Pyrerodon Drifter has some shenanigans potential. since there are cards that temporarily bring creatures back to the field, usually with a "if this creature would leave the battlefield, exile it instead", the ability to become a copy of itself basically let's it shed the effect and become a normal copy of itself.

Third third of this video: (58:38) Surge of Death: Word salad, shred. It was almost okay, up until the point where I couldn't get a minotaur deck. My Didgeridoos are sad now. :P (1:00:39) Unified Aslent: Word salad, shred. This card is a definite "don't" alright. (1:02:33) Soul Scout: Likely OP, ship then ban later. Yeah, I think it's way too easy to gain control of stuff with this guy. Maybe if it said "until end of turn" for that stealing effect, it would be more fair. (1:05:07) Anathem, the Ronin: OP, ship then ban. Way too much card advantage in the first two chapters for just 3 mana, and then you can turn all your mana dorks and other nonblack creatures into untargetable behemoths on the final chapter. I'd say... if this card's cost was around 6 mana instead, it would be fair. (1:07:18) Zillimancer Forax-Sting: Word salad, shred. Power and toughness are *s, but not defined in the card's text. Also, I cannot fathom what fathomless devour 1 does. Oh, and there's an improper comma just before the period at the end of the last sentence. (1:08:41) Maybe fathomless devour 1 causes this creature's base power and toughness to be equal to the number of creatures you sacrifice as it enters the battlefield? That would still be kinda weak, though. How about having its base p/t be equal to the combined p/t of however many creatures you decide to sacrifice as you summon it? (1:10:30) Ab Caor: Word salad, shred. Well, this _Was_ good, until Was 2 made it leave the battlefield... Get rid of the "Was 2" part entirely, and this card would be decent as just a simple 1/4 menace for 2 mana. (1:12:02) Azorius Samurai: OP, ship then ban. First of all, this guy is actually Boros, not Azorius. Secondly, multiple instances of lifelink are redundant, so you won't gain twice as much life. And thirdly, a 3/7 practically unblockable horsemanship creature for just 3 mana is kinda pushed. I'd up the mana cost to 4 or 5 and get rid of the duplicate lifelink to fix this guy. Also, either change its colors to white/blue, or change its name to Boros Samurai. Oh, and fix the reminder text on horsemanship there, since it seems to have betrayed the horses and is voting for flying. :P (1:14:19) For Bear Able: Word salad, shred. It doesn't say exactly how much mana you get, so wording is certainly not bearable. (1:15:34) Nicol Bolas: Disqualified, as a card by that exact name already exists, and it's the dragon that's comfortably sitting in his chair and reading a book. Aside from the name, this card is doable, though not very strong. Since it involves making Saprolings, maybe it's around the Fallen Empires level of power? :P (1:17:26) Battle Rats: Fair, ship. Simple and effective. Maybe a bit pushed, but I like this one a lot. It Zibers! (1:18:56) Field of Life: OP, ship then ban. It's either uncastable without jumping through some hoops, or it's a free Mox Pearl if it's in your opening hand. If this was a "Cost it!" type of thing, I'd give it a mana cost of 3. However, I'd also give it a downside for being able to start with it already on the battlefield, maybe by exiling a card from your hand. (1:21:20) Ravenous Rage: Fair, ship. Huh, quite the interesting use of rebound. The way that works, you have to wait a turn after casting it before it actually sticks on the battlefield, so it's not just an immediate blue Sol Ring. Kinda like suspend 1. It Zibers!
