Personally, I think NijiEn should just debut talents once a year. I know they want to mass produce talents so they can cover as many niches as possible. But for me, as a viewer, the appeal of NijiEN is not just the individual liver but they're dynamic with each other. I started with only watching one liver, but as they collab and banter with each other, I started to watch the other livers. Right now, it is too hard to keep track of each liver, and even them are having a hard time trying to collab with the other. I have a theory that NijiEN just want the numbers so that their livers can chain raid each other so that you are not leaving NijiEN when you're online.

I agree. I was very held back by how many gens other companies had it was overwhelming to keep up, with NijiEN though it was so natural to engage in their interactions, Luxiem had just debited and soon noctyx and they seemed all so genuinely connected it brought me straight into this v-tubing world. Though, after the last two waves launched I couldn't possibly have time to keep up with anyone, senpais or kouhais in the branch. I don't remember who it was, Selen or Pomu that mentioned they were not as much in touch since it's so many of them and it made me stop thinking I was crazy for thinking something changed lately. I watch a few clips still, though.

THANK YOU for pointing out that Zaion’s reasons for termination was not an issue with background checking, it was her attitude. Niji doesn’t need more thorough background checking, if anything it would be TRAINING. If the waves being debuted are all the product of the previous audition opening, then they seriously need to focus a lot more on the process between passing auditions and getting debuted.

In Zaion's past life account, she has a disclaimer on how she enjoys making r*pe jokes but never means them seriously. That is one of those things that makes me believe they do need to be more strict with background checks. It was a clear indicator of what her humour would be and ultimately one of the factors that got her terminated, tho ofc there was a lot more than inappropriate jokes.

A lot of this commentary mirrors some of what has been said to combat growing complaints about Hololive not releasing new talents every few months - especially the point about not having enough time to get to know the new talents or just watching the new wave for a few weeks before going back to the original oshi. Speaking from personal experience, I don't have time to watch live streams so I save them to a private playlist for later viewing - my playlist recently capped out at 5000 (most of which are Nijisanji streams), and I really haven't be able to get past Luxiem in the playlist despite watching at least one VOD a day.

Well the thing about Hololive is that no one wants them to release tales every few months, but also we are close to a year and a half with no new talent for both Holo EN and Holo JP, and both branches have been auditioning for like a year, so we don't know, we were used to have new talent from Holo JP every year adn we haven't gotten any, i think they focused in Holostars EN past year and that's why we havn't gotten any new Holo En or Holo JP talent.

I'm a Nijisanji EN lover, but I'm completely of the opinion that they're cranking out livers way too quickly. Especially with everything that's happened in the past few months, the last thing they need to do is open more auditions. Slow down. It seems like with each wave it's harder for new members to gain their footing and find a place in the branch. Give them time to get comfortable streaming for fuck's sake, before tossing out another group. And this might be a minor tick of mine, but not every wave needs SIX whole members. That's SO many. Just. I wish they'd take a minute for the current EN livers to relax and for us to enjoy who's here right now. Chill.

I really only got into Nijisanji with Noctyx a year ago. When they debuted new talents I would watch their debut stream then go back to my oshi. Nothing against any new talents but I just don’t feel as attached when they keep debuting and I have to learn about a new group of streamers and their dynamics

One wave per year should be the limit for Niji, because we now know that 2-4 waves a year are causing issues and there will be no way to promote most talents properly in a year from now if they keep debuting waves like this.

Agree 100% they really need to spend more time with their current talents, especially the newer ones. I wont be naming names but some of the current talents do struggle a bit at finding their own identity in the community of EN and you can see it by comparing viewers etc. it’s absolutely not their fault, they are great entertainers but they are overshadowed by the more experienced talents which make them struggle to grow. It’s even worst for them when new talents come left and right at the speed of light! The current talents are overworked, stressed out, depressed and what the big boss on top care more about? That’s right! Adding more talents to burn out! As much as I want to support my favorite livers, it depresses me to see them like that and I noticed that I have not been watching them as much as I used to :(

To be fair I think Nijisanji in general aims for the audience following their favorite oshi instead of following the whole group. That maybe why they pump out talents so fast is for people to find their own favorite oshi, which also includes filling up niches. Which they probably do this because it works on the jp side, so they are probably copying from the jp side since they are a jp company.

