Thanks soo much to everyone who has kindly commented. I'm relieved to know there's a scientific reason for what I felt at the end of this song (and that it has a proper name)😂 In the past, I would be going through and replying to everyone's comment. It's super difficult for me to do that right now, but I promise I am scrolling through everyone's comments and seeing them and the recommendations. Thank you again and there'll be more NightWish reactions to come!

Beautiful reaction to one of my most favorite songs. If you want to dive deeper into the ocean of Nightwish and Floor Jansen I recommend Romanticide (Wacken 2013), The Poet and the pendulum (Wembley 2015) and Ghost River (Wacken 2013). Honestly you can take any song from Wacken 2013, since this was an absolutly stunning performance. Some mentioned the show The Beste Zangers which is a Dutch TV show and took place end of last year. There Floor performs solo in an environment where every episode 6 singers perform for one. So it is not a competition but a fun art act. Floor performed Shallow from Lady Gaga there for example or the Phantom of the opera or Vilja Lied and and and... All worth to watch.

Thats called a Floorgasm. The femals singer name is Floor Jansen (Dutch Valkyrie). Next I would suggest Romanticide, Ghost river, storytime, ever dream, i want my tears back and song of myself from this concert (Wacken 2013). if you want more epic and long like this take Greatest show on earth from Tampere 2016. More details from history from band will follow for sure from the incoming noghtwish army. stay safe

@@TheMuserResolute Bro, can you react on Floor + Henk Poort - Phantom of the Opera? I like that version much more than Nightwish version, it's incredibly beautiful. Henk Poort is an opera singer and original Dutch phantom. Their voices match nicely, the music arrangement is great (Marcel Fisser's band) and I love what Floor & Henk are doing on that stage, so it's not just the music but even their body language, the chemistry between them. Perfect! It's from the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers. Basically a bunch of top singers meet there and sing songs for each other. It's not a competition, just singing for each other, really nice concept. Besides Phantom, I would also recommend: * Floor - Vilja Lied (she's singing in German and it's a rock-ish opera style) she sung this for Henk * Floor - Que se siente (she's singing in Spanish for Rolf Sanchez, the guy sitting on the couch, it's his song, originally salsa) * Floor - Mama (singing in her native Dutch language) for Samantha (also sitting on the couch) who originally sings it. * Floor & Tim Akkerman - Shallow (by Lady Gaga)

Hello @ Music Teacher Reacts (Mike)! Nightwish Army incoming here, your reaction just appeared on our radar.. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing in front of a 82k+ people, at the Wacken Open Air festival. You know, what you felt in the last minute (goosebumps, full body shivers) have a name actually, it's called FLOORGASM (after Floor Jansen's name, the singer).. Watching that, I decided to subscribe, because you have the inner opening to became one of us.. Since this is your first Nightwish experience, I'll give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan: " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " Other Nightwish songs with the current lineup of the band you may like: "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6iqhHR8ltd7iMk "Song Of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 (dark/metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooLYZoSgnsl7jck "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqfOiqqFf7-ChLc "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKvCaIJ5eLafjtU "Dead Boy's Poem" - live Buenos Aires 2018 (soulful ballad) kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWmoZH9tnMx_g68 "Ghost River" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmbImqeaYqp0bKs "My Walden" live at Wembley 2015 (celtic / folk) kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ_UlnxuZZyNors "Sleeping Sun"live at Tampere 2015 (ballad) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKTSpZ-wp56qhNk "Stargazer" live at Tampere 2015 (operatic vocals / metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJmopnSGjtKSi8k "Slaying The Dreamer" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXKXZaeglrVopJI "I Want My Tears Back" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (celtic / folk vibe) kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGK4m5qlr8p8hrM "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" live In Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmOZo5Ksdr6EZrM "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere 2015 (dark metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3-VZGyGl9aVoNE "7 Days To The Wolves" live at Wembley 2015 (dark metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqfWl6p3hceKjsU And if you want to hear Floor growling :) then try "Yours Is An Empty Hope" live at Wembley 2015 kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKqvpIhthphmac0 Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg You can also react to Floor Jansen's performances in Beste Zangers 2019 (TV show from Netherlands), here is a playlist made by Floor herself (start listen it in reverse order..): kzbin.info/aero/PL8iSYWeQhlimgUnWw1FDdiJN0msPzqpLo Thank you! There is still no singer that I have heard manage to top Floor in any regard. Its insane. I hate how underappreciated singers like floor are (on a global scale). hi, nice review: some Backround Infos regarding Floor: In 1997, Floor Jansen, then 16 years old, joined the band After Forever. After Mark Jansen, one of the band's founders and not related, left the formation in 2002 to form the band Epica, she was solely responsible for the lyrics. In 1999 she began studying at the Rock Academy in Tilburg and took singing lessons at the Fontys Conservatorium (both now part of the Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten by the private university operator Fontys). In 2004 she successfully completed her studies at the academy and began part-time musical and opera studies at the conservatory. Since then she has taught, among other things at the rock academy with her own course called "Wanna Be a Star?", Or in cooperation with a music school privately at home with singing lessons, band coaching and workshops. Since joining Nightwish as a permanent member (2013), she has had to stop regular teaching due to time constraints.