@SomeGuy712x10 ай бұрын
Second third of this video: (30:38) Siren of the Stealed Miona: Fair, word salad, ship. Well, I'm all for cards that are partying! Just gotta figure out what that means. Maybe this creature also counts as a Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, and Wizard, just like Stonework Packbeast? That would be neat. (33:00) Lightning Bolt isn't a permanent, so it doesn't matter whether or not a Lightning Bolt "dies" when it goes to the graveyard. (33:29) Tarfin Steppe: Fair, ship. Interesting mana ramper that you gotta work for, but I can see this being potentially really good in a dedicated enchantment-filled deck. (35:16) Mystic Force: Word salad, OP, shred. The "top all cards"? If that said something like "top two cards of target player's library" instead, then this would make more sense, and would be fair. (37:57) Gear of Singularition: Fair, ship. Combos with Wheel effects. And, it even works well with the Blood tokens it can create. Neat. (39:52) Power of Meditation: Fair, ship. It's basically a blue version of Prey Upon, though it's at instant speed here, but I don't think that makes it broken or anything. Also, I'm not sure how meditation encourages fighting, but whatever works, I guess. Maybe that's why the Meditate move in Pokémon raises the user's Attack power. :P (41:39) Icefang Measure: Horribly underpowered, don't even ship it until that "6" is taken out of the mana cost so that it's just a single blue mana to cast. Even then, it probably wouldn't be all that great. (43:04) Cephalid Kringed: OP, ship then ban. Welp, gaining control of each player totally breaks this card, even if it requires there to be a flying creature in play. IT DANGER!!! (45:42) Valley Sengirin: OP, ship then ban. I think being indestructible makes this a bit too pushed. Remove the indestructible part from it, and maybe add a reasonable way for it to gain +1/+1 counters onto itself (like maybe if it destroys a creature in combat, similar to Sengir Vampire), so that its bottom ability can more easily function. (45:54) Angelic Overseer does if you control a Human, and Anya, Merciless Angel does if an opponent has less than half their starting life total. (48:35) Canpions // Call to Odds: Underpowered // Word Salad, shred. I think the AI had a fow too much to drink here. Don't drink and get vehicled! :P (50:00) Well, the Playtest card Lightning Colt is an instant creature, so that part is totally doable, even if quite unusual. (50:24) LOL, mtribuh for power/toughness. That just made me burst into laughter... and I think it gave me the hiccups too. :P (50:48) Dance of Protection: Target Cars: Word salad, shred. Not sure how to skip my library. Do I try to skip it across a body of water like skipping a stone? :P (52:13) Edgar Gustchisher: Fair, ship. Combine this guy with something that lets your creatures deal damage equal to their toughness rather than their power, and you've got something neat here. It Zibers! (Also, thanks for reminding us what counts as historic.) (54:05) Hand the Meldwal: Maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. First of all, its evoke is kinda useless. However, played normally, it might be a bit nuts. Of course, it is quite vulnerable to removal, and you have to be playing the proper colors to make use of this. (56:49) Kinason Goria: Maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. Usually, this is going to be 1 mana = opponent loses 5, and then it can be flashed back to do it again for 3 mana. But, if the opponent can't spare the 5 life, RIP their hand, and probably their chances of winning in most cases. On the other hand, if the opponent has no hand already, or wants their hand in the graveyard for whatever shenanigans they're doing, then this spell isn't going to help you at all. So, maybe it's not so OP? Hmm...
@SomeGuy712x10 ай бұрын
First third of this video: (0:08) Tiretow: OP, ship then ban. Wow, this puts stuff like Yawgmoth's Will to shame! (1:32) Fleshmaid Witchbreaker // Pirate's Laburator: Word salad, shred. The Aftermath side lacks a mana cost. I'd probably cost it at 4 mana, since it's unconditional removal, but you could also use it on something of your own that's indestructible or can regenerate to give it a big boost. The creature side is boringly weak, but it is interesting to see a split card that's a creature first, then an Aftermath spell second. (3:41) Goblin Realm: OP, ship then ban. This goes infinite with a ham sandwich. For example: Infinite mana with Paradise Mantle. But, here's the real question that Candlejack is wondering: "How did I that bo (5:23) Raisen Barrage: OP, ship then ban. Yeah, just put any permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield for just 2 mana and 1 life. IT DANGER!!! (8:14) Pyrerodon Drifter: Underpowered, ship then never play. Well, at least you can make it be shaped like itself. Now, if this allowed you to make it a copy of another creature instead, then we'd be talking. (9:35) Hapbost's Eyes: Likely OP, ship then ban later if needed. 