Before I even go in supporting Nijisanji, I knew that they run things differently than Hololive. I knew that they value Quantity over Quality as they have this hands-off approach in managing their 100+ talents. I also notice that they do follow this protocol, like Free-to-Play games do with their contents, keeping everyone's attention to new content for every 2-4 months then releasing another. So far, the protocol has been imperfect, but I could see it still work. It is the same protocol that grew them to what they are now and what so far have been working for them. It also did a great job in diversifying the general audience and yet keeping that connection between each other. My only suggestion is to limit the wave/gen to 3-4, for a quicker and more established connection among the talents and to the audience.

Niji is close in total subs across all channels (which lets face it, there's a lot of shared faces there), and coupling that with their *total* number of livers, before falling off in every category after that. Personally I think Niji goes too fast with new gens, and holo goes too slow. But I disagree that the number of talents is a problem. If you choose to watch everyone that is on you, most people dont have enough free time to watch even their oshis all the time, with work and other responsibilities eating up most of their available time. If you have the luxary of having enough free time to watch literally everyone then good for you, but that is absolutely not the majority of people. Even then its their call to make on where their limit is. If they feel they can only keep up with 10 people, then they can decide which 10 they like the most. I think having more people gives you more varied talents with different personalities which gives you more chances of having new fans that didnt feel like they had a place before. More people isnt a problem, its just the speed. Niji goes too fast, they really should take more time in the hiring process to vet applicants. There should also be a more in depth testing phase. Now I am not aware of what exactly takes place behind scenese during the hiring process, but with the number of issues with talents from all companies lately I feel taking longer to test out your potential vtubers isnt a bad idea. Maybe have them do a month of fake streaming, where they dont stream they just record, and those fake streams are reviewed for compliance before they can go live for the first time. Another added benefit to waiting a little longer is it does give your most recent talents a little more time to shine. I think Holos every year a new team (across EN and Stars) verses Nijis every 3 months, they both end up being wrong. Id personally split the difference and go for 6 months. If you arent into the most recent group in 6 months, you never will be. Delaying any longer just means you wont have replacements as people leave. Look at wactor, they are losing talents left right and center (deserved) and there is just no way for them to keep up with the amount of talents that they would need to replace all the groups leaving. Whereas I dont think Niji has that problem. Sure a couple people left for various reasons but because they are 1 of like what 30 people it doesnt seem as bad, where as when someone leaves Holo its noticed because it was 1 of 10-15. literally losing 10% of your streamer power verses losing like 3%

Sorry, but Holo still has over 100 members and many have multiple oshi's. If someone leaves, fans migrate to others. Is not noticeable because there are fewer members, is noticeable, because is a rare event. Hololive3 had 4 graduations across all 3 female brands in 4 years of existence. So is rare, very rare... One English graduation is in what? Almost 3 years? Fans connect long-term with their favorite streamer. They are not eager to just move away to someone new every few months, and leave altogether if there is nothing new. Niji and Holo just have different strategies. Niji seems to be focused on creating streamers and being a management company for streamers. Meanwhile Holo is trying to create entertainers and be an entertainment agency. Hololive basically looks beyond streaming. They are trying to establish a multimedia franchise - merch, manga, anime, video games, conventions, media recognition, and music. Streaming is just a side of their business. Which is why it makes sense that they will have fewer debuts. Fewer talents and debuts = more time and resources invested in each, better models, more costumes, more 3D, and more opportunities which create more star power and more brand value for each. All those investments also help them as streamers. I think fans get more invested and stick around for a talent when they see that the company and themselves are involved long term in what they are doing. Meanwhile, so many Niji talents are lost in the shuffle, that you can't know when they are going to vanish.

