen is amazing. But to each their own guys. I'm going to check out the rest of your videos, but how about some new Tool? #Pneuma #Decending and #7empest. well, that's normal, some songs you like, some don't, for some songs need to give more time to grow... in every fandome there are crazy people XD you don't know how crazy could be kpop fans, they can be wild. Marko is awesome and i always enjoy to hear him. He have some solo songs and he is like second vocalist. When Marko and Floor are singing together sounds so good, they complimenting each other. If you want more Marko check While your lips are still red (Wembley) and The Islander (Tampere). They made cover song Phantom of the opera, The first singer Tarja and Marko (live End of the era), it is epic.

I don’t think they do this anymore. This was Back in 2005. Marco is 53 now. Not sure if he can still sing this good. But yes Romanticide at Wacken 2013. Oh and I love Marco but you might be the only one who thinks he’s better than Floor.

Focus on finding and reacting to stuff you'd enjoy. Don't force yourselves to watch or like things you probably won't. It shows, and isn't fun for anyone. Just remember the people dropping in for the positive reactions if you don't like something. Last thing they want to see is you taking the piss outta their favourite band instead. (As you found out!) ;) Try reacting to something like Jinjer - Pisces. Popular react video, and probably more up your alley. (Check with a friend first if you like).

Don't knock on Floor. She's considered one of the best metal singers in the power/symphonic metal scene. Romanticide is a good showcase for her so hopefully it'll change your mind on her. Marco is a baddass though. You got that one right :P

I have been reading the comments of the previous video and the truth is that I don't think that the fans were hated you guys for like or not the genre of the symphonic metal, it has never been the most popular in the metal world I think the negative comments are due to the fact that Nightwish is one of those bands that are so brutal live, Tuomas, the leader and composer of the band (the keyboardist) who a lot people call him "the master" is a genius. That man has an impressive talent that unfortunately has never been so recognized. So now that Nightwish is becoming very popular on KZbin, the minimum thing that the fans expect from people don't know them is to search the basics history about the band (as some people who react to their music do before) 👍

That is a fair criticism and if people would prefer that we research the band beforehand, we can start doing that. I feel personally that it's more of a "pure" reaction if you go into it with no expectations. I have nothing against researching beforehand and I love learning about bands and music. I'll admit that your reaction is the 1st that I came across where the people didn't actually like it. It was a little disappointing to see, but I respect that you were honest and true to what you felt, thought, and wasn't using a false reaction for increased subscribers. I think in order to understand the band and it's fan base you have to know a bit about the band first, what drives it and the pure creative inspiration that is Nightwish. So, here's the skinny on what's been happening with Nightwish through the years, the decades. Floor is the third singer, believe it or not The Phantom of the Opera performance was Tarja's (the first singers) last performance before the band had to let her go: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5zNnp2hgM-LpZo The reason being that she never really felt like this was her path. Originally, when Nightwish was formed it was going to be more of a classical based band. Tuomas, the keyboardist, writer, and composer of ALL their music, noting Tarja's operatic training brought her into the fold and basically formed the band around her voice. Being that they were all good friends and growing up together, it was very hard for them when she started to drift away, missing the practices and started making statements about leaving the band. Some credit her being influenced by her businessman husband Marcelo Cabuli, who was incidentally overheard on numerous occasions making statements that "Tarja was the face of Nightwish" and that she "could do much better without the band". Floor was actually the 'fill in' singer back when Tarja started missing the practices. Then they hired Anette (the second singer) and she was with them for a time until the whole debacle at the Denver concert when they all got seriously sick and she had to be rushed to the emergency room... then she broke her ankle in a fall when she was pregnant. At that point Anette just wanted to heal, have her baby and be close to home. So they moved Floor to the position of lead singer. The song The Poet and The Pendulum, which was written and wholly composed by Tuomas, was all about the dark time around when they had to ask Tarja to leave. Tuomas and the band suffered depression over their feelings of betrayal, especially Tuomas who was affected the most, to the very point that the band, family, and friends were worried about him committing suicide. You can see in The Poet and The Pendulum that it's his journey working through that depression, those dark times. The Poet and The Pendulum was Tuoman's written suicide, instead of doing the actual act. The very last words of the song are about forgiveness, love and making a fresh start, "In the end I will always love you....The beginning". So very very hauntingly beautiful. IF you haven't seen it, you really need to. It's a heavy, dramatic song that some have a tendency, in their Nightwish journey, to watch too soon. IF you do get around to It, it's one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever written. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZPRanqZr751odk Also you will notice that the drummer Jukka Nevalainen was replaced by Kai Hahto due to Jukka having debilitating insomnia. Too, really you need to check out their Greatest Show On Earth performance. By this point they have also added a remarkable multi instrumentalist with Troy Donockley. No, it's not an issue (at least to me) of whether you liked/didn't like "Ghost Love Score" - it was your attitude that it was a "long" song, and that you couldn't maintain enough serious attention for a 10-minute piece of music. It sounded like you had the musical equivalent of ADHD. Full disclosure: I'm nearly 60 and, as I remarked in the other GLS post, 10-minute songs were normal in the prog. rock genre in the early 70s, and they were damn good songs/tunes that have stood the test of time.

