this is a comment of Phantom of the Opera (which lacks showmanship/presence as it's about the song), but it's really about Tarja's stage performance/presence in other songs: Tarja has her own stage performance/presence, but the focus is on the entire band (much more respectful), unlike with floor, where the focus is almost entirely on her, and also, Phantom of the Opera isn't about that much showmanship, so you're not seeing more of Tarja's performance/presence (love how the camera work and Tarja worked together, with her ducking down, seeing Marcus as he delivered his singing, and then Tarja stands back up, seeing her face back in the camera as Marco's part ends and hers begins again, Tarja is really such a team player, as she could have had all the focus upon herself, like Floor gets, but instead she chooses to give the entire band the respect and focus that they too deserve, it's not all about Tarja, like it is with Floor, despite how good Tarja is and thus how she could be the entire focus with nightwish, as is Floor with nightwish) there's other songs, where Tarja was way way way more stage performance/presence/showmanship, including hair windmills, rocking an invisible guitar along with empuu rocking his guitar, along with her doing her squatting too as she sings and taps her foot/leg to it, as she's swinging those hips too, along with her getting the crowd involved as well too, and etc stuff, you got to watch way more songs, to really see her amazing stage presence/performance and showmanship, as Phantom of the Opera is likely the one song with the least of that stuff, due to the nature of the song itself, being about their singing (contrasting and then cacophonous harmonous duet, nothing can compete with Tarja and Marco voices duet'ing), though Marco and Tarja had a bit of showmanship and fun snuck into it, with Marco pointing to his face and Tarja's facial expression reactions, while both song their parts (especially with younger/earlier Tarja and her songs, she's more aggressive and active, she's really amazing)

It doesn't hurt at all. It's just like your opinion, man. To me, it sounds like Tarja often can't decide on when to use standard or opera voice. Her voice just keeps dangling somewhere between the two.

@@Klojum Oh now I understand - if Tarja sings opera all the time, it’s a bad thing and if Tarja doesn’t sing opera all the time, it’s also a bad thing - poor Tarja, it’s so hard to be versatile in the right way and anyway the wind blows as the floor fans rotate.

@@terox3282 indeed. It's the same thing as if someone says, that Floor can't decide if she should growl, scream, belt or put some grit on it. These are just artistic choices, and I really love how Tarja sang this song. Usually I love Tarja and Floor pretty much equally, but this is one of those, which goes to Tarja by pretty clear margin.

​@@NightwishArena The versions of Floor and Tarja are completely different, there is nothing alike between their singing in this song, Floor sings with growling in places, and at the end, when Marco shouts, Floor at this time rises to a high note of the sixth register, then the lower register drops. Floor here in operatic notes, does not include his full operatic voice, only at the end of long operatic notes ooooo) Floor makes his voice wide and makes it more operatic, adds vibrato, Tarja has these operatic notes sound all wider, more operatic, but Floor sings here higher notes, so it will not be correct to compare them in this song, there is nothing to compare, here is a matter of taste.

I'm w Dolly...Marko is the best part...dang, this makes us all feel old! Although I prefer Marko in the kilt (Mexico City show) more so than the.casual shorts.
