It actually might be composed as Floor and Marko in mind for vocalists, because Tuomas started to compose these next Album (Yesterwynde) songs on 2020 when the COVID-19 isolations and Human || Nature Tour was cancelled and Marko left Nightwish on 12 January 2021. So if this was the first song of Next Album it might have been too far to totally re-compose. But I think it is a banger also without Marko and we all can have our own opinions, nothing wrong about it. Also the next Album is the 3rd Album of Trilogy, starting from the "Endless Forms most Beautiful", so that's why there are some familiar elements, because the Theme in these 3 Albums is the same (=Evolution), just the Viewpoint or Emphasis is changing per Album. Again a great Reaction Guys :)

19:18 There is still 1-4% of Neanderthal genes in humans, some have more some less. It has been studied that those N-genes makes us little different from others. If you want to get up really early in the morning that seems to be caused by N-genes. Also big factor is fertility, it is better with people who has Neanderthal in them. But it makes them also candidates for depression, for skin cancer and blood clots. But at the same time people with N-genes are much more resistant against stomach ulsers and Helicobacter pylori that causes cancer. Neanderthals and Homo Sapiens lived side by side some 45k years ago. This song is amazing time travel to our emotions. Very touching lyrics. And I did not need Marko singing in this, Floor and the choir were enough, maybe it could have finished without Troy singing imo. Just with piano.

This entire thread is the exact reason why I don’t like to read comments in general…… It just turns into people attacking other people or attacking the music or what have you and it’s very very ugly…….. more I read the more I’m realizing that these discussions are not actually about the music it’s about each other. It’s turned into what feels like one big narcissistic party that I don’t want to be a part of. We all have reasons why we enjoy the music of Nightwish whether you wanna call it symphonic metal or a little poppy at times or a little classical or folky at times the one thing that we can all say about Nightwish is that their music is very dynamic it’s hard to put them in a box that’s why and I don’t like it when people call them symphonic metal because they are only symphonic metal For some songs. This was the first reaction that I have seen and I’ve seen about 30 where the reactor said that they wish that Marco was in the song. I don’t have a problem with them saying that it’s not up to me whether they are right or wrong. It’s their opinion and they are entitled to it, just needs to

In my opinion: The band is exceedingly talented, with Commander Floor and Human Bleeping Drum Machine Kai Hahto legitimate superstars in their field. That's a given, and I do love them all, despite the undeniable toxicity that I guess is inevitable to some degree today in a major band's fan base. Some more than others... Having said that, what stands out here? The video production is impressive, but we've come to expect that. The message is good and strong and well presented. It really HAS taken A LOT for each of us to be alive, in a human body walking on this world, and that seems to be taken for granted by too many today, but it's actually pretty miraculous to pause and think about, so a special tip o' the hat to Master Holopainen there. Composition? Solid. He's still a gifted composer. Any new ground broken? Not really, and I'm not saying that's necessarily a demerit. Catchy and instantly echoing down the halls of my soul for the next week or two in the 'older' Nightwish style like Storytime or Song of Myself for example? Not really, at least for me, but we're all a little different and it may just be mostly me as far as that goes. Strong bass from Jukka, glad we can hear him, he's really good. Monstrous drums from Kai, glad we can hear him, too, he's an amazing drummer. Emppu seems throttled down, like way down, almost drowning in the orchestration. Hope we hear him much more in the rest of the album. Guy vocals are there and adequate, but... Marko had such a distinctive, attention-grabbing style (in a good way) and could be a real savage when he wanted... his emotional range and ability to connect burned hot and bright... big shoes to fill and it's only natural to notice that he's gone here. Floor... I don't think this song was meant to showcase her and I would be very surprised if other songs from the album have her placed 'just somewhere in the choir' as much as this. The right choice for a first taste of such an anticipated album? Questionable, but I'm happy to have some new Nightwish. Those determined to be wowed will be and those determined to be underwhelmed will be. I'll see myself out. Thanks for being here, guys. We appreciate you.

Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is perfume around in a timeless world, being around you still, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape.. I listened to this song maybe 50 times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when i can do so to me. Some say Floors voice is low in the mix, and i can agree its hard to get all words she sing, but if you look at it soundwise it sounds amazing!! and after a listen or 2, you know most of lyrics, and its no problem at all, its done fully on purpose for the sound experince of it.. cant wait for rest of album!! "Perfume of the Timeless" Released: 21 May 2024 The title of the album is a word made by band member Troy Donockley, which Holopainen describes as the feeling of time, history, memory, and being connected to past generation, who have "all had their lives, their ups and downs, and they don't exist anymore, except as atoms scattered all over the universe. And we're going to be in that state pretty soon as well. So that should give you something to think about." Holopainen has described the album as being about humanism, history, and the inspiration thereof, and that outlook of the album is positive and optimistic ] Track listing All tracks are written by Tuomas Holopainen. Honestly I don't miss Marko at all in this song. It even surprised me that I didn't miss him as much for the Human Nature tour as I thought I would. In my opinion the importance of Marko in Nightwish diminished the moment Troy became a full-time member of Nightwish. For better or worse (not everyone is probably liking the change of direction) . Imo it was also one of the contributors why he has left the band.

