In addition to Nightwish songs recommended here Marko also has fresh solo production. From those I recommend "Marko Hietala - The Voice of My Father" and "Marko Hietala - Stones". Marko's musical production goes way beyond that though. Even before Nightwish Marko was already a Finnish metal legend. His own band Tarot started back in 1982 and the band is one of the biggest pioneers in Finnish metal music.

You've discovered Marco! Isn't he awesome? He's taking a break for a year, wishing he recovers well, looking forward to his return. Maybe try "High Hopes" Pink Floyd tribute? Marco voice solo (without Tarja, who was backstage). A lot of emotion involved which made it extra punchy. From same concert, "Phantom of the Opera", with lead singer Tarja (Tarr-yah), even Andrew Loyd-Webber liked it! Roger Waters, from Pink Floyd, doesn't like A L-W very much, because there is a very recognisable part in Phantom, taken directly from PF "Echoes"!

If you want a different type of "love song" from Nightwish, then Romanticide from the same concert includes a lot of the things you mentioned here. The theme is romance as well, but the lyrics are about a romance gone bad. It has a lot of hair flinging, Marco singing with Floor, and all that good stuff. If Ever Dream can considered as one of the mellower Nightwish songs, then Romanticide would be considered as one of their hardest songs in contrast. I don't listen to 'The poet and the pendulum' every day..it's far too heavy (emotionally) but its a f***ing masterpiece.
