A comment below said that I should know Nightwish. I understand why someone would make that comment when the only thing you know about me is that "I'm a Norwegian living in Copenhagen". I've copy/pasted my answer so YOU other Nightwish fans get to know me as other subbers has gotten to know me (I couldn't pin my answer): "I used exactly the same term "feels like I've been living under a rock" when I recently reacted to Falling In Reverse and "Popular Monster". And I understand your comment as you don't know my lifestory. Very briefly I've been a singlemom of two sons in a strange country since they were 3 and 5 years old. They are both neurodivergent- a "inheritary gift" from me. The youngest has auDHD and his been in a bad place for many years and out little family has been living in a "combat zone". The same goes for my oldest that have ADHD and he has been struggeling throughout 2024. I'm not gonna lie, it's been hard. NOW they're both in a great place (as you can see tomorrow as I'm reacting with my oldest son Viggo from time to time). My story is known to the Renegades and Maidiacs (Ren fans & Band-Maid fans). I've NEVER claimed to be a Metal expert of any kind. I just look like a "metal head". I started out on YT as an Neurodiversity Awareness account and I used empirical examples from Ren and his "Kujo Beat Down"- as it's a perfect examples of rage in connection with injustice and unfairness. Then a sweet Ren fan asked med to react to Ren's Seven Sins from that video, and from that a lot of people requested me to react. It was never my own plan or agenda to do so. That was in October, now it's the last day of December. SO I'm just a mom that finally has resurfaced from living under the stone. One thing you can trust from my side is that I'm always honest and direct and I don't try to be someone I'm not. I hope that give you an insight of why Nightwish and "all other" artists in unknown to me." My sons are 18 and 20 now. Peace & Love ❤🕊

@@damienmaynard8892 Thank you so much🙏🏻 Yes, but my Norwegian heart is more like the DNA in me. I've been living in Copenhagen for so long that I'm more of a Copenhagener or a hybrid-Norwegian. I know more current danish bands than Norwegian actually. And the metal scene in Norway didn't speak to me in the 80's like US bands did. I've got an extremely versatile taste in music and you will watch me nod my head to most genres. It depends on my mood and emotions❤

Ann Waychoff was a dedicated Nightwish fan who would rally many other fans together and always seeking new reactors promoting Nightwish. It was through her leadership the Nightwish army was truly born. Gabriel had taken over after her passing and has done an amazing tireless job of continuing the lead which is why he is called the General. Any fan can be a member but it's about loyalty. My ancesters fought in both World wars one died in France WW1 part of the trench warfare there. As i'm from New Zealand i sometimes call in as Nightwush army NZ Trench division calling in. Enjoy this amazing talented band we all love and enjoy.

Thank you for your reaction. You were asking about the Nightwish Army. It is a fan base of Nightwish from the all over the world. Perhaps about 1 million+ fans. We love to support and introduce new people to Nightwish. We never get tired listening Nightwish, because all of their song are little bit or sometimes a lot of different than others. These songs are pretty much art with the deep emotions and deep meanings. In their live performances, you can see how the band and the audience connect and share feelings to each other. The "Nightwish Army" Divisions is just a joke among ourselves. Several years ago someone was looking for a collective name for the fanbase. Many options were floated. "Nightwishers," for example, was very uncreative and failed to capture the unique enthusiasm of our fanbase. Someone, a reactor I think it was, said that we were like an army marching in to their subscriber base once they started listening to Nightwish. That begged the name 'Nightwish Army" in a very organic and accidental way. The name just stuck, and here we are. The whole army division thing was later added as a way of indicating that the fanbase is worldwide with different enthusiasts hailing from widely distributed places. So we started spontaneously introducing ourselves as being the "Army Division" from this country or that country or U.S. State. Now it has become a bit of inside humor among us.