Because as far as monetization money from the actual video that’s basically nothing money wise even at 10k unless you’ve got sponsors. Otherwise you’ve got to make that up in donations, say someone donates 10 dollars. 10 turns to 7 with KZbin 70/30 split, then another 25% or so going to the company. So every 10 dollars is about 5.25 to the actual talent.

1. Catering to the people that want to watch all streamers of the same company beyond the debut streams isn't sustainable tbh. Hololive will run into similar problems eventually unless they stop acquiring new talents entirely which would basically limit their growth and limiting growth isn't something investors want to hear. I think we should stop promoting that idea. It's healthier to just pick your favorites and then stick to them. 2. Establishing an audience is done by collabing i'd say if you can't make it on your own directly.

And....they announce new talents for JP branch today. Well, it's just Nijisanji strategy, they aren't changing that. Financially proven it's beneficial to Nijisanji too. There aren't much financial burden to keep talents, there's no harm having a talent that don't earn. No revenue, no variable cost. And they market top talent only or Nijisanji as a whole, which they have to do anyway regardless of how many unpopular niche focused talents they have. Also, it's a free for all for their talents to survive the non stop waves, leaving only the best getting all the resources. and statistically they are more likely to get a hit. Idol groups had proven this can works. There are no better business to be honest, unless KZbin decide to kill them. nor it is bad practice or strategy, it's just how artistic or entertainment industry works.

I still think they need something to determine if they’ll work well with the company or not. How far sure knows how to do it, every single one is a bombastic blast personality, you can show me any one of them and I can tell you their names and personalities almost entirely off the top my head. They have them down pat to the point where they know exactly which model to give them that synchronize with their personal aesthetic, don’t get me wrong the Nijisanji members are good on their own, they’re down to earth personalities are their charm for the company but they don’t have the pull. The company is wanting or expecting. That’s why they are resident ojou sama and niji’s boy band blew up like they did. Yet the boys are given all the attention and everyone else is left in the dust That’s harshly why members are leaving because everything is pretty much stagnant for everyone else and nothings changed, I just keep throwing things at the wall, they expecting a different result but all that happens is that everything blurs together until everybody stops caring, then eventually, everyone else will follow suit and leave to do their own thing, All because they don’t care about their talents and see them only as a quick buck, or something unreachable for them

Holostars boys are so underrated when you watch them collab it literally feel like having fun with the homies. People say nijisanji over holostars because of subscribers but nijisanji en on the boys side didn't have a big boom like luxium. Noctyx did ok the rest of the male members what I've seen struggling to get 1k viewers each stream.

I do believe that a year or 2 time holostars will be a big name for people. For example alot people say you should join nijisanji over holostars if you want to be a male vtuber. But the way nijisanji keep popping of debuts and the way holostars slowly growing i won't be so sure with that statement. Yep, that's kinda problem indeed. It's hard to keep in track to each talent. And for me, (sorry if i offended someone) it's causes boredom to watch EN talents nowdays, especially the new gen. Sure they have amazing avatar design, but they don't bring something new, and even lack of personality.

i would also like to mention a background check would have never prevented what Zaion did. Doing a background check usually consists of looking at past jobs and possibly asking the persons boss at the past job what they were like and checking out what they have said and done publically in the past etc etc. That wouldn't prevent Zaion saying what she said though even if she said smth similar say mabye 5 years ago, the ppl at Niji EN would most likely ask her abt what she said and conclude that Zaion could have changed since then.

Funny enough the Niji thing makes me think of the Magic The Gathering shit storm from a couple months back, or even Pokemon games where new is always good, but too much is just overwhelming. It gets to a point where why bother investing time and interest into something when you know there will be a new wave or release on the way. Niji is zerging the vtuber space right now and I wouldn't be surprised if its actually hurting the new gens because they aren't getting a chance to build a solid fanbase. Its been 2 years since Hololive EN Gen 2 came out they're still growing and still feel new, even Gura was surprised its been 2 years since debut. Also Mumei is the perfect example of why time is needed because it took her a good several months to get comfortable and drop the shy nervous wholesome bit and become the Moomers we love and fear now. If Hololive popped out Gen 3 half a year later pretty sure a lot of EN Gen 2 would have had their growth stunted and probably been forgotten about.

