I heard the traction on these get better as the coating on the XDR rubber outsole wears off the raw rubber, sort of like a break in period for the traction, got these in the haven color way EP version aswell.

I thought they were decent from the start, wipe here and there and they were good. The XDR is such a great feature though, let's you play indoors or outdoors and is generally better from a grip standpoint.

Is the XDR rubber non-marking?

Usually if they’re non-marking it’s indicated on the outsole. In the Book 1 EP it doesn’t have any kind of indication so I don’t think so.

EP ISNT BUILT ON A DIFFERENT LAST ANYMORE, THEY STOPPED DOING THAT A FEW YEARS AGO, THE ONLY DIFFERENT IS THE RUBBER ON THE OUTSOLE. YES THEY USED TO BE DIFFERENT LASTS BUT SINCE COVID THEY USE THE SAME LASTS FOR ALL VERSIONS. NIKE HAS STATED THIS.

I noticed the EP’s are slightly wider. I have wide feet should I go true to size or go up half a size even though they are ep’s?

If you're a wide footer, definitely go true to size with the EP. My non-EP version is much more snug.

i tried dbook 1 in store halloween. 8.5 fit me best. i wear kobe 8s size 10 & ae1s 9.5 which is weird.

You can actually see the difference between the EP and the domestic release, by the width of the toebox. It's pretty noticeable when compared , side by side.

@ianl464 definitely more wide, much more roomier. I have the US version as well in the same size and they fit a bit tight. Wearing them will break them in but the EP version fit perfect from the start.

I think you should be ok with either. I personally go with EPs because of how well they fit me (wide feet). The solid outsole vs translucent is a factor too. From different reviews I've read translucent outsoles tend to not be as tacky but with that said I don't know how much of a difference between the solid vs translucent on the Book 1 there is if that makes sense.
