Thank you, Ryan, for the beautiful shout-out. I saw your reaction in the morning, but today I had to run fast, and all day I worked at a fast pace, so only now in the evening I managed to comment properly. Yes, we are all very passionate about Nightwish, and I hope that didn't upset you. It is understandable, because many of us have practically returned to life because of them. So many of us feel the need to give them something back, at least to make them better known, if we can't do otherwise. Please do not feel obliged to follow exactly the list in the first comment. You will surely receive other recommendations. You will find that Nightwish does not have bad songs. New subscriber. All the best, from Romania! :)

Any community has its percentage of trolls and haters; just ignore them. The Nightwish Army appreciates people who genuinely appreciate Nightwish, and you obviously do. Personally I don't mind pausing for commentary as long as you rewind a few seconds to keep the continuity. Some of our favorite reactors pause a lot because they just have a lot of insightful observations to make. Anyone who wants to listen to the whole song uninterrupted can do so if you put a link to the original video in the description.

Great reaction. For me, it’s better to stop the video to react than to talk all the way across it. What’s really interesting is you were the second new reactor to do this song within a couple of hours. You where clearly blown away by the heavier side of Nightwish. The other reactors weren’t ready for the heavy side, and they can be guided down a different path, but you will both eventually arrive at the same place and agree that this band are the most entertaining band out there, and Floor has no equal as an all round vocalist and performer in any genre of music! Good luck with your journey 😎

Gabriel's play list is terrific. I suggest you react to this concert(Wacken 2013)one song at a time. It will give you a chance to explore each of the band members. 15 songs, and ALL are GREAT! Then treat yourself to the concert, uninterrupted, just for yourself. NO PAUSES! Trust me, it will be the best 1 hour 38 minutes and 8 seconds of live music you have ever seen. Rock on! Nightwish is a trip with no turning back. They have 3 particular songs that are kinda like the odyssey of each era. You already did the first one, which was "Ghost Love Score", from the first era. Check "The Poet And The Pendulum" from the second era and finally "The Greatest Show On Earth", from the third. You will never be the same after these 2 songs. P.s.: For those, do with lyrics.

Hi Ryan! I´m glad that you did find Nightwish. I´m sure I did look like you when I first time discovered Nightwish. For me they are the most captivating band. Floor can sing anything she wants, from growling to a real soprano. Floor´s stage presence is on the level of her own, as you showed you´re easily in her fist. She is a Queen with a powerful, yet angelic and colourful voice. We are today so lucky that we have here now one of the best ever bands, and at least for me, she is the best vocalist and performance ever. You don´t have to apologize for your breaks, it´s ok., as you are reacting. Anyway I liked your reacts to this masterpiece. Thank you. Stay safe. Greets from Finland.

@@RyanMear Yes, like I said in my previous comment to you. We enjoy watching others discover this amazing band and will not fault you for wanting to watch this entire concert. As it is known among us and all those who watch it, it was Legendary, once in a lifetime, where everything was perfect from band, sound technicians, pyrotechnics and of course the crowd/fans. All just fell into place that night. However, following Gabriel's list is also recommended as Nightwish can't be contained by a single "sound". You will find that they jump all over from metal like this song, melodic and epic storytelling, like "Ghost Love Score", they also do Jazz and Folk Metal and everything in between. Following Gabriel's list will give you a good taste of just what this band is capable of and show you just how amazing they are, no matter which concert you are watching. Enjoy the journey my friend. I subscribed, because of Nightwish and your reaction video. 😁 The whole Nightwish Wacken 2013 concert is epic. Perfect sound, perfect band, perfect setlist (every song is better than the other) and a perfect Floor in front of 82,000 people. A small village in Germany that is shaken by rock and crowds once a year. With this band you brought mad people into your house in the best possible sense. It can happen that things get crazy here. But in principle it's all just pure passion. Basically we are all a nice bunch shaped by this band and their songs. This band doesn't get the strength from aggression, like many others in the metal genre, but from beauty and a good feeling

Storytime and Ever Dream are slightly more conventional rockers (in comparison to this one and GLS) if you choose one of them next. Lol, you are just starting the journey but everyone will help you along. NW sell out everywhere they go in the world with the strange exception of North America, but exposure like this will always help. As Martine told you, the writing is exceptional, so much so that Thomas who writes the songs is nicknamed The Metal Mozart due the amazing compositions which do sometimes go unnoticed by watchers, this will become more apparent when you get to songs like The Poet And The Pendulum but this song should not be seen until you have explored many more songs or before you learn the history of that one. Once the painful history behind the song is known, it will make far more sense and maybe give you a tear, maybe. Before that though there are so many fun tracks to get your teeth into, just sit back and enjoy, catch you soon

Nice reaction! Don’t mind the pause haters…if they want to watch the uninterrupted video, they can do that easily. Anyway, I think you’d like Song of Myself from this same Wacken 2013 show. I’m fact, you mentioned watching the whole concert…I recommend it!

