To be honest, it didn't really impress me, and I kind of forgot everything that happened in that game, lol. But I hear the later games only get better and better. I wonder if I should replay the OG, wait for the remake, or just dive into SC as is?

I feel 90% certain that 2nd and 3rd will follow. I hope they even continue and do Crossbell as well, but I'm MUCH less certain that they actually will.

I think for sure 2nd will happen idk if past that will just because those 2 feel complete together. Now 3rd is perhaps my favorite game in the series so I would love it getting the same treatment but I could understand it not.

They have to be planning to 2nd as well. I'm 100% confident in that. It wouldn't make any sense to only do the first one. I'm hoping for 3rd as well but I'm less certain about it.

SC heavily reused assets and locations form the first game, so a lot of the work toward SC is already done. If they're sticking very close to the original script too, then that part would already be done too. They're probably waiting to see how the remake sells, though.

I doubt it. Since it's a remake, most of the original script/translation will remain the same from the psp/pc release which makes localization much easier

Maybe one of my biggest fears will come true and Falcom will stuff this game with EVEN MORE fluff than the original. We'll just have to wait and see

I am so proud of how far Falcom has come in the past 3-4 years (especially in 2024), we went from missing half of the series (Crossbell who?) to now having damn near the whole series localized, practically yearly releases in the west AND east, and now a remake! Me 5 years ago would have thought this was BS, I'm so happy right now!

Well the world itself in the Sky games was still 3D, it was just using 2D sprites. So the actual work involved probably wasn't as arduous as you might believe. But it does look like an almost one to one shift.

CS games don't need remakes but the sky trilogy definitely did. Same with the crossbell games they need remakes as well, it's why i held off on playing the ported versions of them because i was hoping for a true remake like what they did with sky fc. So glad i waited this long to replay sky fc again in HD!

Hey, a proud Trails player here. I started playing in 2020, and returning after a 3-year hiatus. And this was certainly a pleasant surprise to me. Every Trails game (Liberl Arc, Crossbell, Cold Steel or Daybreak) is like a book to me, no matter how much time it passes without opening them, I can rest assured that the day I open it again, it will receive me with open arms.

They'll probably try to get as many actors from Cold Steel IV, and Reverie as they can. Most of the cast came back for those games, so I think our chances of getting the same result for the remake are fairly high.

This is incredibly exciting! I only started playing Trails last year (finally caught up to Daybreak as of a couple of days ago), but the Sky games are already all time favourites of mine. I will definitely pick this up, even if I'm not quite ready for another full play through. I'm really excited to hear what they do with the music. As a side note, I did really enjoy Sky in its original format (on Steam) and think the games really hold up today even if they look a little dated (though I'm old so a 2004 game is not really old to me).
