What overseas listeners typically call Japanese rock , with such an outstanding characteristics in fashion et cetora, may stand for Visual-Kei (Visual-Series). Of course Japanese heavy rock music consists not only of V-kei stuffs but also of artists trying to keep in pace with US and UK-EU scene, as guys like Nik already know. Nevertheless visual-kei or Anime-oriented heavy rock songs come first before other metal music in Japan. Is it because people seek something specific here? 海外兄貴たちから見たJ-RockってV系を指すことが多いよね。

If anyone is looking for more of this type of music you'll have luck in looking at Nagoya kei - the subgenre/music scene Dexcore belongs to. It's a branch of Visual kei, a similar not quite as grim style if you want that. (interpretations vary from band to band pretty wildly though so forwarning that it'll hit and miss most likely)

Thank you so much Nik Nocturnal for reacting to Visual Kei ( Visual Shock)'s VisualCore side/ scene. Visual Kei (style) has been doing Core music for years now. But as Core/ Deathcore music is more popular with internet it's quite a mainstream fad in Visual Kei now. With DEVILOOF now leading the scene. And yes the Emotional/ passionate element has always been a Standard formula in their generic music.