I usually don't like when people keep bringing back past members of bands, saying it misses him/her in the song, etc. But on that song, I had exactly the same feeling. Loved it, but it was like if I was hearing Marco's voice (in my head) in the chorus or some other parts of the song, like if it lacks it. That clearly is a song for him.

The only criticism i have is the volume of Floor's vocals at some parts and all Nightwish "fan's know how it could be with Marco ,it's a pitty but i think it is useless to think this way,you also could argue how this would sound with Anette or Tarja ,it's wasted time.😏

When I heard Troy's part in the end my thoughts also went to Marko to be honest. And I think he could have been great for the chorus, too. As you said, it's not about wanting him back necessarily but he was a part of Nightwish and we know what his voice sounds like on Tuomas' songs so it would be odd to expect no one to think about how he would have sounded on a particular track. For me his voice always added something special, an extra depth.

I feel like the vocals are a bit quiet in the chorus. I love the orchestra, but I can barely hear Floor. Otherwise I really love it. The last part with Troy is super beautiful. I also agree that Marko would have been great together with Floor.

I agree with you that it is not a 10 out 10 song, but I don't think it has to be with Marko. I really didn't miss him here. In my opinion, it would be the transitions, some are stranges (not as progressive as they pretend to be), and the high gain of the guitar at the heavy part, which make it sound blackie. I also think it is a little bit repetitive with the chorus, they play it a total of 6 times.

@@MikkoRantalainen there whole statement doesn't make sense. It's symphonic metal it's supposed to be atmospheric and eye opening. The eye opening part is where Tuomas comes in. As far as Marco goes, he claims he left Nightwish for mental reasons. But now he's singing with Tarja. The Almighty dollar is why he left. Period. I love Marco but I have to say bye bye to him.
@GlobalTossPot6 ай бұрын
@@tomdog78 Marko also stated he left because he didn’t care for the business side of Nightwish. Still odd seeing he’s playing it up with a bunch of different projects now. I also get people missing his vocals but I mean what is Tuomas suppose to do, just disband the band because of it? Not make music for Nightwish because he left? Some people are making it seem that way. It’s common sense to go into this new album knowing he’s not on it. It’s fine to have an opinion and not like the song but completely bash something Tuomas has no control over is a bit much. Bands are damned if they do, damned if they don’t these days.

You are on a circular line of thought...I am sure if Jukka were back the drums would be different, if Tarja were back the vocals would be different, on and on. I have never said that I missed them on a song since they left because I have never missed them on a song. I don’t miss Marko in Nightwish, what I said is that this is a song that misses his vocals. That is not the same. You need to look at music and see what serves it not who is serving it.

I don't miss Marko in this song at all. Listen a few times more. In this song you hear the choir of the ancestors, and the intention is not to let some voices stand out. It would actually diminish the experience. That's why this is a fantastic song even without Marko.

Some probability calculations: Step 1. Probability of boy meeting girl: one in 20,000. Step 2. Probability of same boy knocking up same girl: one in 2000. Step 3. Probability of right sperm meeting right egg: one in 400 quadrillion. Step 4. Now lets assume that you have just those 12 generations of ancestors mentioned in the intro to this song. For the probability of every one of those 12 generations of your ancestors having reproduced successfully with right sperm having met the right egg is 400 quadrillion to the 12th power. Given these 4 steps, the probability of you being born you at the present moment is 20k x 2k x 400 quadrillion to the 13th power. Going backwards in time with even more generations of your ancestors, we soon reach a probability of 1 divided by the number of atoms in the entire universe. This makes each one of us a unique miracle.

Human kind originated from a place called Odenmaa. Modern day Finland. It used to be tropical. Check it out. It is "forbidden" information to date. The Bock Saga; Väinämöinen mythology. Disclaimer: you will face MUCH opposition and ridicule to this. Human kind originates NOT from Africa or anywhere else mainstream for that matter that you've been told (or you've read). Well; Oden simply means " the sun". Garden of Oden (not "Eden"). A single family from Finland (Vinland) carried this ancient information - The Bock family (Pukki). The last Bock was Ior Bock. Tropical: ALL humans used to be of dark skin (due tropical climate). Then came the Ice Age; Alt-Land-Is (all land ice). "Atlantis" is a misdirection / misinterpretation .. Socrates spake of "Hyperborea" - it means absolute north. His description matches even the modern Finnish shorelines. The original "pagan" culure was almost completely destroyed by forces of Vatican (in all of Europe). Finland was the last bastion of this ye olden nature loving culture. This Odenmaa's (modern day Finland) center was HEL (current day HELsinki) - the original north pole. Earth's "axis" turned - became Alt-Land-Is (all land ice). The people (and animals) inside the tall ice walls for centuries - therefore lost their pigment; became "white". Polar bears, lambs, chickens... (arctic types). Keep your mind open, when researching The Bock Saga. Sa= means to get. Ga= means to give. It is about so called Root and Van (one) language. These two are the first *primal* languages from where ALL languages of modern originate. All that being said; Darwin (in his theories) got surprisingly much right.
