Nike Alphafly 3 Blueprint Edition - Epic Upgrade or Nike Hype?

So tempting to get these as the colourway is stunning (fav colour blue) but I can't justify getting another pair (£££) when I already have the Proto colourway which looks amazing too and with only 60km on it.

@@NeillyVille 😂 I hear you - they are expensive that’s for sure, but better than spending it on junk food or alcohol I say (I always find a way to justify it 😂). I have the volt as well as I couldn’t get the proto, but I loved that too.

No doubt that this colourway is sexy and I have a set on the way from Nike. Really wanted the volt though as the Blueprint Edition are going to get filthy in no time...

These are not trainers but more racing shoes. But it is really easy to make all these super shoes as trainers and ignore those heavy daily trainers…very costly suddenly 😅 (mistakes I made already!)

@@anglenghong that’s right - and especially the Alphafly 3. At this cost you need to save them for race day for the most part. I love the invincible 3 for day to day miles.

@@anglenghong oh no, sorry to hear that. I actually preferred the invincible 2 but also get in well with the 3. Also like the infinity but not owned a pair of them.

@@Runningonthemind The energy returns features on the Vaporfly and Alphafly makes me always want to choose these super shoes instead of daily trainers even though the trainers are supposed to be 'injury' prevention but to me it is more injury prone than the super shoes which are lighter but too costly to use for daily trainings, unless you are a pro and has the budget for it. What a dilemma for runners these days! 😅

@@chenmoney1920 if you want carbon plate and Nike then the Alphafly 2 is more durable and will take a heel strike better. So will the Vaporfly 3 which I have several pairs of. The hoka rocket 2 and the adidas adios pro 3 very worthwhile to look at.

Front of the shoe at toe cap is entirely too soft. One scuff or scrap and the shoe is destroyed.

For activities such as dance would you recommend?

Not advised at all, these are for road racing and especially designed for that purpose. The carbon plate tips you forward and would likely be terrible for balance in an activity like dance. 💃🏻 👍

Hey, so I got these new shoes, right? They're super light and comfy, but they squeak like crazy. Every time I walk, it's like I'm announcing my arrival. It's driving me nuts! Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it?

@@bunnypop6018 they are loud (but actually quieter than the alpha 2s). Most super shoes with carbon plates are noisy, especially on a surface other than tarmac. They thud a lot on tarmac as your run. I don’t think there is too much you can do but I found they did get a little quieter after several runs. I have the Metaspeed Paris by Asics too as they have the same issue

@Runningonthemind I don’t mind the sound while running on tarmac, but the excessive squeaking while walking on concrete and even on carpet is very loud.

@@bunnypop6018 I hear you. Hopefully it will reduce with time but I expect they will always be noisy compared to not carbon plate shoes. Hope you really enjoy them though, they are fantastic

My pair just arrived, using them for a marathon. How many kilometres does it take to break them in?

@@nathanruban3569 nice - you’ll love them. Mine felt great straight away but I’d advise a few tempo runs in them before the marathon.. and definitely on even road surface. Enjoy 👍

@@jt.8144 na - it was a good question as Nike shoes differ for how long they take to get to their best.. but as you say, the more you do in them the quicker they get there. I found the Alphas are great from the box but Vaporfly 3 need a good 50k+ until they feel like they are doing the job