Lovely reaction. I especially liked the dropping jaw at the end. :) This genre of music is called symphonic metal, is a mixture of metal and some symphonic elements, and Nightwish pretty much (co-)founded it back in the late nineties. They were founded in 1996 around a campfire in Finland and are going strong (in fact, stronger and ever stronger) until today; they just released a new album and were planning to be on tour now, but that has of course be postponed. The genre is popular in Europe and South America (more of an insider tip in North America, though), and Nightwish is its biggest band, selling millions of copies worldwide (their new album hit the charts at No. 1 in Germany, for example). The band is Finnish (Finland's biggest musical export, in fact), the vocalist (their third and IMO best) is Dutch, a sixth member who you haven't seen yet is English. Personnel: Floor Jansen - vocals (since 2012) Tuomas Holopainen - keyboards, main songwriter, band founder and leader Emppu Vuorinen - guitar Marko Hietala - bass guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals Jukka Nevalainen (on this recording, later replaced by Kai Hahto for health reasons) - drums Troy Donockley (not on this song) - uilleann pipes, whistles, bouzouki, guitar, vocals The band has had three vocalists: founding member Tarja Turunen (Finnish), who sang (now sings as a solo artist) in a dramatic operatic soprano style throughout, which was very unusual at the time combined with metal and helped spark the whole genre. She was fired in 2005 and replaced in 2006 by Anette Olzon (Swedish), who was more of pop rock singer and didn't really fit, especially live she couldn't keep up with singing Tarja's parts. She was fired mid-tour in 2012 (there's been some icky drama about both firings) - she has her own band now, The Dark Element - and replaced by Floor Jansen from the Netherlands, the vocalist in this recording. Floor has been a professional metal singer since she joined her first band, After Forever, in 1997 at age 16, has several years of musical education (musical theater and a year of opera) under her belt and used to work as a vocal coach. Her first band After Forever split up in 2009, she formed her second band, ReVamp, which has two albums and existed until 2016, and doing everything herself down to management and booking, Floor had a severe burnout, from which she was still recovering when Nightwish called her to ask her if she could step in midtour. She hopped on a plane right away and had 48 hours before her first gig with the band, in which she had to learn the setlist. Along with Troy, she was made permanent in 2013. I guess you could tell, but she is a world-class singer, a lot more versatile still than what you have heard here: she can sing opera, sweet ballads, jazz, scream, growl (!), belt like hell... Over the years, the band has pushed the boundaries of their style and was very versatile to start with. No two songs on an album really sound the same, especially in the last four albums; Tuomas really is an outstanding songwriter with an ear for good melodies and structure. They go from melancholic ballads to Celtic folk rock/metal to prog rock/metal epics like this one to outright thrash metal. They normally go heavier and faster than Ghost Love Score. I'll append a list of what I think about covers their spectrum (not completely, though, they are just too versatile) below. When you react to them, you should do the live shows, especially since they have Floor, who elevates almost every song she does and makes it into a stellar performance. There are four great concerts with Floor to choose from: Wacken 2013 (this one), Wembley Arena 2015, Tampere 2015, Buenos Aires 2018. With Tarja, their first singer, who is very, very good too in her own way and worth checking out too, there's "From Wishes to Eternity" (2000) and "End of an Era" (2005), both filmed in Finland. "End of an Era" is the very last concert with Tarja, right after the show she was given an open letter by the other band members to tell her that she was fired. (They guys in the band have matured a bit since then, and the atmosphere in the band today is finally friendly, cooperative, and brotherly. Might have something to do with Floor and Troy too.) Okay, here's my list of songs that you might want to check out: Romanticide, live at Wacken 2013 (heavy heavy metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKvCaIJ5eLafjtU Song of Myself, live at Wacken 2013 (thrashy metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooLYZoSgnsl7jck Ghost River, live at Wacken 2013 (metal, great duet between Floor and Marko) kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmbImqeaYqp0bKs Dark Chest of Wonders, Wacken 2013 (metal, high-energy opener to this show) kzbin.info/www/bejne/haeydWmumsijnpY Ever Dream, Wacken 2013 (pop rock/metal with glorious vocals by Floor) kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6iqhHR8ltd7iMk Storytime, Wacken 2013 (poppy metal with more great vocals by Floor) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqfOiqqFf7-ChLc -- In fact, all of Wacken 2013 is great, just pick any song -- Sleeping Sun, live at Tampere 2015 (beatiful ballad) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKTSpZ-wp56qhNk My Walden, live at Wembley 2015 (Celtic-infused rock) kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ_UlnxuZZyNors Nemo, live at Wembley 2015 (was a minor hit in the US back in 2004) kzbin.info/www/bejne/moOUmHtrlraKeLc Weak Fantasy, live Tampere 2015 (heavy, critical of religion) kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3-VZGyGl9aVoNE Yours Is An Empty Hope, live at Wembley 2015 (very heavy, with Floor growling in the chorus) kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKqvpIhthphmac0 Alpenglow, live Wembley 2015 (pop metal with a great positive vibe, for when your day needs brightening) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKOtp36Qg6qbbck 7 Days to the Wolves, live Wembley 2015 (personal favorite of mine, heavy, epic, energetic, watch Floor turn Warrior Queen) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqfWl6p3hceKjsU Sahara. live at Tampa Bay 2015? 2016?, from a smaller venue (Middle Eastern tinged, great vocals again, one of my favorites) kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooXZipmClpmKos0 Stargazers, live Tampere 2015 (old Tarja operatic song, fast and power-metalish) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJmopnSGjtKSi8k I Want My Tears Back, live in Buenos Aires 2018 (Celtic party metal, watch Floor tear it up on stage) kzbin.info/www/bejne/inOylZqun8djoa8 Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, live Buenos Aires 2018 (heavy, fast, great Floor/Marko duet, olympic vocals) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmOZo5Ksdr6EZrM Dead Boy's Poem, live Buenos Aires 2018 (very intimate and personal power ballad, sung touchingly by Floor) kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWmoZH9tnMx_g68 Slaying the Dreamer, live Buenos Aires 2018 (heavy, thrashy metal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXKXZaeglrVopJI Then there's the other two big epics: The Poet and the Pendulum, live Wembley 2015, and The Greatest Show On Earth (I prefer the Wembley version here, better intro, darker atmosphere, famous guest star at the end, but most fans want Tampere 2015), but I would put these off until later. They require some research as to lyrics and subject matter. And then there's the new album entitled HUMAN. :||: NATURE., which has lyric videos on YT for every song except for the song Noise, which has a superb "video video". Also, you might check out Floor's performances on a 2019 Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers, which finally catapulted her to stardom in her home country and proved what an incredibly versatile and powerful singer she is. Look for YT user "jenniezelf", she has a lot of videos from the show with English subtitles. So, if you decide to keep reacting to Nightwish, I think you have quite an enjoyable journey ahead.

