From the 2007 Finnish film Lieksa! ("The Matriarch"). This is not an "official" Nightwish song as Tuomas does not feel right releasing music under his own name. The Nightwish website clearly states that the song was written by Tuomas Holopainen and features him on keyboards, Marko Hietala on vocals and Jukka Nevalainen on drums. Troy's part was originally a violin.

Troy was playing the Ebow, I had to look it up, it essentially rubs and vibrates the guitar strings giving it a violinish sound. I am sure it takes lots of practice to sound that good on it though.

Marko is writing new songs for his band Tarot. My fav Tarot song is Pyre of The Gods. Wings of Darkness is a classic.

Seriously? Where did you hear this? Last I knew, Tarot was pretty much done since losing Pecu in 2016... and I know Tuple's got a solo thing going now, Zachary posted a link on FB. I don't even recall it being mentioned during the Henry's Pub livestream, although I admit my spoken Finnish is absolutely terrible. The kind soul in the chat giving a synopsis said Marko was talking about writing new music, yes, but not specifically for Tarot.

In the Henry´s Pub livestream he was talking about his solo stuff. Now that he has less other "obligations" he has been writing even more than before. His head has not stopped working like he said. And new material has a "tendency to be eventually released".

The original studio recording uses a violin for Troy's part in this live performance, which is why he is using the e-bow to simulates the sustained sound of the violin.

Beside my Nightwish suggestions: Null Positiv from Germany They are a female fronted metal band and their singer Elli Berlin has such a unique and charismatic voice ranging from clear over harsh to screams/growls. Wo Rauch ist, ist auch Feuer“ A (power)ballad which such an intense atmosphere.
