LYRICS MUSIC:
Before you
My home was in the wind and surf
The birds and rain, voices of the northern lights
Then you came
I joined you beyond the aeons
As you blew your cave bear bone
And began to hum
Eradicate the torment of a heavy heart
Emancipate the deaf
Sing the graceful third part
Then orchestrate an air for only you to sing
Caress it deep
It`s always there to unlock the stars
To enter
Music
Fanning the flames of a mystery
Deepening the listening
Losing
Yourself to the endless symphony
Of now
Human
Singing the tale of another man
Have you ever heard
Music
It is coming, coming, coming your way
The very first song
You want to dream?
Want a tale in major scale?
Wish to leave the hollow, to dance with Pan?
Can you hear the brave drum from the moors?
Follow the beat
And leave the noise behind if we be lovers
Performance starts, come join the gathering
And you will leave with a wildflower aftertaste
Become the kind who still laughs at butterflies
Give me a home inside you until the final
Thank you and a good night
In here, I am the silence of sound
Curing the common show
For the steady song
There, I`ll greet the greedy crowd
But will never, ever sing to them
Tick-tock, time stops
Follow me into the fog
To the hilltop
Follow the call sky-clad
Evoke the Hum
Allure the sirens
All it took was
Time and silence

I think it's one of those records that you have to listen to multiple times. Yes it's different but every artist and or group go through a period in their career where they branch out and try new things. Sometimes it works and other times they fall flat on their collective faces. For me this is one of those records that I will have to just find a quiet place put my headphones and just listen to it fully through.

Exactly.. Nightwish are the greatest.. Truly a team effort and all of them playing a major part. Like in the beginning of the track with Kai's drumming (come on Kai) then Tuomas drops his keys on us, then Floor.. Well what can I say, this is an extremely hard melody to sing and I got my first Floorgasm during this track.. Marco only actually sings on one track of this album (which is s shame, same with Troy) but they compliment Floor perfectly and Empuu sends me shivers with his solos. Think that's everyone.. Well done will give a few play throughs and sure before long I won't be able to stop listening.. Nightwish always reveal something every time you listen, always rewarding.. Long may they reign. Top of the tier. Best band in the world..

I find it incredible how Nightwish are consistently reinventing themselves without ever losing their musical identity. You don't need to know it's a Nightwish song to recognize it as such, even without Floor's voice (hope we never actually lose that), it's just so... distinctive. It keeps the nightwishy sound while at the same time breaking new ground, not stagnating, ever. It's kind of amazing.

@@aFoxyFox. Well, in that case I have two recommendations too. First is 'Ayreon', a prog rock project. Actually, it's one guy who recruits countless vocalists and musicians for his conceptual albums that are like a Sci-Fi - Fantasy epos. My favorite album would be 'The Source' that tells the backstory of the backstory. Floor has been part of it for the longest time and Marco joined once in too (like, on the one and only ever live concert with more singers than the stage could fit). My second recommendation is far away from metal, a male opera singer that combines pop, jazz, folk, etc while having the craziest vocal range ever and beating every female soprano: Dimash Kudaibergen. In my opinion, the only one greater than Floor, with technical perfection, and the sexiest barriton and sweetest soprano I've ever heard. He looks like a k-pop idol but is a traditional opera singer from Kazakhstan and a multi instrumentalist. The album is a masterpiece. I'm a fan since 2001 and I don't get the "oh, it's not old NW". Well, that's exactly the point!!! Why would an artist want to be the same after 20(!) years? Tuomas was a Boy Poet, now he's a man who sees his job as to at least try to make a difference to the world. And it's not just an honorable goal, it's the one that really makes your art and your life worthwhile in the longrun. My only guess is that people who are so against the album have little compassion and awareness to the real world outside their own lives. Because the message behind the music and lyrics is so powerfull and sincere and heartfelt, that you have to be heart-deaf to cast it aside...