8/8 for 5 mana is already strong, but not too OP (see Fusion Elemental and Gigantosaurus). However, then it gets even more upsides. However, everything here is doable, and it even got the effect of Constellation correct. Doctor's Companatilize is certainly a weird phrase, but it's italicized, so it's just flavor and doesn't carry any rules meaning itself. (9:54) Green is apparently the new red, or something. :P (11:36) Kanda Profispur Gruft: Maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. Wow, what card advantage you can get off of that cumulative upkeep. But, be careful of getting too greedy, as it will rapidly sap your life total too. It may actually be fair in that regard. Honestly, I think dude Zibers! (13:58) Huscal Deyte: Word salad, shred. Yeah, this cat looks confused when trying to read ahehlon. Also, Candlejack now wonders when defender (16:22) Grower at the Sunset: Word salad, shred. How many more +1/+1 counters? At least you can make its base stats 2/6 for a single mana from a snow source. Also, it's got a built-in Moat effect, and powers up your knights. This would be classified as OP if the first ability specified an actual number for the +1/+1 counters. (18:31) Karn, Maller of Manshio: Maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. That +1 is so busted, but it does take 6 mana to summon this guy in the first place, and you need a creature with a +1/+1 counter on it to even make use of it. Also, the first strike means nothing since it also gives double strike, and it gives a duplicate trample. Oh, and the -9 is totally not worth it, and is missing a pair of closing quotation marks. (22:15) Balethor, Reblesser Morneyer: Fair, ship. I'm guessing mountain flying means this creature has flying as long as there's a Mountain land on the battlefield. If so, that's really neat, and this Elaths! Stats could probably be higher for that mana cost, though. (24:05) Oh, whoops! It does indeed incorrectly say "Mountian" instead of "Mountain". Well, aside from that typo, this is still a neat ability concept. (24:38) Frong, the Ocorarian: Word salad, shred. Well, an Ongoing Enchantment is certainly something new. Maybe "Ongoing" means it's an Enchantment that's allowed to have loyalty abilities printed on it. If so, we've got some neat design space here. Too bad the first ability works against you, and the third ability is nonsense. (27:36) Alimor, the Sword War Patrol: OP, ship then ban. So, we've got Mutate on a noncreature artifact, which can allow its keyword abilities to be placed on a non-human creature. Neat design space there. However, the middle ability is way too powerful of a search effect. And, 5 mana for 13 damage to any target is also OP, especially since it's an ability you can just reuse every turn. Conversely, 9 mana to draw a card is way too expensive. To fix this, I'd get rid of the library-searching middle ability entirely, then swap the mana costs of the last two abilities, so that it's 5 mana to draw a card, and 9 mana to deal 13 damage. Keep the mutate and the three other keyword abilities, though. Those are really neat together.

I have no clue on the nitty gritty mechanics of MTG, does the card go from the deck to the battlefield then?
@oelboy10 ай бұрын
@@kairotoxFirst of all, 400.7 clarifies that moving zones makes any object a new object. "400.7. An object that moves from one zone to another becomes a new object with no memory of, or relation to, its previous existence. This rule has the following exceptions." In order to have many effects function (for example Madness or Greasefang, Okiba Boss's ability) there are several exceptions. One big exception is from the following rule: "400.7j If an effect causes an object to move to a public zone, other parts of that effect can find that object. If the cost of a spell or ability causes an object to move to a public zone, that spell or ability’s effects can find that object." Since the library is a "hidden zone" and not a public zone, this exception doesn't apply in the case of Blightsteel Colossus. Magic basically works in a way that you are not allowed to do anything unless a rule or card tells you otherwise. This means the answer oftentimes boils down to "this doesn't work because nothing in the rules says it does" which is not easily quotable in KZbin comments. 😅 I'd recommend you read 400.7 in the rules if you don't want to take my word for it.

The ai is a misnomer they're usually language models that don't think but predict. There's a thought experiment called the Chinese box where you're in a box with a book of chinese translations and someone's slipping questions in Chinese under the door and you're answering them in Chinese. To the person asking the questions, you appear to be fluent in Chinese. That's what these models are really like.
@SeanMirrsen10 ай бұрын
What you're describing is a pre-AI predictive model, something like a Markov chain generator. The AI used for Roborosewater Masters is conceptually similar, but it's using a neural net for deciding what to choose rather than RNG, and it's using data from existing cards to make the cards more coherent than a simple language model could do.

The Chinese Box thought experiment is inherently meaningless - _by definition_ this hypothetical difference is entirely unprovable and has absolutely no observable effect. The Chinese Box also applies to _all_ minds, _yours included._ You could be a Chinese box and there would be no way to tell, because _by definition_ a Chinese Box is _completely_ indistinguishable from 'just knowing Chinese'.
@somdudewillson6 ай бұрын
@@SeanMirrsen The Chinese Box thought experiment does actually apply to even modern neural networks, but that's because it applies to _all_ systems with input and output (including humans). @kairotox10 ай бұрын
Also, for the Frong card (Ongoing enchantment): I read the ultimate as whenever one of your creatures attacks, deal its attack to each opponent (which is a much less weird way to word it), because the opponent has pseudo-toughness - life, but no attack themselves, so they deal 0 damage to the creature, and the creature deals its attack back to the player. This would be STRONG as an ultimate, and since the enchantment doesn't go away, the rules might allow multiple instances of the emblem, so every other turn, you'd have another emblem, so every time a creature attacks, it does 2x (then 3x, 4x, etc) its attack to each opponent.
