Hello EV [ EVFAMILYENT ] ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I know, I was overwhelmed the first time I heard this. It’s always rewarding to watch someone go outside their comfort zone and give another type of music a chance. If your reaction was anything to go by ( which was awesome btw) I think you have discovered that there is more to metal music than just screaming and grunting! This evening all came together the sound, the light...pyro's, the audience, the venue (82.000 peeps) and it was the real BIG concert of Floor with Nightwish...she was like 8 mnths with them at this point! Is the best...well counted with the previous...Yes! But strap in lad, there is also London 15, Tampere 15 , Buenos Aires 18 and Deichbrand 22 and i did not even mention Masters of Rock and Hellfest, the NW Cruise and others...😅

This is considered to be the best live recording of any band ever made. Not only was this concert the end of Wacken Open Air festival, but Floor Jansen, the woman singing, had only been performing with Nightwish for 10 months. Which is amazing in its own right, but bro -- understand a couple of things: 1) Prior to Floor joining Nightwish, she was only a month after recovering from performance burn-out. 2) She learned this setlist in only 48 hours. As a result, bro, this performance is the most reacted-to performance on KZbin. No other band, no other artist, no other song comes even close. In terms of live performances, I've only got one thing to say: Welcome to the world of rock and metal! A few other bands put on a show like this, such as power metal band Sabaton (check out the live performance of "40 to 1" in 2012 or "Night Witches"), or old-school rock band Iron Maiden performing Hallowed Be Thy Name live in 1982. Just gonna say it, bro, you ain't seen nothin' yet! I would put Nightwish or Sabaton up against any American band or artist, live, any day of the week.

This is real music, carefully crafted and performed, backed by an orchestra and choirs, with a supremely talented band and singer(s). I am not sure you are ready for Nightwish if your intro rap segments are what you personally enjoy. It was funny listening to you talking about the light show, knowing they have even better in other concerts, and not yet seeing the pyro and timed fireworks at some of their other concert venues.

When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.+) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen besides Nightwish, here is some background information on the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Floor joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. Here are some of my favourites: ‘Energize me’; Monolith of Doubt’ and Dreamflight’. Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. She also studied 2 years at the Conservatory (1 year Music Theatre and 1 year Opera). 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song from full operatic to death growls in seconds. Here are some examples: ‘Misery’s no Crime’, ‘Wild card’ and ‘Disdain’. Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour: ‘Please learn the setlist in 48 hours’ Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp’ also, but it was clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so 'Revamp' disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on KZbin. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa’ and to see her in full opera mode, watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered KZbin in these years. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses, personal insights and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself singing Ghost Love Score at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish. Also her Fan Friday videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of these and other presents she left on her channel. Also videos of her solotour she did with songs of her impressive career. Her latest endeavour is her stunning solo album ‘My Paragon. Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton), daughter Freja (turns 7 years next march) and a newborn (last october) daughter Lucy ,a couple of horses, dogs and cats, she found this.

Welcome to nightwish a very diverse band with loads of different sounds, also many stage effects. Gabriel has a list which is a good guide if you wish to follow it. Floor the singer songs with Marko the bass player on many songs they are amazing together. All the best from the Uk🇬🇧 Pink Floyd did produce a good light show, but I wouldn't compare them to nightwish as they are totally different hubby likes Pink Floyd and went to their concerts. I love it when a reacter thinks they have this band all figured out and pigeonholed at 2 minute in, with career and performance advice. LOL! Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. They're not Vikings, they're pirates. The song was written in 2003 when Pirates of the Caribbean was in the cinema. Mastermind Tuomas Holopainen is a big fan of Hans Zimmer and you can hear it. O yes, I really like your reaction! Stick to Nightwish and Floor Jansen. They're awesome. I believe Floor has been rapping in German in the tv show "Sing meinem Song". You can't find this on KZbin but I mean, she's so versatile. She can sing/do anything with her voice. Talent, training and total dedication, a musical nerd. Great seeing you discover my other favorite band with The Warning. Dan Vasc has not earned the right to be singing with Nightwish or Floor. Nightwish and Floor have been doing this since the mid-90s and Floor before joining Nightwish in 2012, started with the band After Forever in 1997 when she not even 18, then formed her own band ReVamp in 2009 and build up her reputation for years, so for me Dan needs to also prove himself before being invited to cooperate with proven artists like Floor and Nightwish.

Hi, i appreciate any comment to a performance. But don't put you in front! YOU are NOT the performer here, so why NOT put the video out for all to see? If i was to put a comment on the performance, i would put myself as small as possible, as i am not on their level! If i was, i probably wouldn't comment at all knowing MY capabilities!
