Yeah MTG has a toooon of fringe interactions where combinations of card effects make the game really confusing for newcomers. The rules seem simple but are actually ridiculously complicated as with 27,000 cards in the game as of yet there are basically an infinite amount of possible scenarios that can occur.

The Jodah one makes sense. Whenever he would deal combat damage, the amount of combat damage he deals is equal to the power of the creature he put on the field. It's basically the same wording as Doran the Siege Tower's "Each creature assigns combat damage equal to its toughness rather than its power"

Argivian War Edga is a combo piece for any "when your opponent draws a card". Oh also as someone mentioned, you can use it with Tergrid to force a player to discard a ton of cards before yoyr turn.

Matteng of khorist combos well with Vampire Hexmage, pay 2 black to cast vampire hexmage, sac Vampire Hexmage, remove all age counters on Matteng, on upkeep add vampire hexmage to the top along with another card from your deck, draw the hexmage, repeat. 2 mana per turn to add a card you want from the GY back to your deck, and at any upkeep you could put hexmage second from the top and essentially tutor any card from your GY. sure it's not breaking games but it stops the cumulative upkeep from getting out of hand, its a decent 4 mana dimir combo, a color combination that absolutely loves card advantage.

Argivian War Edga , X (W) Each opponent draws X cards, that could be very dangerous in the right decks. If you have a punish trigger for whenever some one draws, or if you're simply doing a mill deck, or if you have a trigger that cares how many cards are in some one's hand you can give them a very big hand that they don't have to discard right away and then they do have to discard it later to lose those cards. That's a very powerful card with many applications and I would totally use it.

I can see a combo with Argrivan War Edga, with things like Rhystic Study and Smothering Tithe. I make everyone draw three cards, and if they can't pay 12 mana, I draw three cards and make three treasure tokens. Add Annointed Procession, Doubling Season, or any other token doubler, and you now also have an infinite mana combo with Smothering Tithe.

Jodah just deals combat damage in the amount equal to that creatures power, it becomes linked to it in a sense. So you can buff the other creature and Jodah would also deal increased damage, during Combat.

Oko's Authority is a cool concept for a card. Flip a coin, buff a creature or kill it. I especially love the if you "win the coin toss" so it's backwards lol just to be more of a trickster troll card, perfectly inline with Oko as a prankster fairy. It needs to be an instant and/or cheaper, it being sorcery kinda kills it's value as a potential combat trick. It should probably also be either or part blue or green, alot of fairies are black but I don't think Oko ever was.

It's pretty clear that the ai philosophy behind the card is opposite to your notion. The sorcery is a gamble to destroy an opponent's creature. You target a creature and buff it, this is the trade off. You then flip a coin and if you win you get to destroy that target creature. If you lose then you buff their creature until the end of turn. Yes, you can use it as a gambit per your example but the way that Oko's Authority is written implies the opposite. This is a nerfed Dreadbore.

Agree This would be good as an off-black instant destruction effect. Green makes the most sense. The added cost and inconsistency are the price paid for cramming this thing into a deck that otherwise doesn't have access to destruction.

war edga card nasty, since you can make people draw cards. there are things out there that say if you draw a card you lose life or mill cards. so you play this combo with argivian war of edga and sheoldred the apocalypse. since could spend one white and any amount of mana. so lets say you have total 9 mana one is white other 8 any color or colorless. with sheoldred the apocalypse table. you could make people 16 damage a turn. also argivian war of edga with black vise will work too. since could do this at being of some turn and have sheoldred the apocalypse take tons of damage
