This song is the first one, after a quick shot at Elan (studio version), I listen to for Nightwish with Floor Jansen. And it just caught me, making me replay it as a maniac. The variety of tones, the emotion she puts into this song.... man I loved Nightwish with Tarja (and still love it), but she really took this one to another level.

Yeah I agree with you. For me Floor is the best and the most versatile singer of Nightwish. Every NW singer has something special. I like Tarja with her band and I like Anette with her band But Floor just gives so much energy and so much difference in the band!

I mean, there are singers beeing better or on par in terms of growling, tarja is able to pull of the operatic part equally good, anette did that mystic-clear part as good as floor does... but Floor is just able to it all at once - even in the same song with smooth transitions and she makes it look so easy... Thats why i love her. Not because she is the best at everything - but because she is sufficiently skilled in all kinds of singing which gives Tuomas the versatility he needs to fully reach his potential. I am looking forward to another album one day to see what Tuomas is going to do with her versatility after Endless Forms Most Beautiful^^

Jukka stopped touring after this tour. Floor kicked ass in this song. She so made it her song! The end is what we call Floorgasm! We would have none of this without Tuomas! You need to do all live shows. They are better live. Any song from Wacken 2013 is really good. From the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album you need to do Yours Is An Empty Hope (Live Nightwish Cruise). In this song Floor shows everything her voice can do. I don't want to say anymore because I do not want to ruin it. Thanks for this! When you said you had not heard Floor sing this, I was waiting for your reaction. You did not disappoint!

Ann, I have info about Jukka. Last year, Tuomas gave out something not spoken of very much, which is Jukka had to have hand surgery. I do not know if this will affect his possible return or not, but Tuomas did confirm that Jukka is "doing much better." (Context was responding to Jukka's insomnia issue.) As for the next album, he also confirmed Kai is staying on through the next album (due out 2020) and subsequent tour. After that, who knows.

What always blows me away about this performance is that this was their encore. They’d already been on stage for the better part of two hours (I think) at that point. To still have that much gas in the tank and to keep up that sort of momentum is unreal. Especially Floor. Most trained vocalists can’t or won’t sing opera and rock and belting in the same day. Never mind within the same damn song, song after song... for hours on end. Absolute goddess.

This was also the first song I heard from Nightwish and was my first introduction to the genre of symphonic metal. I heard Tarja's End of an Era version in 2008. It also blew me all the way to hell and back! I had had no idea such incredible music even existed. It is hard to take such a perfect song and make it even better than perfect, but Floor did it!!! Wait till you hear Floor do Poet & the Pendulum live at Wembley, if you haven't already! :)

Hey Mate! Great Reaction Video! In my youth I used to listen to Bands like Sepultura, Slayer, Fear Factory, Machine Head, Cannibal Corpse, etc... talking about some hard Stuff back in the days. Floor is stunning live vocalist indeed. Romanticide and Last Ride of the Day from the same concert and then The Poet and the Pendulum from Wembley. Stargazers, Alpenglow and The Greatest Show on Earth from Tampere. All live shows. From Anette era I recommend The Escapist, Turn Loose the Mermaids that are only in album versions.

I am always super excited to see first reactions to that epic as hell "Floorgasm" near the end of the song, that part always blows my mind to this day. I 100% agree that Floor is the best singer they have ever had. I have seen Nightwish live 6 times since 2007, a few times with Anette and a few times with Floor and it has always been worth it. I agree as well that people were WAY too hard on Anette... the band was looking for something different and she was great at what she did. Just because the previous songs were not as great of a fit with her voice as we would have liked, doesn't mean she wasn't a great singer herself. Also, I will say I have always liked Anette's live performances of Nemo a lot. She did a nice variation at the end of the song that impressed me greatly.

Actually any Nightwish song Floor is singing live or cd is worth reacting to, but I would suggest Shudder Before Beautiful Wembley 2015. There is now also Floors Ghost Love Score Wacken 2018.

2018 is not so good, they seemed to have audio mixing problems during most if not the whole show and what they were hearing on the monitor wasn't great either. Maybe even worse. That was disappointing.
