I have never listened to a band like Nightwish. Everything they have done, at least everything I have so far listened to, I love. And, unlike with other bands, every time I start to listen to one of their longer epics, I always listen the whole way through, and never stop it early. It's testament to Tuomas's genius in composing that he keeps the listener enthralled, with all his transitions and switches. Even the Poet and the Pendulum and Greatest Show on Earth never seem as long as they are. This particular performance has a real wall of sound feel, like a James Bond theme. And then there's Emppu's solo. Just what is required, no more, no less, and none the less for it. 'Sculpted', as you say.

This song is such a joy to listen to. As much as I love this version from Wembley and still consider it the ultimate version, I was pleasantly surprised that Floor and Troy could pull it off without Marco in their Virtual show. They did really good on this song. Love your reactions! And I DO LOVE NW! The title is taken from a King's novel called “Wolves of the Calla”. But the conception of the book has nothing to do with the text behide the song, it is far more inspired by the film "Dead Poets' Society". The main idea is - one must live his life the best he can, to strive for his aims, because the wolves are always 7 days behind you and they will cath you if your life is not of full value... and then you will be only dead meat. That's what Tuomas said in one interview couple of days ago...

Thank you. I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure it'll work out, elbow-wise. Strewth? More specifically what's it mean?

I'm writing this today, two years earlier than you will read it... APPROX. Have you seen and heard this before? NIGHTWISH - How's The Heart - acoustic version? If not, you have to watch it... Of course, all of Floor's performances from "Beste Zangers" as well...