Nightwish Army is incoming!) Thank you for sharing your reaction and welcome to the world of Symphonic Metal! Subbed!) I guess what you felt at the end we are calling a Floorgasm. Yes, definitely a Floorgasm) As I understood, you already saw Nightwish with Phantom Of The Opera with Tarja, but I'll put a brief band introduction here just in case ;) And yes, every NW composition is genius, just like their composer, Tuomas. Well, you've just witnessed Her Majesty Northern Valkyrie Goddess Floor Jansen (pronounced Yansen, she is Dutch). Floor indeed has classical background, rock academy behind, and used to be a vocal coach for a number of years. Floor is the most versatile and powerful female singer today and can sing anything from more pop-y style, classic opera, to metal screams and growls. Floor is a queen of singing emotions. Floor joined Nightwish in the middle of their Imaginaerum world tour in late 2012 (which includes this show from August 2013). Previous singer, Anette Olzon (she's currently in Dark Element) left the band while they were touring, and there was no certainty what to do with all the upcoming shows. They called Floor (her previous band did tour with NW in the past, and they knew each other). Floor flew immediately to help them out and temporarily replace Anette for the rest of the world tour. She arrived two days before the next show, and she had only 48 hours to learn the entire setlist. And she did. There is official documentary about all that -- "PLEASE LEARN THE SETLIST IN 48 HOURS" ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJmoqZ6jjLCAe7c ) For Floor it was first really big gig with Nightwish, 82K people, at the time she was only for a few months with the band. After the world tour (in October 2013), they made Floor their official member. This song was performed at the end of 90min show, at the 1hr 10min mark. Nightwish formed in '96 in Finland, initially with Tarja (Tar-ya) Turunen as a vocalist. She left the band in 2005, and Anette Olzon stepped in, until 2012. The bassist with a cool beard is Marco, and he sings some parts too. He has his own solo project outside the Nightwish. The mastermind behind 99% of lyrics and music is a keyboardist Tuomas. Guitarist name is Emppu, and the drummer in this show is Jukka (Yukka), but later he was replaced by Kai Hahto because of health issues. Flutes/uilleann pipes/guitar/vocals - Troy, he did not perform in this song. Nightwish is better live, always, so if live performance is available, go for it. In their performances, they often using recorded backtrack of a classical orchestra for their songs. They have very diverse music, from more light songs to epic scores like this, and to really heavy metal stuff. For the next step, I can suggest listening to: -- Storytime from the same Wacken 2013 live ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXLapa2fbLZmeM0 ) -- for move heavy: Ghost River, Song Of Myself, both from Wacken 2013 also ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXLapa2fbLZmeM0 ) ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXLapa2fbLZmeM0 ) -- If you want to explore more Floor versatility, check out her performances on a TV show Beste Zangers in 2019: (Lady Gaga's Shallow for ex.) kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2eboZhqlsRssM0 You just starting your journey with Nightwish, and be prepared to be surprised (and sometimes shocked) time and time again! Their music is very emotional and diverse. Btw, Nightwish released their new album in April -- Human. :||: Nature. Greetings from Moscow and stay safe! ;) Looking forward to seeing more NW on your channel!

