maybe because how diverse the guns they use, such as : Anti-Material (Karin, Hiyori) Granade Launcher (Chise, Shigure) Machine Gun (Hina, Pina, The girl who eat watermelon (I forgot her name, Gourmet Society as I remember) Tanks (Hifumi, Cherino, Iroha) Helicopter (Ayane) Yes, Sensei can wear armor, but again, depends on context and knowing his personality, he doesn't want to disturb the students, he can ask Millennium for armor (even spacesuits), but he won't because he knows each students there are busy with their own things (Dog Girl (Forgot her name, she's a Meister) do fashion and cosplay, Kotori over explain things, Utaha do machinery based on ideas), he also had money issues. he can ask iroha too (won't help as much as millennium would, but still could help him) he can ask SRT but then they have money, house, school, their lives is already full of things, EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE THE ONLY STUDENTS WHO WEAR ARMOR!!! he can ask cherino (but then it would be dangerous seeing how Red Winter is... the students even doesn't know Marina) he can ask trinity, but then the issue would be who, Tea Party? Justice force? Pater? they have their own agendas Abydos? money issues, lack of equipment, won't get armor there Arius? it's SRT + Abydos problem The students who I believe will definitely help Sensei is Hina, Make Up Work Club, Tsurugi, Izuna, Ako (just because Hina said so), SRT (especially Moe with her explosives), Abydos... many more... ESPECIALLY WAKAMO!!! *sighs* the main problem by asking for armor is : 1. The Diversity of weapon (especially Anti-Material) 2. Students can drive tanks freely (just look at Hifumi (Swimsuit) story) 3. Sensei is better in space, communicating via robot (Millennium already has many robots)... if I still lack in my explanation, tell me where I can improve or prove my points more...

You know I'm quite intrigued now, this manga reminds me of the same plot of LOK where the protagonist was also searching for a way to save the world no matter how many times they had to suffer the same events over and over again. (now if only Hina can make a paradox to break the cycle, but i doubt that's the intention of the author)