For instance, If you really did like Floor's voice I'd normally suggest you look at her more recent solo projects to pick from - the focus is more on her than her having to share the stage with the big band - loud band. But also, her ability to cross genre's at the same level as you found her here. I believe there a lot of human gems living under rocks ;) There is nothing whiney about Ren at all. To me he is a musical genious that mixes genres and has unmatched storytelling skills. A lot of his song are mindblowing and he has like plot twists and takes you by surprised. I've not seen or heard nothing like it yet. You should know Nightwish, unless you've been living under a rock. You were born in the country with the third highest concentration of metal bands and live in the country with the fifth highest (if I leave out the microstates with under 200 Bands). This song reached number 4 in the Norwegian singles charts in 2004. Here is the original with the first singer Tarja: Nightwish - Nemo [OFFICIAL VIDEO] This reached number 19: Nightwish - Wish I Had An Angel (LIVE) The accompanying album made it to number 1 in the album charts. The subsequent albums also appeared there. The last two didn't make it. In Denmark, Nightwish was somehow overlooked, as they hardly have any chart positions. But when the singers changed in 2007 and 2015, the new albums suddenly hit the charts. Nightwish are well known, but fly under the radar. As a Finn, I say that I wouldn't start pointing fingers at Norway-Finland metal connections and knowledge, if you don't know the details. The Norwegian-Finnish metal music connection and interest is most visible in the Black Metal scene. Many reasons for it, but Nightwish actually has never been that big of a deal for Swedes and Norwegians.

I used exactly the same term "feels like I've been living under a rock" when I recently reacted to Falling In Reverse. And I understand your comment as you don't know my lifestory. Very briefly I've been a singlemom of two sons in a strange country since they were 3 and 5 years old. They are both neurodivergent- a "inheritary gift" from me. The youngest has auDHD and his been in a bad place for many years and out little family has been living in a "combat zone". The same goes for my oldest that have ADHD and he has been struggeling throughout 2024. I'm not gonna lie, it's been hard. NOW they're both in a great place (as you can see tomorrow as I'm reacting with my oldest son Viggo from time to time). My story is known to the Renegades and Maidiacs (Ren fans & Band-Maid fans). I have NEVER claimed to be a Metal expert of any kind. I just look like a "metal head". I started out on YT as an Neurodiversity Awareness account and I used empirical examples from Ren and his "Kujo Beat Down"- as it's a perfect examples of rage in connection with injustice and unfairness. Then a sweet Ren fan asked med to react to Ren's Seven Sins from that video, and from that a lot of people requested me to react. It was never my own plan or agenda to do so. That was in October, now it's the last day of December. SO I'm just a mom that finally has resurfaced from living under the stone. One thing you can trust from my side is that I'm always honest and direct and I don't try to be someone I'm not. I hope that give you an insight of why Nightwish and "all other" artists in unknown to me.

It still shows a general mood in the country and Nightwish used to be on mainstream radio in Norway and Europe around 2006. Since then, the environment for all rock bands has worsened.

The Nightwish Army is simply the fanbase. Army is a good term as it describes how the fans descend on channels playing Nightwish. You experienced some of that with the first song you reacted to and since this is one of the fan favorites, you should get many views, likes and comments. A few people don't like the term "Army". I was in the military for 20 years and a strong military keeps all free countries free. I'm in Virginia USA and our military defeated invaders a few centuries ago so we could live free. I intend to stay that way. Perhaps the people that don't like the word Army are living in a country under authoritarian rule. 😄🤘

But within music fandoms, I think it’s often used to describe a sense of unity and shared passion, rather than anything militaristic. I don't like the name Nightwish Army at all. The current world political situation makes it even more repulsive. At least that's how I feel as a European. Users of the name will probably find it playful and funny. I don't.

I was very curious about the terminology and felt a little bit “lost”. But it seems to me like they’re an army of Nightwish lovers. I understand that not everyone wants to be called an “army”. It’s very descriptive for a new NW reactor as me and I understand why it’s just meant to be playful.
