Nike Book 1 - Simply Brilliant - In Depth Performance Review

After playing with the Nike Book 1 for over 15 hours, it’s safe to say this is the best basketball sneaker Nike has to offer. That’s a bold statement and a heavy title, but the Book 1 achieves this with a simple formula.
A spacious midfoot. A comfy heel zoom air unit. Premium materials that are very lightweight. A simple yet highly effective herringbone traction pattern that grips the dustiest of courts.
Is this a good sneaker for an older hooper? 100%.

You will definitely enjoy them! Amazing traction. Give them at least 6 hrs to break in. The toe snugness will go away.

@@OldManSneakerReview got it today, this is the most wide foot friendly shoes i've ever had. fits me perfectly! i have crazy wide foot wider than 4E. i have Hoka and new balance 4E shoes. i would say the fit is comparable. It feels nimble and lighter than my kobe 6 and kobe 5. People mis interpret it as snug or narrow because the pointy part of the shoes taper sharply and sooner it means the shoes is wide and not narrow. I've got EP and half size up.

These are lighter than the pumas by 100 grams. The pumas can be found for a great price. Can’t say the same about the Book 1s as of March 2024.

Hello sir! I’m a size 13 so I stuck with my tts. I’ve played with them for a few weeks and the toe box area has widened up. Great shoe! Also testing he KD16 right now. That’s an amazing shoe. Just feel so competent when I play with them.

I reach for the Books more because they are wider and more comfortable. Then when you tighten the laces and start hooping, they feel like a performance shoe!

@@OldManSneakerReview I am still looking for a shoe better than the 36's. The Cushing and responsiveness is toe tier and the eclipse plate provides unparalleled energy return. I've tried the WOW 10's but not any of the other overseas brands. Nothing Nike, Adidas, or UA/CURRY has come out with since the 36's have been released have come even close to performing as well. Even the traction is top tier. Perhaps the profit margin was not high enough for a shoe with all that tech in it so they haven't made anything comparable since. Let me know what you think if you try them.

For me, as a size 13, I have no choice. The toe box will break in. You don’t want to have too much space otherwise your foot will slide around and that’s no good.

These could be the most comfortable shoes on earth and still wouldn't buy them. Just too plain and what I would call lazily designed. It's just an AF1 looking shoe which for me is so overrated and blah.

its widely known that booker wanted it to look simple, casual wear friendly and that the design took a lot of inspiration from af1. i dont think its lazily designed but rather the designers took to heart what was in booker's mind. im old amd i dont play a lot pf basketball anymore so yeah i would wear this so im stil be sort of hoopin in the office.
