You say trolling doesn't bother you, but I get the impression it does, as you draw a lot of paralels between the song and your opinion about trolls and the bad sides of the internet. I don't know why people do it, but maybe they don't see it as trolling? Maybe they mean what they say. Maybe it's just blowing off steam? Lots of people have psychological issues today. At least it's better to vent on the internet verbally than doing it IRL physically. I also think trolling is a 2-way street. A troll needs an opposite to flourish. No opposite ....... But then again, I've had very interesting conversations with people who seemed to be trolling at first, but just had a bit odd kind of sarcasm. It happened to me too a few times. I seem to have got a bit of an odd sense of humor. Sorry :) And though I agree with the trolls that you can't sing a straight note even if your life depended on it (there's the odd humor *and* in this case 100% sarcasm) Seriously, keep going. I don't always agree with you, but usually you make sense *and* I've never heard someone count measures as fast as you just did in the video. I tried, but I think I need some physiotherapy for my tongue now.

I imagine this song was very cathartic for Tuomas to write, and for Floor to perform. Both have gotten undue hate online for various assumptions made in regards to their character and their appearance. There's a subset of former fans who like to bash both: Tuomas is difficult, he is a diva, he is rude, he is a dictator in the band, whatever. Then they go on about Floor: her singing choices, her height, her appearance, her personality, and the VERY CLEAR boundaries she has set with fans who think they are owed a hug or whatever when they see her. Years ago, Floor had to post a blog on the site to explain herself because people were calling her a bitch for having boundaries- dead serious. And then there's just the hardcore former fans who think that Tarja would somehow appreciate that they're bashing Floor in order to uplift her. I have quite literally seen youtube accounts dedicated to hating Floor, and they talk shit on almost all of her live performances, then add in how Tarja is the best. Tarja would be mortified to see this done in her name! She is a kind woman who respects her colleagues, and has a great rapport with Floor. So yeah the subject of this song has chapped me quite a bit since I became a fan and saw some of the BS some folks go on about. Such a great song!
@ApacheGamingUK3 жыл бұрын
So many people were so surprised to find out that Floor and Tarja are good friends, and have even performed duets together. The mantra has always been that the conflict has always been in the minds of the "fans", not in the eyes of the performers.
@magnumchaos3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Floor and Tarja have never had conflict. And Tarja has moved on to a successful solo career of her own, and has reportedly rekindled friendships with various members of Nightwish. However, I'm not sure if Tarja and Tuomas have rekindled their friendship, but it is nice to see most of them on amicable terms now.

Thank you, cathartic is now my favorite word in the English vocabulary (Dutch is my mother-tongue, so I'm always expanding my English vocab). But yeah, you see this "fandom rivalry" around other artists and well known people and it's absolutely absurd..

I absolutely agree. I read somewhere that Floor said she would never sing Bye Bye Beautiful because it is a diss about Tarja. While I have not heard her say this in any video/interview, I have never seen her perform the song, which would kind of prove the point.

@@juanitook1125 and, I might add, Tuomas is underutilizing Jukka Koskinen. The guy can sing, he does really great backing vocals in Wintersun, and when I saw he was going to replace Marko, I really thought he was gonna sing Marko’s parts and all in all occupy the same place in the band, but nope, he’s only the bassist, nothing more. Kinda disappointing if you ask me.

That thumbnail, though. Looks like Floor has turned our sweet Elizabeth into a Viking shield maiden in full war cry. Maybe Floor really is a goddess with magical powers.

hi, i discovered your channel by accident and it became a drug. Seeing your reactions is amazing, I appreciate your positivity and the information you transmit, and although I am not a singer, you manage to pass the passion through your work! it is extremely fascinating and I find that each of your videos is interesting, funny and at the same time to be watched over and over again, even if only to capture the emotions that you are able to convey through your expressions and your facial expressions really wow!

I was so excited to see your reaction to Floor's growling, because it's one of my favorite reminders of how beautifully diverse her vocal technique is. Thank you for another awesome video! I learn so much every time I watch your reactions, and your genuine enthusiasm for music and voice is incredibly inspiring to me as a fellow musician.

Yes, I've been waiting for this ALL YEAR!!! Thanks for this amazing reaction/analysis!!! I love the community very much. She has more work with growls with After Forever (her first band) and ReVamp, another project where she also sang with Devin Townsend!

I remember listening to that for the first time. Only somewhere half-way did I figure: "Wait, Marko doesn't sing like that. Which means he must be singing that other part .. which means .. Floor is .. WHAT THE #@&$ ???!!!". This is going to be fun 😁

As others have said, your reactions are great. Both fun and (most importantly) genuine. Prior to Nightwish, Floor had her own band called ReVamp in which she regularly did harsh vocals. I don't know if there's much ReVamp stuff to react to, but I would recommend it. I think this song was the first time she had the opportunity to do them in Nightwish.

I knew as soon I saw this upload on my main page that your ears would pick up the chorus growls right at the 1st time. And I wasn't disapointed. Most people I've seen react to this just figured that part when Marko goes even higher at the end. Btw, those unearthly sounds Floor does in the middle always make me feel like hearing a mermaid's calling, charming the sailors to her. And it fills me with joy because I'm pretty sure I would fall for it...

You should react to Disdain live when Floor was with her band Revamp. (Blonde hair!) Her vocals are REALLY heavy. There is one point when she is trading growls with the guitarist and goes from a growl and slides up into a belt! I've never heard anything like it.

This channel is pretty heartwarming really, folks generally seem nice in the comments, and you have a kinda fun, and optimistic attitude which can be kinda infectious, something we all could need a bit more of, genuine joy and adoration at the behest of other peoples talents, in place of tearing down anyone trying to do something.

I don't understand why so many people wonder which of the two is doing the growling. I get that some people haven't heard Floor growl before (check out her work in ReVamp for more) and thus there might be some disbelief, but Marco's voice is distinctive. He still sounds like Marco during the chorus, so it has to be Floor doing the growling.