2:27 best moment I've heard from a Tuomas composition. It sounds almost like Two Steps From Hell stuff. This dude is amazing, people still debating about who is the best singer, Tarja, Annette or Floor but so many fail to realize that the real genius and master behind Nightwish is Tuomas. Sure, everyone in the band is important and they help bring the creations to life, but without his mind and his endless talent, none of this would exist.

@@TayR0C And on another note, I grew up with Deep Purple so I know who Jon Lord is and most of their songs. They were great for their era and they will remain a classic in most of our hearts, but times change, people change and the world moves on so that others can come along and grace us with more great art. And comparing a rock band to a symphonic metal band just shows how little you know about music. The complex diversity between Deep purple and Nightwish is on so many levels I don't even know where to begin to explain it. What kind of imbecile compares rock to symphonic, that's like comparing Trance to Classical music, they have absofuckinglutely nothing to do with one another. I know many times we skip to where the "song" starts at 2:05, but the intro is a work of art. The way it tells the story of the development of music from the sonic mix of the cosmic and the natural to the imitation and later development of human rythm, social bonding and later musical expansion. And then the song starts and those lyrics are like the deepest thing you've never thought about and... Damn Tuomas Holopainen.. and everyone on front and back who make Nightwish... Perfect. From the NASA recording of space (adjusting the wavelengths of light to sound) in the opening to the orchestration and vocalization throughout the rest of the song. Loved how Tuomas plays with the lyrics, actually referring to "Noise" coming behind the "Music", then, in the chorus, "Have you ever heard Music? It is coming, coming, coming, your way, the very first song." A great reference to the song "Noise" following behind "Music", the very first song on the album. Seamlessly weaving that into the other beautiful lyrics and this fantastic composition is but another manifestation of this man's genius. Love the song and everything about this album. Another Nightwish masterpiece.

I have listened to this song at least once a day for the last week, and it has never failed to evoke tears...What I admire about Mr. Holopaianen's efforts as a composer is that he seeks to convey in his work the poetic truth that cannot be spoken so much in words but felt in human expression, in a manner that one could easily defer as 'divinely inspired'; and while I completely respect Nightwish's decision to identify as 'openly secular', I would be remiss to not indicate that his/their work holds numerous elements for religious/shamanic awakening. The entire album is a magnificent cacophony of transcendent realization, to glimpse past the curtain of our limited daily perception, to fleetingly recognize the wonder and awe of this splendid universe in which we reside. To anyone who has ever contemplated the deeper truth of life and sought to catch the light of great purpose, this album is an invitation to chase that desire, to greet the wondrous beauty of the world with a full and cheerful soul. The fact that this entire album is readily available to play on KZbin without purchase suggests that one of the most significant efforts of Human Nature is to act as a catalyst for inspiration and personal awakening through the experience and contemplation of the MUSIC that is given freely. I have purchased the album myself, and I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone just now in 2020 learning about Nightwish. Thank you for your attention.

I am simply drowned in the magical connection of deep feelings and human knowledge. Both together is Human nature. It is so inspiring for me. Nightwish is definition of the great music to me.

Since I have pre-ordered, I have owned the album since april 8th. Just because of this song alone I would buy the album again. Also my children (11 years and 8 years) have heard Music only once and sing the head sound of Floor from 6:13 all the time. To the whole band: Toumas, Floor, Marco, Emppu, Kai and Troy, no matter which order: great respect! The whole album is great. At the moment i'm stuck in Music. I can't find the words. Awesome. Floor is the best singer in the world. I might be overreacting right now, but I'm not quite sane right now :D I thought nothing could beat Endless forms most beautiful. I was very wrong. Tuomas, what you have created with this album surpasses everything else. Except Ghost love score, which was my first Nightwish song 15 years ago ;) respect. After hearing Human Nature a few many times, I have to correct my view slightly. This is the best album I have heard lately. To all band members: a huge praise to you. I was so looking forward to this album. Now it's here and I am overjoyed to finally hear it in its entirety. Now I only hope that the concert in Frankfurt will take place in December. Please start with music g

You're not overreacting, I like many other bands, and many other female vocalists. Hell, I like them very much. But Floor is simply the best singer that I ever heard in my opinion, and Tuomas is a genius composer.
