I think they’ve come a long way. The sound quality is totally acceptable. However, compared to the competition of the open-ear earbuds of today (like the Bose Ultra Open) it’s hard to justify these for someone seeking the highest sound quality. These did show their colors in having nearly nothing in your ears. It was super transparent to hear what was going on around you, but even with that I found myself pausing the music to be able to do more in-depth tasks like talking to people.

@@NewbGamingNetworks absolutely agree with all you’ve said. They will never compare to the likes of Bose but they have a lot of great about them in their own way. The think the word used and what I emphasised was acceptable and I think you have that totally spot on. Acceptable sound and fantastic open ear experience is finally the right balance.

Thoughts of a 70-year-old man. Well, I’ve had my Epix for three weeks now. Every week I have learned more things about it, along with Garmin Connect. There have been a couple of things let’s call them glitches which have puzzled me, but by and large the Epix surpasses my expectations. For instance, this week I decided to track my trainer use on Garmim Connect. As I was doing this, thinking that it would be a little tedious updating the log I noted that through the link with the watches activity setting the mileage covered during the activity was automatically shared with the metric tracking my trainers use. Just a detail, but it reminded me of how clever the software was in these units. I’m joining the gym next week and will be using my Epix to track gym, workouts in a attempt! to get my fitness age lower than 64.5. My aim is to beat the target of 59.5. This week I’m going to spend studying the metrics on the Epix and Garmin connect. So that I am more able to utilise these tools.

I’ve been wearing my new balance since then and they’ve been fine for walking. With some foot care, the blister has been okay. I tried jogging for 100 m. on my walk today. So since I spent £18 A pair for my darn tough socks I decided that a few pair of SHUY, socks shouldn’t be out of the question. I’ll order some. Joining the gym next week, primarily to do some strength training on my legs since I have a bad knee and a physiotherapist recommended that I strengthen the muscles around the knee. It only bothers me when I walk upstairs. It’s a little bit painful. Also decided to Purchase a pair of Asics running shoes. Going to the gym will be handy in the winter when I don’t feel like running or walking in the street. I can get on the treadmill when the weather is bad. Thanks for all your comments.

Thoughts of a 70-year-old man. After two weeks with the Epix i’m pleased to say that my fitness level is increasing. My heart rate is lower on my walks and I have a predicted fitness age of 64.5. In terms of accuracy I’ve heard it said that the Epix is 80% accurate in some of its metrics. This seems fair enough to me. As I strive for my predicted fitness, age of, 59.5 I look forward to getting in the gym next week with my Epix and am pretty sure that as I increase my training that fitness age of 59.5 will be smashed. The capabilities of the Epix are outstanding, and I’ve only just scratched the surface. I have to chuckle at the advice Garmin connect suggests from time to time.

@@tomasvujicschelin9659 thank you, appreciate it. I just tried it out after seeing your question. The sound actually seems better, fuller and more base. I’ve several pairs of VP 3 too and love them also. The difference for the AF3 is that they feel more stable and more cushioned. The zoom pods make a difference and the propulsion on the AF3 is more prominent. The AF3 are more comfortable but the weight difference is noticeable (the VF3 being a fair bit lighter). If you heel strike normally then they will wear but if you only heel strike when fatigued then you’ll be ok I would say. The main thing here is that to get the best of the AF3 you need to run at 85% max + of your fastest pace and usually when you do naturally you’ll be more on your mid to forefoot anyway. More thoughts of a 70 year old man, After one week of using the Garmin Epix Pro 51 mm Sapphire, watch, I am very much impressed by the watches capabilities and ease of use. I say ease of use although I have yet to utilise the watches capabilities. I managed to walk a modest, 11 miles this week at an easy pace.Analysing Garmin connect I am staggered at the amount of metrics saved after an activity. My goal next week is to increase my mileage and pace. In a fortnights time I’ll be joining the gym and can’t wait to Utilise the Epix there. The watch far out, reaches my modest capabilities. The only downside to the use of the watch this week has been my inability to access the sleep mode properly. I’m getting some of the metrics such as sleep stage but I’m not able to get a full breakdown of my sleep mode. initially it seemed to be working fine, but all of a sudden I’ve been unable to access data. My watch just states no data. I am advised to keep the watch on at night. I’ve never taken the watch off this week So I am at a loss as to what I’m doing wrong. if anybody as any ideas way 12:45 this should be, please advise me. I bought a top of the range Apple Watch, 4 years ago and it seems to be a bit of a toy compared to the Garmin.

Joy. Last night my watch recorded my sleep data. Seems as if the software may have been a little buggy but anyway it seems to be working fine now. I’m really pleased with this watch and my purchase.

They are reasonably available here in the UK. I’ve got 3 pairs and just ordered the purple colour, you just have to be quick in ordering after they go on sale. 👍

Excellent, insightful… blessed that i discovered your channel. Very motivational. Of all the thousands of hours i’ve watched your’s is at the very top. I used to be a runner even in snow blown winters I’m now desiring to get back to those golden moments. Much appreciate your inspirational sharing of your thoughts. Yes, helpful. Thank you!

@@kevinsmith5318 wow Kevin, thank you for such a kind and warm comment and feedback. Running is a wonderful way to find balance and in addition to all the health benefits, it’s so powerful for great mental health and a life focused on positive outcomes rather than short term fixes like alcohol. Please keep me updated on your journey and all the very best of luck 🫡
