I can understand why some people don’t like the shoe, but if you know anything about Booker the design makes a lot of sense. The guy is into vintage cars and retro outfits and stuff so it matches his style… “It didn’t looked like a basketball shoe, it’s very casual looking, it’s not like anything a professional basketball player should be performing in…” Those words, instead of threw me off, are what makes this shoe interesting

the people who don't like this shoe don't like how non basketball they are, but thats not a bad thing. i wear these things on court and i immediately stand out just because no one else wears this shoe.

This shoe is so darn underrated. One of my favorite shoes within the last 5 years. Great looking, comfortable, and can wear on or off the court. Please drop the cool greys for the Book 1 ! So many great options in the future. The slate colorway is the best so far

I think they're very wearable from a casual perspective. I bought one for that sole purpose. They're definitely underrated! Agree with your thoughts on these. If I am to nitpick, maybe another zoom unit in the forefoot for extra comfort would make this awesome

I don't get the hate on this shoes... I think Book actually accomplished what Nike has been trying to do... a Basketball shoe that can be worn casually too. I saw them in person a couple of weeks ago and they looked very nice.

Weartesters had this colorway in a solid rubber outsole from an ebay seller and even though it was a minor change, that sold me on this particular color, at least. I'd consider giving these a try after the various positive reviews I've seen on youtube now.

I wasn't feeling these from Day 1. Then I saw this colorway, in person, for the first time last weekend at House of Hoops. Once I actually had them in hand, checked how light they were, how good the materials were and really got a good look at them, flipped my opinion.

I’ve liked the look of the Book 1 better as more colorways have released but I think that some of that is from how the design team borrowed elements from other iconic silhouettes in the Nike archive. The Book 1 is ok but it’s not putting a dent in what Adidas Basketball is doing right now. As far as casual wear, I’ll just stick to New Balance.

The Luka 3s are reported to have Cushlon 3.0, I’ll be surprised if the LeBron 22s don’t have it as well. I believe it has 2.0 because 3.0 was still in R&D when these shoes were being created.

That's funny because the Book 1 is weirdly enough one of the best sneakers Nike has. They're simple but yet good enough. Suede is nice on them. I'd do a AM1 suede mesh combination with the right colour blocking it will be a big sleeper. ❤

Botched launch, right up to the fact they're unavailable now. They look ok, your video is the closest ive seen them and you're right, better than I expected. But rather than letting the shoe speak for itself, they decided to make false hype with that limited first drop of the best, imo, CW and then nothing but PEs that no one could buy. And because the shoe is nice, but not special, people just shrugged and kept it moving. And there is no excuse that there arent GR numbers available of it now except theyre trying to make something that should happen naturally. Ill get a pair when they drop a CW I want and I dont have to jump hurdles. I dont know how they screwed this up so poorly. Ja Morant's shoe launched with none of the theatrics.

It's like a premium AF1. But is there a huge market for that? Maybe, maybe not. It's selling well but there's not huge buzz behind it, which matches the shoe: solid not spectacular. Personally I will need to see better colorways before I part with my cash.

Can’t justify the price point. If I can cop a pair for $90-$100, I will. Likely a different colorway. The “Moss Point” dropping in the Spring are pretty clean. Heard 1/2 size up for wider feet ala Jordan 4. Can anybody confirm?

I think the biggest knock has been it adds nothing to the conversation while adidas seems to be pushing boundaries with signature shoes that continue from where EQT left off. EQT was too far ahead in the ‘00s, but the world seems ready in 2023-2024. You described this as something that hits on a retro level as though Nike needs more retros. The brand just announced its slowing production of retros including AF1. That opinion stands after your review. That stated, it’s a casual wearable shoe. ✌🏽💙👟

The combination of the athlete, how they rolled it out, and unoriginal colorways built the hate for it. They teased us with SBB inspired colorway which had nothing to do with the athlete. It looks good no doubt, but nike needs to use “write the book” with fresh colorways related to the athlete.