I only recently stumbled onto Nightwish myself and they are tremendous performers. The Wacken 2013 concert is absolutely amazing as are all their concerts, but this one was all out. They do use a backing track on the road for the symphony work, but it was recorded with a full orchestra from what I understand. Just not feasible to move a full orchestra around. Anyway, Floor Jansen in my opinion is maybe the best vocalist I've ever heard and the band is extremely tight. I look forward to more of your reactions.

I'm a reaction junkie, and more specifically, a Nightwish reaction junkie. I can't help but love watching other people experience what I experienced listening to these songs, and especially Ghost Love Score for the first time. This might be my favorite reaction. It's not just because I can see my own initial reaction plainly displayed on your face as the song progresses through "Wow, that's a really cool intro," to "Oh, nice little simultaneous key and time signature change, hang on, that time signature is odd, isn't it?..to...Oh, ok, settling into 4/4 to...oh nice shift...to...hey, who is that..to ...... ... .... ./... .... uh..... ... wh.... ... hnnnurrrrggg.... .... ... whhh.... AND now, to thinking, we had it after that, so whatever came after that interlude wasn't going to surprise us, right??? Right??? Bueller??? Yeah. I will now pause again while Floor punches us all in the teeth with that G#/A♭ 5. AAAAAnnnndddd.... I will now go back and listen to it again.
