One of my best Christmas gifts ever. It was December 23rd 1995, dad and I went out for Christmas shopping and I was looking for the away colorway but they were gone immediately when they came out in November. We went everywhere, footlocker, champs, sports authority, just for feet, athlete's foot, foot action...you name it. I really wanted that colorway. We didn't end up buying any shoe. For my surprise, on the morning of the 25th I was opening Christmas gifts and they were not the colorway I wanted but I got the home colorway and they really looked cool. That day the Magic were playing the Rockets at noon and I was wearing them while watching my boy Penny hitting the winning basket. Great memories. Thanks dad! R.I.P. 🙏🏻 Really miss you man.😢

Fantastic shoe that brings back a lot of memories. Side story: When he played for the Suns I sold Penny some Gameboy Advance SPs for his kids while working at an EB Games in the mall.

Penny was one of my favourite players back in the 90's. Only NBA player I can think of that had a doll AKA Little Penny. Was never able to get a pair of Penny shoes so here's hoping I can finally get my hands on a pair now. You guys rock, watching your videos is always my favourite distraction when I finally get my break at the hospital.

I gotta say Chris that i have GH33 slightly above the " Lebron before lebron" convo. These 2 are my 2 biggest what ifs. Carter, Kobe and AI would really have difficulty that era if GH and Penny remained healthy

This is definitely one of my favorite shoes of all time! It's at least the one I lusted over the most. I had these in '95 along with the away colorway and All-star colorway. But the Home was by far my favorite. It was a very limited release and only sold at Good Sports here in San Antonio. None of the big box retailers got them. I can still see the Lil' Penny commercial with Lil' Penny throwing a party while Penny was on the road. Ahh the 90s, what a great time to grow up. Good times!

Sooo as a person who actually owned the originals in 1995 the originals had 3M on the trim so I’m a tad disappointed! Great review and I’ll probably still cop BUT we NEED that 3M on the “Orlando” colorway!!

I'll never forget going to Niketown in downtown Seattle to get the newest pairs back in Jr High and High School so I could wear them on the court. Best marketing campaign I've ever seen also. A lot of the 90s shoes my mom couldn’t afford. Heck all of the 90s shoes she couldn’t afford until they went to footlocker outlet. My cousin had this model and killed them so bad. I begged him to let me have them. He said no however, when we went to open gym he gave the shoes to his friend instead. I was crushed. My cousin isn’t here anymore and I miss him. I’m getting these tomorrow because I miss that man so much. Rip cuz…oh and go down .5 size they run kind of big.

Im torn on these. Aesthetically, the Penny 1 really is one of the most beautiful sneakers ever. But I agree with you on the fit. Im a wide footer and even in a half size down i had a sloppy heel fit. I never liked how they felt when i walked in them 😭 I cant wait for the Social Status Penny 1s to come out.

pennys personal pairs had an extra eyelet at the top of the shoe by the tongue which locked the shoe in place

First basketball sneaker my mother ever bought me was the black and blue penny 2 which was a huge deal in 5th grade because we were broke and I was wearing BS before those, wore em until the air unit popped lol, needless to say the penny line has a very special place for me, can't wait for these.

Ahh, remember these. I was in the US at the time and my brother wanted a pair so bad I had to go through all the malls and shops, they were sold out XD. When I got back we went to Italy for shopping and found him a pair at Footlocker, they were the black and blue accents pair. Very cool shoe back then, and he loved playing in them.

These were fairly rare even in Orlando back in the day. The rich kid in middle school was the only one with this colorway. We all really wanted them and he stunted all over that school with them.

Cop these in the orlando colorway, i go size 12 as usual but if you are a wide footer I recommend you go have size bigger. These are a pain on my foot especially the pinky I've had to sell them.

Still think about these shoes. I bought these in this color in 95 or early 96 too (forgot). Still have these buried in storage somewhere lol. In the 90’s there was this shoe repair shop at the mall for scuffed up shoes or whatever ….and this dude would repaint these for me…and they would look amazing. Don’t know if anyone here is old enough to remember these spots… Also my friend borrowed them and got the original laces jacked up…so he replaced them with Jordan 11 laces

I think I know what it is. the black and white have like a microfiber material on the black part but the white ones are all leather and it kinda gives it a slimming effect. The black and white ones just look bulkier on feet. im coppin the white ones. ima rock them shyts so hard with black nike joggers and black nike crewneck sweater.

The air penny 1 and 3 used airmax2 air unit, and you are right the ogs used bigger air units. Sucks tho the airmax2 units are not frequently used just so i can fix my og penny 1s. 😭😭😭

Thank GOD the jewel logo isn’t as light blue as the photos that’ve been going around! I’ve only seen these ONCE in real life back in the late 90’s worn by some guy waiting on a street corner in Toronto. 27 years I’ve been waiting for these. I’m poor as shit but if I can double up I will. I also like that the tongue appears to be a bit shorter than the OG’s. I’ve always hated big tongues on shoes, even back in the 90’s. So even if it’s not faithful to the OG that’s a plus for me. Can’t freakin wait.
