Tarja and Marko are my favorite vocal pairing in Nightwish. The way they play off each other is truly phenomenal. They have polar opposite styles, but they harmonize via excellent technique and control on both parts. Tarja is sick at this concert but still pulls off a great performance here. I have real admiration for how both singers delivered 110% at that special moment in time.

Thank you for doing Nightwish with Tarja also😊🙏 Nowadays, Tarja is still making music and going strong. She has released 5 (or 6, depends on how you count them) rock studio albums. And she is making a new one. She is also coming to America, I believe next month for a tour that celebrates her 15-year solo career. Tarja has also released a classical and a few Christmas albums. I recommend that you do a song called Slaying the Dreamer from this same concert, End of an Era.

I always watch videos of this concert with mixed feelings, because backstage Tarja was fired afterwards. Nevertheless, in my opinion it was one of the best concerts Tarja had played with Nightwish. I was very happy when Marko recently announced that Tarja will play a concert with him on his tour. Without a doubt, this will be a musical highlight of the year!

I hadn't heard that they are going to have a concert togerher. I think is fabulous and I'm glad for them as well because it seems they've been able to put the past behind. I'm pretty sure all the shit storm that happend was painfull for all of them. If they can perform together, then perhaps they've been able to forgive eachother and perhaps repair some of the friendship as well.

Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen-Cabuli,or known professionally as Tarja is a Finnish heavy metal singer. She has an amazing operatic voce and vocal range. Lovely reaction. I’m a big fan of all the singers. Mostly I prefer the original singers do their own, but there are preferences and they depend on the song. All three singers have their own solo careers and they’re all doing great. Thank you for exploring all of the eras. It’s a fun band that way. And please don’t let anyone tell you Tarja can only do opera. That is her forte and her 1st love, but she can sing differently. I would recommend The Siren from this Dane concert

Tuomas, Emppu and Tarja formed this band. With this line-up they defined their sound globally. After 5 albums (more than others have done together) - this era ended. Rest is history and continuing process with replacements and substitutes plus additions. This performance is clearly the best one and they also act the classic piece of play so well.

Tarja has also has performed with "Steve'n'Seagulls". Steve'n'Seagulls are a bit of an acquired taste. Would be best to start with their version of "Thunderstruck" (or at least there countrified/bluegrass version of it) Very good but a bit different. Kinslayer 9. she is my sin 10. wish I had an angel 11. slaying the dreamer 12. the siren 13. dead to the world 14. 10th man down 15. walking in the air 16. ghost love score 17. dark chest of wonders 18. bless the child and many more too ------ this is about the 'phantom of the opera' with tarja nightwish, but it applies to tarja for all other NW songs too: Tarja has her own stage performance/presence, but the focus is on the entire band (much more respectful), unlike with floor, where the focus is almost entirely on her, and also, Phantom of the Opera isn't about that much showmanship, so you're not seeing more of Tarja's performance/presence (love how the camera work and Tarja worked together, with her ducking down, seeing Marcus as he delivered his singing, and then Tarja stands back up, seeing her face back in the camera as Marco's part ends and hers begins again, Tarja is really such a team player, as she could have had all the focus upon herself, like Floor gets, but instead she chooses to give the entire band the respect and focus that they too deserve, it's not all about Tarja, like it is with Floor, despite how good Tarja is and thus how she could be the entire focus with nightwish, as is Floor with nightwish) there's other songs, where Tarja was way way way more stage performance/presence/showmanship, including hair windmills, rocking an invisible guitar along with empuu rocking his guitar, along with her doing her squatting too as she sings and taps her foot/leg to it, as she's swinging those hips too, along with her getting the crowd involved as well too, and etc stuff, you got to watch way more songs, to really see her amazing stage presence/performance and showmanship, as Phantom of the Opera is likely the one song with the least of that stuff, due to the nature of the song itself, being about their singing (contrasting and then cacophonous harmonous duet, nothing can compete with Tarja and Marco voices duet'ing), though Marco and Tarja had a bit of showmanship and fun snuck into it, with Marco pointing to his face and Tarja's facial expression reactions, while both song their parts

Tarja went with her solo career after Nightwish fired her. Still an epic voice, but the songwriting isn't the same without Tuomas. Anette Olson was the singer between Tarja and Floor. She's also done some solo work after Nightwish, and her album 'Strong' is really good.

I am like you. I love them. I am Finnish-American. I am so proud of them. I love Tarja and Marco. They are my new adopted cousins. The whole band is talented. This was her last concert. She was fired right after this show. So sad but she lives on. Marco also left but I believe he is coming ming back. Along with Greta Van Fleet, Dua Lipa they are keeping me busy with new songs. They are so unique. Floor is awesome too. I saw GVF and Dua (with Elton John) in concert. Hope to see them too. Tarja is on a tour now. I am going to see her in Los Angeles in June. Hi Inna! Tarja and Nightwish parted ways back in 2005 (-ish? Was so long ago) after several internal problems. Tarja went solo, the band wrote a letter (search for Open Letter to Tarja Turunen), which she replied with an open letter (Open Letter from Tarja Turunen) explaining her point of view. You can sense the disagreement between them both in those letters. After the dust settled, and for Nightwish to present Floor Jansen (or was it Anette Olzon?) as their new singer, "Bye Bye Beautiful" was released... Another song to react to? *wink*

the band has had 3 vocalists with different vocal skills, my favorite is "FLOOR" is more dynamic with her voice, "tarja" is very talented (first vocalist), but my favorite album of the band was released by (second vocalist) Anette Olzon, in fact it is one of the best-selling albums, but the fans of that time and the press criticized them a lot, it was a very abrupt and dark change for the band when they changed "TARJA" (voice is more operatic) for Anette la which her style was very different, but despite that she made my favorite albums of the band are by Anette, which "FLOOR" performed several masterfully at the 2013 concert

You said to correct you if you're wrong, so Tarja is pronounced "tar - ya" as J in both Dutch (like yan-sen as in Floor Jansen) and Finnish is pronounced as a Y. Tarja jas released several solo albums between then and now and I believe is on tour as of this writing. Tarja and Floor are friends and have done duets together. Two or three years ago, they did an Instagram live together that was entertaining and interesting to sit in on.

This is a great metal version of this song with Tarja. Best normal version is Floor and Henk Port on Beste Zangers show. That is closest to how the song was performed on Broadway. Purists of the Phantom of the Opera would pick that version, metalheads would pick Marko and Tarja version. I watch both because Phantom is my favorite Broadway musical, have seen it 3 times since 1990. If I had to choose only one to watch or listen to, it would be the Beste Zanger one.

My favorite version of Phantom of the Opera. I just can't listen to any other version anymore, because it sounds so underwhelming compared to this. I feel like this is how the Broadway musical should have sounded, but they couldn't put it on with a metal backing band, and who could play it quite like this anyway. So well done. well Nightwish actually loss one of their diamonds, i mean Marko :x Love Tarja and wish her well but Floor is doin' more than well, doin epic, even more than Tarja did :D but Nightwish without Marko is not the same :(

Actually, I think you need to react to Floor performing this with Nightwish and Henk Poort in 2022. Tarja was great and Marko was spectacular in this version, but they have been surpassed by the latest version with Floor and Henk.
