Not just a fav 80’s song of mine, but an all time fav for me. It’s funny it’s on about 90% of the playlists on my phone. One of those songs that transcends any commonality, genre, or era that links all the other songs together on those playlists.Luv what ya did w/it. Btw I found it checking out all your DL guitar vids. I have a version of this song from ITunes from what looks to be original album. It’s a little diff from this. I was just wondering if this cut/mix of the song has any sort of other title/moniker (extended, demo, etc)

bwm5150 hard to say. Different inflections in certain words. The chorus seems to have a little more background singing mixed. It’s almost like the album version (I think it’s the one from the album anyway) his voice is isolated and a little more pronounced. Like i said it’s hard for me to describe. bwm5150 ok I thought I was going crazy and had imagined it but here it is. This is identical the (only) version available on iTunes. It’s very subtle. Some of the easier differences to pick out are say midway thru first verse listen to how the synth comes in. On this version it’s much more quiet, and how he says “spirit” right after. I know, this sounds obsessive but I’ve only did a hard comparison just now to point to clear differences. I’m sure there more as song goes on. Mainly for me it’s the chorus, it’s just more full in the version you’re playing with (and what seems to be the more famous and played version) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJCWfZl9j9WoebM This was the only “album version” as I’ve referred to it, I could find on KZbin. Maybe I can find the other version on Amazon music. After all that, both versions are fine cuz it’s such a wonderful song. Feel like it should be a lot more celebrated.

@@chriscastillo4275 The second one you linked is a rerecording of the song Nik did in either the 90's or 00's. I've never heard it before but you can tell it's a completely different vocal take from him. I got my version from iTunes from his Human Racing album.

bwm5150 ahh those bastards. I always steer clear of the ol .99 cent re-recorded versions. Just searched now and it still the only studio version available on my menu. It doesn’t bring up the Human Racing album. Oh well maybe it’ll pop up again, I’ve had that happen for other songs I’ve searched for in the past