This may be a negative for those watching, but it is a good thing for those being hired. The large number of debuts means that many people who want to be part of a major agency will be given a chance. The vtuber scene is saturated right now, but even if not as saturated as Hololive, the NijiSanji brand has the power to attract a certain number of viewers and fans on its own.

I´m already at a point where i don´t know much about many VTuber anymore. i don´t watch as much VTuber related stuff on YT as i did one or two years ago and there are already so many out there, i can´t even keep up with the YT-Clips of them. I havent seen some VTubers for months now and don´t really know if they´re still active anymore. For NijiSanji to bring even more and more Talents into the Brand might be a bad Idea. It bears the risk that the Talents won´t reach higher Viewer-Numbers anymore and only a few (die hard)Fans per Talent. Hiring even more new Talents will keep the costs rising but not nessesary the revenue.

I do agree, Niji is expanding its EN branch way too fast. If memory serves me correctly, the branch started in 2021 and already has 30 livers, we're not even in its 2nd year and it's just too much in such little time.

At this point, I think Niji is trying its best to catch up to Holo as its closest and most direct competitor. From the looks of it, their current strat is to flood the market with their own talent and see who sticks. Likely trying to dartboard out a potential Gawr Gura success of their own (4.2 million subs in about 3 years btw). So far, they are doing a relatively decent job, although its still too soon to gauge the current success rate. However, I highly doubt the strat is going to hold up in the long term if they keep expanding the roster this way in the next few years. Holo has been running the marathon and is well ahead of everyone else. Niji had decided to turn the catch up into a sprint, and if they are not careful, they might end up running out of gas or devaluing their brand from the oversaturation.

Not really. Is actually Hololive who overtook Niji. Niji used to be way ahead of Hololive in 2019-2021. I don't think Niji is trying to catch up thou. They just have different business models. Niji works like a management company for streamers and focuses on creating streamers, while Holo is built up like an entertainment company, and has been trying to build Holo in a multi-media franchise.

Honestly, Niji EN should really slow down if they want to maintain a healthy community. They're barely giving any attention to some of their talents as it is, what with some of their waves like Ethyria barely getting any new merch while Luxiem gets something new every few months. Add to that the cancellations for their events and it's already causing friction within the community, with some people completely losing interest because of the back to back to back Niji Ls. They already have super talented people in their current roster, they just need some spotlight to make them shine.

Ethyria, Obsydia, Lazulight and Noctyx just had merch released for them in the last months as groups and individually many vtubers had on voice packs and merch. You have to be ignorant about reality to not see this and say they barely are giving attention, even more when just in the last merch it had petra, elira, reimu, aia, aster, shu and uki as representatives. I mean holo got around this by having continuous open auditions and then planning to hire whoever catches their eye when it's time for a new generation, which in my opinion is a bit scummy since the people who audition won't necessarily get a start date and stuff like that. I preferred the old Holo type auditions when they were open for like 2 weeks and then closed. On a side note I used to think that a lot of Niji talents were indie VTubers since there's so many of them and the quality and following varies so much, so I agree that mabye Niji should calm down a bit, then again I'm not the biggest Niji fan so it doesn't affect me. I think Holo's old strategy was the best one especially when compared to Niji and Vshojo who debuts talents too fast vs almost never. It was such a surprise for me when Haruka joined Vshojo, since I thought that they didn't have applications and was a set group.

Niji is just to me out of sense and is really making me feel concerned over the talents. I understand that having more talents and stuff is good for the money and all however if everyone is overwhelmed and loose interest they easily lose profit. Also Xsolei was my breaking point in which either they didn't care for this wave or it was an experiment I didn't like how they were planned and promo and all that stuff. The worst part may be zaion and stuff but the fact they were planned to debut 2 weeks before luxiem's anniversary is one of the worst placements I've seen and I felt so bad when I saw this and me and my friends all agreed this is not very smart planning for niji. Niji just needs to (at least in my opion) get it together if they want better results for talents and profits, this is just not it for rn. (i'm sorry for anyone willing to read this)
