The vocalist's screaming style might probably be in regards with DIR EN GREY and Neo-Visual-Kei scene. The bands in that scene began to feature screams and heavy band sound in addition to existing Visual-Kei sound with its mellow and gothic characteristics, in 2000s. DEVILOOF is one of the followers of it and is new in their approach to eccentric deathcore soundscape.

Idk if Kyo was the first guy to really master that crazy whistle scream that he's known for, but Deviloof's vocalist is the only other vocalist I've heard match it.

Those mario voices your talking about are called whistle fries. Not alot of vocalists can do them. Examples are Mike Patton, Devin Townsend,That gut from Cradle of Filth and one of my favourites. Kyo from Dir en Grey.... another Japanese metal band.

yes. music is art. and art is subjective. its nice to have variety for everyones tastes. what would the world be if there was only one flavor of icecream? or one flavor of soda? etc. i used say stuff like you did and alot of others. "hows this music?" "this is garbage" etc. but i try to not do that anymore because its simply tacky and rude behavior. and simply because im not even a musician so who am i to even think about judging? just let people live and enjoy things. no need to crap on things people enjoy. i know id hate dealing with that.
