This song was done to celebrate 500 years od Swedish Royal Guard, it should have been an official cooperation, but the politicians backed out. They recorded the song on both English and Swedish. The video on Swedish version is continuation of this one, so you should watch it because it's great and it has translation so you can understand what are they singing about

Check Sabaton history canal and they will explain what "Livgardet" is. It´s the oldest still existing military regiment

The Moroccan Royal Guard is the oldest one, not the Swedish Royal Guard

Ok, so the first little Swedish was "En tid - av krig", that's "A time - of war". The second bit was "I frid - Och i strid", that's "In peace - and in battle". Then there's the bridge, and it contains the Swedish royal motto (current king) "För Sverige i tiden", that's "For Sweden - with the Times". And it's followed by the motto of the Royal guard, "De gör vad som synes omöjligt", which translates to "They do what appears to be impossible". För Sverige i tiden (For Sweden - with the Times) Dit konungen går (Where the king goes) De gör vad som synes omöjligt (They do what appears to be impossible) Vad än framtiden spår (Whatever the future holds)

In 1991 I was in the Royal Guard positioned just outside the Royal Castle on the Lions Hill. It was freezing during nights and hot as hell daytime.

Check out Livgardet, the swedish version of this song. Have a different video and beginning, but it's so delightful to watch Joakim singing in his mother tongue, and production is on top.

i Love Dacota fanning, she is one of the most talanted acteresses and from sutch a young age. Ok so Sabaton, this was specefic event during the Northen war against Russia and Poland and these guards actually saved the king, while being injured pretty much all of them and the king emiddeately promoted the Captain of the guards when he said, "lets go out in a blaze of glory instead of being imprisoned "after they saw the turks had like 2 thousand men waiting outside after they set the building on fire to make the Swedes come out. When they did come out with swords and pistols ready the turks had been ordered to stand down. So the Swedes actually got back home to Sweden
