The ending is a triple melody with Floor, Troy and Marco all together... sounds amazing!

Nightwish has never before sounded quite like this. You three really lay it out there. The singing, overall, is audibly the most advanced thing on this album in comparison to all previous Nightwish records. Marko: - It actually came as a bit of natural continuation when we started doing the Decades Tour rehearsals, that’s when we figured out that with this line-up we can definitely add something that will be heard, something different to the original songs when we do live harmonies. Well, it was so fun that here we are, all over the new album. Floor: - It inspired us to continue that, not just live, but also on the album, it set the foundation to do this. Marko: - Yeah, it’s the arsenal of our three different voices, when we put them together - their tones and their combinations, no one else is going to have that. Floor: - No, it’s unique colors. It was lovely to play with that. It was an honor for me to work more in-depth now with Troy and again, with Marko as we did on the previous album Endless Forms where I… um, I’m a good lead vocalist but I’m not a very good backing vocalist. Let’s put it that way. I find it difficult to find a good backing vocalist. It’s something I’ve never done much and Troy is just brilliant in it. Troy is a fantastic addition of ideas and colours. And when the three of us sit down, all of a sudden new things come and new possibilities occur and they challenge me to say all kinds of weird shit. *chuckles * What was it again, now? Marko: - I just love the campfire sessions we had, when you’ve got people sitting with natural voices and then you start to nail the harmonies and start to sound fresh. Like close-up human singing. It’s a process that feeds itself, like wow, let’s do more! ~ Just love this article and Q&A www.impe.fi/articles/1/2905

Correct - line is in Elan - the meeting /child bit is written specifically for Floor - a gift from Tuomas

The second verse is a reiteration of Floor and her husband Hannes' love story, and how she became a Mum.

I think that the first verse is about kindness, caring and love in general. Tuomas wrote the second verse ("We met where the cliff greets sea...and so on) about Floor. Very beautiful song with beautiful message.

I like how you repeat the song so that you can do a better analysis and catch things that you missed before, you are one of the few that get interested in the lyrics and take the time to talk about them. Good stuff. And yeah "meet me where the cliffs meet the sea" is from Elan, from the previous album. Tuomas likes to do that a lot. I heard that part of the verse is about Floor and Hannes (his husband, also drummer of Sabaton), but i didn't see it confirmed. The one doing the low voice in the end i'm pretty sure it's Marko, Troy harmonizes as well in the different choruses but i don't think the low voice is him.

Drum beat under Troy pipe part is in the pattern of a heart beat. As is the guitar riffs later in the song. Amazing

tuskinekinase thank you for your ask. We are not close, just mid school friend, but this really make me sad. He have wife and children. I dont know what terrible thing can force him chose to do that. And the thing make me sad the most is “I dont know”. If we were closer, maybe I would know something, or maybe I could help? I just wonder

I don’t remember if it’s the third or fourth line that makes the reference but I thought it was pretty funny because I happen to be both poor and in exile. It’s such an amazing coincidence that I can’t help but laugh!

There are two kinds of people. Those who don't pay much attention to lyrics. They may treat music as melody, rhythm and sound. Clearly you're not with that lot. You're with us. A song can carry a message if you think about it's meaning. Sometimes you can unlock the songwriters words, thoughts and emotions. To be able to feel what other person feels is one form of empathy. It is a gift. Nothing to be ashamed for.

Nice reaction!! Very beautiful song, and easy to understand what it says, or is it? if you dont know it, it might be hard to hear that the song besides being a tribute to a human paen, also is a celebration of Floor meeting her husband, and giving birth to her child... so i bet this song got a place in the heart of both Floor, and Tuomas, and maybe all in the band, and Floor must have looked twice at the text, when Tuomas did show it to her first time.. The song links to Elan.. 2015 - Élan "Meet me where the cliff greets the sea" "Free fall awaits the brave" "Write the lyric for the song only you can understand" 2020- How's the Heart "We met where the cliff greets the sea Shared a story, took the leap Rose up rooted, hid a note You know where You`ve been there Im pretty sure its all 3 in the fadeout, Troy being heard a little more than Marko, who does a very quiert voice there..

Also, the heart is often referred to by older generation as your 'ticker' like a watch. I thought that was pretty slick of him. I never heard either get anywhere near that low, so they may flip it a little live, but I'm sure it'll be great.

I’m just going with what several sites say: Dutch form of Florentius (see FLORENCE) or FLORA. I was talking about the meaning of the name not the literal translation, which as I see it is bloem.

Nice guitar riff in the middle...and naturally confirmed quality by Tuomas as You said the video finalizing all. I think in the end Troy came in and Marko did his share so they had three singers for a while. By the way ...do you know any "bad" song by them ? I don't...only good, better and most being totally awesome.

The band can be as good as is humanly possible but Nightwish would not have made an impact if Tuomas wasn’t such a talented composer and lyricist.

Just realised that this is Tuomas’ lovestory too. The picture where the couple stands side by side has a background from their first album Angels Fall First with red and a tree and it looks like the shadows of a man and a woman really look like Tuomas and Johanna ❤️❤️❤️
