Hi everyone, I noticed that the audio turned a bit bad (I don't know how that happened), but I hope you enjoyed this weeks video. Tomorrow Wednesday 20th of July 2022, the first day of the Nijmeegse Vierdaagse starts after the first day was cancelled due to the heat that we've been experiencing in The Netherlands these past few days. I hope you've learned something about a very fun event - and remember that the parties and the walk still last until Friday (so go to Nijmegen if you have the time). You can now pre-order by 'Visiting tulip fields in The Netherlands' ebook, which is filled with 100+ pages of tulip fields tips; from history to exact routes in every region to the best places to stay. Only the first 100 people get a 40% discount, so be quick, it's not waiting around: visiting-the-dutch-countryside.myshopify.com/nl/products/ebook-visiting-tulip-fields-in-the-netherlands

Let's put it this way: Words cannot (or can only hardly) describe, what the Vierdaagse and the parties in Nijmegen are. There are the young people, who were partying all night, cheering at/high-fiving/just celebrating the walkers who start their day at 4 am. You need about 15 minutes just to complete the first 200 meters. 😉 Besides the festivities in town, there's parties along the route(s) in each and every town and village - even in the rain, like it was on Thursday this year. As a walker you are "carried" by the spectators.

Oh most definitely, completely agree with you. The whole atmosphere along the whole route and in the towns are out of this world. The walkers are definitely carried by the crowds, and that is obviously an immense help to everyone who participates. It’s such a special event!
