Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

This is one of the few jazz influenced songs from Nightwish. This is a very unique song for Nightwish. Yes, Tuomas. He pronounces it as Too-ohmas. It's a Finnish thing. I Love Tarja, but I am a major Floor fan. See you for the next one. Floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤘🤘

Musically they go all over the place. They have never been afraid to try new things and it's one of the big reasons why this band has been so much fun over the years. Tuomas (keys) is a composer and lyricist of the band, mastermind behind the band. Like Wang Tang said, the ladies are not the only ones who can sing in this band. Check Nightwish - High Hopes (End Of An Era DVD), their tribute to Pink Floyd.

This performance was from Montreux Jazz Festival 2012, in Switzerland. The song is the only jazzy Nightwish song. Tuomas wrote it for Anette to sing, because she had been introduced to jazz by her mother. Anette handles jazzy vocals very well. I like it because it is so ditterent from other Nightwish songs. Later Floor has sung "Slow Love Slow" with Nightwish, not very often though. She has sung the song as a solo artist as well. As an example that metal bands are not loud with screaming vocals all the time. There is still quite a lot of prejudice against heavy/metal music in The Netherlands, where Floor is from, even though she lives in Sweden now.

I really appreciated that you sampled a song from each of the lead singers. Slow, Love, Slow is one of my favorite Anette era songs, and I hadn't seen this video before, so thanks for reacting to it. I saw at least one comment suggesting that you should check out Marko's lead vocal performances, such as High Hopes. Also, The Islander is an awesome song with Marko in the lead. And of course, 'Phantom of the Opera' with Tarja is phenomenal. I could go on and on, because there are so many epic songs - you'll see in time. Nightwish Army - Minnesota branch.

Hi Critical, there is another amazing Symphonic Metal band you absolutely need to check out, they are called EPICA, they are from the Netherlands (same as Floor), another incredible female lead singer Simone Simons, this is a live performance from earlier this year, in Amsterdam: EPICA - Unleashed (Live At The AFAS Live)

Marko was the second vocalist, Jonsu was the third (single "Erämaan viimeinen"), Anette was fourth, Floor fifth änd Troy is number six.

I like Slow Love Slow. I visualize Tuomas (Keyboards) writing the song thinking about his method of constructing his music in his slow thoughtful and very creative way. After Floor took over on the World tour she started singing it in the concerts, but later it was dropped from the regular setlist. She has sung it in her solo concerts, and does it justice. Here is a pretty good Fan cam of Floor sing Slow Love Slow with Nightwish only a couple of weeks after joining the band on tour. She adds a very sultry style and powerful ending vocals that have a very Pink Floyd feel, and Emppu has fun with the audience doing his blues style solo. The song is unusual because it is part of the film score Imaginaerum. Because Anette sounds so good here, you can also see why she was fired a few months later. Her singing style had never suited Nightwish and she was unable to adapt her voice. With Anette, the song also disappeared from the set list. Floor sang it on her first solo tour. To me, Floor can also beat her in their field because Floor has a "broader, calmer" sound: Floor Jansen - Slow, Love, Slow (Live)

@@ShawnSalvadori That is her. Tuoma's songs require a lot of technique and versatility. Floor can sing after the roller coasters better than the other two together.

You need plenty of material before to make any comparison of the NW female singers - which is actually pointless. They all are so grand and awesome and did their share when on stage/album. Anette did two albums with them and sang all the material almost they formulated for Tarja to sing beforehand. Naturally later it is easier to adopt research and copy...in the timeline and even do some improvements/changes if (seen to be) necessary - so keeping it in mind the pioneering and the growth process from a school band into the leader of the genre globally is the ultimate most valuable and difficult. They did that between 1996 - 2005. Tuomas is a genius behind this all with all his singers including male voices. First he quitted to sing himself and asked substitutes to male singing. Then came later the substitutes to female singing. By the way, Emppu is versatile guitarist and shows here a bit different style with his ESP Horizon EV-1 custom. Note Jukka with brushes - rare issue. Check Anette to do "Meadows of Heaven" - best than anybody.
