Thank you for picking up on the music in the background in the last part. No one ever comments on it, and I think it is beautiful also. The orchestra is the London Symphony Orchestra. Pip Williams helps Tuomas write the orchestral parts because Tuomas doesn't know what instruments he needs to use to do the music. Tuomas gives and tells Pip what he wants and then Pip writes it for the orchestra. Pip has called Tuomas a genius. Thank you for doing this video. I am glad you really liked it and appreciated what went into it............. :-)

Yes, Tuomas gives the orchestra kind of the same rough musical outline he gives to Floor and the others before recording. Pip Williams then goes off and turns the rough arrangement into symphonic gold. I think of Pip Williams as the seventh band member. He brings to Nightwish some of what George Martin did for the beatles. He helps them make their dreams into reality. It brings to mind Tuomas's quote: "An orchestra is a really good sounding keyboard, it's what I would be playing if I had ten hands..."

You hit it on the head Frank. The Universe, earth, and Mankind. Evolution! The London Philharmonic Orchestra. This show was a homecoming in Tampere, Finland. Yes Frank, even as I type this comment, Nightwish is in their studio in Finland putting together the next masterpiece. It should be out in early to mid 2020. We can't wait! Great reaction and some very intelligent and knowledgeable comments about the musicality and composition of this masterpiece. The orchestration for this song and the entire CD is a collaborative effort between Tuomas and Pip Williams, who produced the Moody Blues among many other bands.

A fabulous reaction, and you understood the nuances of the song immediately. The orchestral parts are played by the London Symphony Orchestra (who accompany NW on all of their studio albums). I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Well done!

Thank you for a great reaction. The drummer is hooked up with the track beat in his earpieces. He drives the train. The spectacular sound system is called “line array”. Each module of speakers can sell for up to $50,000 each. They provide great clarity and direction to fill up huge venues. I was thinking of buying two for my apartment (lol).

This was the Tempere (Finland) concert in 2015. It is based on the writings of Richard Dawkins. Tuomas was hugely inspired by his writings and this song and the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album was the result. I call it a hymn to evolution.

Great video, but gotta say one thing: You have been to some really bad festivals if you think open air takes away from the accustics. It actually adds to them when done right. No unwanted resonance, and you would not believe what the heat of 80000 people in front of the stage does for accustics. Anyways, as long as its professionally done, open air will always beat closed spaces, for everyone. And it is very professionally done at Wacken and of course this show.

The problem with playing in enclosed spaces is they can't use the pyrotechnics. And every country has its own regulation about it, so sometimes they have to change the show. They don't use the pyrotechnics "just because they can", they have a meaning and are part of the song and the show. Obviously, they are such good musicians they don't need any extra visual effects to enhance the music, but they like being theatrical and offering a big show to the audience. They could be playing with just two acoustic guitars and Floor singing and it still will be an awesome concert.
@Sayu2775 жыл бұрын

@peterpritzl33544 жыл бұрын
OK, I have to contradict you on one point, when you say, 'indoors is better'. I have seen Pink Floyd about 12 times in the 70's, mostly indoors, but nothing compared to seeing them in Germersheim in '72, Pop festival open air on an island in the river Rhine, 200,000 folks, most of them enjoying 'alternative realities', and Pink Floyd starting with 'Atom Heart Mother' in a kitschy pink sunset, helicopter dropping rose petals, and their light towers driving up towards the sky to the staring super deep bass of he song. That experience stayed with me forever.