It's generally accepted that the "don't pause the video" comments are bullshit and should be plainly ignored, don't worry. We come to reaction videos for the reaction, not the video! We'll go watch it uninterrupted when we want that! XD
@Nrde3 жыл бұрын
if the pause is correctly timed, then left arrow to go back 5 seconds there's no harm whatsoever. In general reactor should learn to use the keyboard commands instead of trying to figure and guess the place with mouse clicks. I'.e., learn to command youtube. Not saying it was a problem with this video. Great reaction, good to see another devoted fan being born :)

Those triplets in the solo and then Emppu doubles them!..... Marko's "WOOF!" and then the pyros start!..... 11:43 - 11:53 Floor-raid siren! G3 - D6. Queen to D6, checkmate! ...... Well - we haven't forgotten how you wrote that Floor was not so much into screaming and growling. This little sirene she pulled off...😏 You are spot on with your observations - Nightwish are so tight never overdoing anything - but just enough to ensure the perfect experience for the audience. Nice to see how you enjoy having found something new that actually rocks you 👍. Some reactors do 2 - 3 songs in a row, following the setlist, to get more of the concert vibe - you could consider that. By sticking to the Wacken 2013 concert for now, you will be able to explore the evolution Nightwish went into, when Floor and Troy became permanent members. On Wacken 2013 Floor is singing old songs not written to her voice - but she certainly made them her own. Later on the Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015, Buenos Aires 2018 and on the Human Nature album - the songs are written to Floor's voice - and even challenges her abilities - on their new album (Human Nature), you will experience some completely unique songs, technically impossible to perform to singers - except Floor. But you have around 100 songs before we get to that - unless you join us in the Virtuel Live Nightwish concert in 9 days!! I suggest you look up the setlist from Wacken 2013 - start from Dark Chest of Wonders - the opening song (many in the 82.000 in the audience hadn't seen Floor in Nightwish before) - and then work you through the setlist. This concert are legendary... Greetings from Nightwish Army Denmark 🇩🇰 👍 💪 🤘 🤘 🤘

I forgot about the crowd never having seen Floor perform with them! That's kind of huge... it seems like she had been a part of it forever in that show. Wow. I think I'm doing that first song next. I have a couple ready to go, but I'll going to get to it! DARK CHEST OF WONDERS

Yup. You nailed it. We love watching people experience Nightwish for the first time. Helps us relive it 🤘 Definitely agree to follow Gabriel's list - he's the man! For some reason "The Poet and the Pendulum" and "The Greatest Show on Earth" aren't in his "Welcome to the Army" comment on your GLS video (I just checked). You'll hear about them and can choose when you do them (wait a while then read their wikipedia/fan page about them before doing your reaction). Anyway, I highly recommend you choose the video versions with visible lyrics. It will greatly enhance your experience for those two specifically - especially since you seem to like getting lost in lyrics as seen in your GLS reaction 😆 Many reactors have watched those two without them and get lost to a degree that could be avoided if the lyrics were in front of them. • Poet and the Pendulum w/ lyrics: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGW5l6xrrqisY8U (Official Nightwish channel) • Greatest Show on Earth w/ lyrics: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJ2ZnYicfrKefa8 (Ron B channel)

Its a reaction video, you're supposed to stop it and comment lol. Most people have no issues with that. They might get a bit annoyed if you stop it in the middle of guitar solos or if you cut off Floors high notes, but if you rewind the video like 10 seconds whenever you do stop, you should be fine. It just makes the listening experience more enjoyable. Great job on the reaction, dont let a few negative trolls ruin your day!
@MicheleNicole3 жыл бұрын
Ok, I do have a suggestion, can you do Nightwish - Bye Bye Beautiful? I prefer the version with their second singer, Anette. This song was written by Tuomas, and was written as a goodbye to the first singer, Tajra. Use the official music video. Also, you must react to Nightwish's version of Phantom of the Opera, and do the version with Tajra - the official live.

One tip I've seen given is that you can use the j key to jump back 10 seconds when you pause the video. I usually watch reactions to Nightwish to see things about the songs from another perspective I may not have noticed. It refreshes the song for me and typically shuffle the playlist around to find other versions of that song or just relisten to it again.
