He played in and sang lead in a hair metal band in the beginning of his career. Check out their cover of High Hopes by Pink Floyd it is awesome too. His solo stuff is epic and his touring with Tarja was overdue.😉 edit: search YT for an interview from 1987 with "Marco Hietala from Nightwish Begins His Career With Metal Band Tarot 1987" it is worth a look just to see the puffy hair and baby face.

Troy Donockley (who celebrated his 60th birthday a few days ago) plays the low whistle on this one, and MANY other instruments inside Nightwish. He gives a little folk/Irish vibe to the band's music (and also sings, mosly backing vocals, but also a few lead parts too) And Marko is a good enough singer too, to have on his resume "had Floor Jansen as a backup singer" 😀

Was hoping someone would make that comment! 😊

Since Troy joined band (flute guy) Nightwish have used more of these Irish vibes in some songs, however this song is actually from before Troy officialy joined the band, but he was already a freind of the band before official join, and is featured on some songs before that time, like this one.. if you want to see Troy be lead singer, as well as instrumetal guy, react to Harvest from the album Human nature.. other song where Troy got a big part is Last of the wilds (instrumental), my walden, i want my tears back, just to name those i can think of right now.. Marko also got other songs he lead sing on, High hopes (pink floyd cover), While your lips are still red, Endlessness, master passion greed, and all those i cant remember in this moment..lol

Three of the best songs with Floor and Marco harmonizing were this one, briefly, and Seven Days to the Wolves and Song of Myself, both of which you have done. One more, is Poet and the Pendulum - but that one, as I’ve said before, comes with a warning. It’s long and it’s intricate. Wembley 2015 - this is the only version to watch! You do not want to waste your valuable time on anyone other than Floor signing it. But, if chosen, you should read some brief background. The song is a reaction to the backlash that Tuomas received after firing the bands original singer, and his friend from high school, Tarja - it was a tough decision. It also was handled very badly, by airing it in public (an open letter). Even the Finnish Prime Minister was criticizing him. He retreated back to his parents home, to regroup and recuperate by the ocean. This song was his catharsis, in which his alter ego, The Poet (recurring through earlier Nightwish songs), commits virtual suicide, so that Tuomas can move on. During the song, bandmates do “wellness” checks on him, as the song was very difficult emotionally for him, leading to him having his in ears turned off during the performances. The song has rarely been played, if at all, since this performance, and likely will never be seen again live. Hence, one more reason this performance is so special. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGW5l6xrrqisY8Usi=Bti5ggIOROrb1pkG

This one gave you a little taste of Nightwish Celtic/folk vibes. The variety is quite special and unique.

What? Short of requests? Here's another one: Ningen Isu-Heartless Scat. Some call them the Japanese Black Sabbath.
@northof49124 ай бұрын
Hey Russ! Think he was referring to Nightwish requests, but regardless, going to check that out right now!

OK Russ - what the hell did I just watch? I mean, it was really good! But that’s one the strangest looking bands I’ve ever seen. Mr Miyagi on vocals and guitar, Roy Orbison/Elvis on drums and was that Puddles Pity Party on base?? Wow! Great intro, so good that I was really hoping vocals wasn’t going to let it down - then Mr Miyagi starts singing! I’m still not sure what just happened, but it was really interesting!

@northof4912 Meiji era literary master, Buddhist monk and Yakuza style gangster. They've been around since 1987. Keep going with them. Absolute riff machines. Try 'Voice Of Nothing'.
