Here i was hoping that since Thomas is doing this one alone, he can finally go into the nitty gritty details on how they feel under the fatpads. But he restrained himself wow.

I’m more excited about the AF3 today (since it’s going to be widely available) but very interested to see what Adidas is able to bring from the Evo 1 into their other shoes in the next 2-3 years.

Nice job all by yourself, Thomas! Satisfies that curiosity factor about the Evo1 which I know I’ll never try. I did get the AF3 for a 30 day trial when I went in planning to buy a fresh pair of Endo Pro3’s😂 Jury is out but they’re awfully impressive, coming from someone who never wanted to try another Nike racer after returning the VF Next% several years ago!

I used to run in the Vaporfly before switching to the Alphafly 1, but after just one test run, I had to send them back to Nike because they felt so uncomfortable. I then made the switch to the Adios Pro for my marathons. Now, for a change, I’m planning to give the newest Alphafly a try after watching this great review. By the way, I recently ran the 50th Anniversary Berlin Marathon, and it was one of my best experiences. Looking forward to listening to your podcast to hear about your experience in Berlin!

Enjoyed the video Thomas and loved your insight into the two shoes. I obviously haven't run in the adidas but have the AF3 and feel like it will be a great shoe. Prices have just gone silly though!

The saltiness in these comments about the prices of these shoes. Guys (and gals), if you're not buying it then don't watch the video! Or just... don't comment? Some of us are just curious, and appreciate the detailed comparison.

LOL ... ikr ... like somehow $300 for a pair of shoes is justified but $500 is "too much" LOL ... The have and the have nots ... we all know that everyone secretly want that $500 pair so bad, but gets angry when they can't afford it. Now they know how an average runner feels when they can't afford super shoes.

I’m not sure. My warm up paces are in the nines and the shoe still feels good. It really sings when you through an effort in though.

Airpod popped so I took out some zoom foam from an old pair and replaced the pads with the foam. The shoes were faster and felt better. The airpods I doubt have anything to do with performance but they are definitely more durable than the foam. Have to to put in new foam every 100 miles. That is why I think Nike went with the pods.

Can we ask Nike why they can't make a slightly lighter version of the vaporfly? I can take a slight hit on the durability by less rubber and maybe even channel out some foam.
@NateCrail9 ай бұрын
the vaporfly is already one of the lightest marathon racers and is way more durable than the evo 1

I think the Nike is an easy choice here. The fact that the adidas shoe is basically one time use is basically a zero value proposition for a non elite non-professional runner. I'm sure that there will be people with more money than sense that went to buy it but realistically the Nike is just a better choice
@RunForPeace-hk1cu8 ай бұрын
The value proposition is the shoe is 110gr ... and the AF3 is 180gr But $300 for a pair of running shoes isn't "more money than sense" .. .but $500 makes you a moron. LOL

AF2 was the most stable shoe out of all the versions of AFs. It’s unfortunate that Nike has downgraded to AF3, which is such a wobbly unstable shoe.

I honestly don’t think it would be very difficult for Nike to get a vaporfly to around 5 ounces if they just threw durability out of the window and used a forked plate