I love long songs and we have done reviews of songs that are longer than 10 mins that we really liked. I thought the last NightWish song was just flat and boring. I very rarely listen to compositions under 5 mins long. We just didnt like the last one. 10 mins is a long time to listen to something you don't enjoy lol

It's fair enough to make conclusions after the song is finished, but, having gone back and reviewed your reaction to GLS you (or certainly Julie) seemed to be offering opinions before that. For example, she can't even get the name of the band correct ("Nightwash"); after c.6:16 she says in an exasperated tone "Ten minutes left", before being corrected; and at 9:51 she says "Is anyone still watching?". Finally, both of you seem to agree (13:01) that it "... was long. Really long". In other words, the song was already being denigrated BEFORE it had finished, and moreover, Julie was expressing frustration at the length of the song as it was progressing, and confirmation of this was in both your final remarks about its length. I agree that "10 mins is a long time to listen to something you don't enjoy", but I would wait until the song had actually finished before I reached such a conclusion - yet Julie (at least) clearly was not prepared to do so.

I am a huge Pink Floyd fan as well and I think this is amazing. I think you started with the wrong song as well. Floor actually has a stronger voice than him but he does some lead singing as well and she does backups. Nightwish has been around since 1996 and has done about every type of music so maybe there will be something you will enjoy. Hey if not thats ok and thank you for giving it a chance.

People need to get over it. Its called a "reaction". However GLS gave me chills when I first listened to it. I cant believe you didn't like GLS but anyway. We move on to the next reaction. Be aware that Nightwish have a lot of epic long songs but they also have the harder short songs too. Symphonic metal may not be for you guys but try it anyway. Heavy metal has many genres and its worth it trying out something different. There was a Reactor pair that didn't like Ghost love score but are now massive fans. Later on that pair couldn't believe they didn't like GLS. Song of myself, Romanticide from Wacken 2013 might suit you better.

Floor fans can be waaaaaaay too fanatical and unreasonable, and sadly they are the most vocal members of YT's Nightwish fanbase, but it can't be helped, and it isn't like they don't have some justification to it since Floor is a beast, but still they take it too far at times. Marko is still their lead male vocalist, and they have songs where he is the main vocalist, he has been a metal lead singer since early 80s, but unfortunaly has partial paralysis in his vocal cords due to a throat surgery in the mid 90s and he had to re-learn to speak and sing again with his partially functioning equipment. So his singing on this video and in Nightwish is with his damaged voice xD When you take into consideration that he shouldn't even be able to sing at all, is quite a freaking feat!

Yeah, GLS isn’t always the best start. Plenty of reactors haven’t got into the song but appreciated it more after finding other stuff that did rock their boat. Try Song of Myself, Ghost River or Romanticide maybe, both Floor and Marco sing.
