Just trying my pair on for the first time and totally agree with you on the shape of the toe box - much better than the GP Turbo (which tended to compress my small toes due to the taper of the toe box). That said, they also initially feel a tad longer than the GP Turbo as a result. Did you find that to be the case playing in them (I am holding off doing that until I see your performance review in case I choose to return these). Would you suggest buying your true size in this shoe or sizing down a 1/2 size? How do you find the LOCK DOWN and INTERNAL FIT in general on the Zoom NXT after spending some time in them?

Finally got to try these shoes - I've also worn the Nike GP Turbo, Vapor 9.5, Vapor X, Air Zoom Vapor Pro and Asics Court FF2. My initial impression after wearing the Court Zoom NXT for the first time: - I bought half a size down and they fit my feet snug - Heel seems quite high off the ground initially when I walked with these shoes - Toe box area was more comfortable than GP Turbo - These shoes definitely felt less cushioned / plush than any of the Nike shoes I've worn before, even the Vapor X had more cushioning than these. GP Turbo was like walking on air whereas these shoes felt firm. I could definitely feel the hardness of the hard court surface, however it's not painful for me (yet) - I didn't like back of the shoes - not enough cushioning or support near the ankle area, and not enough rubber support at the back of the heel area in the sole (the sole curves up too much at the rear of the shoes) - Agree with Zach's comment this is not a good shoe for people with heel pain, or wide feet

Sabalenka was fiddling with her socks in the final of the Madrid Open. The heel in these shoes is the weak point. Unlike the GP Turbo, the shoe doesn’t secure the heel comfortably. It also looked like she had installed heel pads in hers, as I have also done, with middling results. In her case, the movement of the heel was dragging her sock down into the shoe, so at changeovers she was fixing it. I wish Nike would take a more incremental approach to making their shoes. They threw the baby out with the bathwater.

I am usually Nike through and through, but I've had the vapor cage 4's and the GP Turbo's and both have given me pretty bad blisters on the outside of my big toe's on both feet. Tried the solecourt's but my heel slips out of them in the 12 and they feel too tight in the 11.5. Just ordered some lotto raptors. Hoping those finally are the right fit for me. Your videos have been super helpful!

This is the channel I've been looking for! However, I'm torn between what tennis shoes to get. I've been a lifelong Nike user and my favorites have included the Courtballistec 4.3, Lunar Ballistec, and Cage 3. I've been using the Vapor X for a few months and honestly I'm not a fan. They were uncomfortable from the beginning and even after break in, they're still not the most comfortable shoe when playing for a few hours. I have a flatter foot, and also feel some pain in my midfoot / some slight shin splints but I attribute that from the lower-to-the-ground feel and less support. Originally I thought about the Vapor NXT but am torn after seeing your reviews for the GP Turbo and Vapor Cage 4. I'm not a big person (5' 7" and 155-160 pounds, much stronger legs than upper body) and pretty fast so I thought the GP Turbo might be too thick since I am a lighter mover, but would you say that it's still a good choice? I thought the thin tongue of the Vapor NXT might not be as big of an issue because I am lighter, as long as the cushioning and support are good for flat feet / can get rid of the shin splints I'm feeling with my current Vapor X. Yeah for sure not a carbon copy - usually a couple years - the GP turbo is mostly pebax and zoom so if you keep them in a temp stable place the zoom should be fine but every shoe is different

Ahh thanks for the info. Pretty strange that Rafa doesn’t wear his signature shoe. You wouldn’t see that with basketball players. Not a very good endorsement of their product and shows you how much of new design is just marketing to sell more shoes. I’m playing in cage 4’s on hardcore and they last about 2 or 3 months before the rubber sole under the big toe wears through.

U listed medium, narrow but mentioned wide as well… To me the shape of the sole puts me off and makes me think they wouldn’t suit a wider foot, but I so hope I’m wrong! I recently got a pair of basketball shoes as a gift but the middle of the sole of the shoe is pretty thin so when I put them on the middle of the inner part of my foot (around where my arch is?) is hovering above nothing it seems like my foot is overflowing the middle of the shoe. Would it be harmful at all for me to play basketball in them?

Used to play in the GR8s and gave up, too. If you are looking for something with similar stability and comfort, I might suggest you add the following to your short list from Zach's Top Shoe List: Diadora Blushield 5; Adidas Solecourt Boost; and my favorite the Lotto Raptor Hypertpulse 100. All are better combinations of comfort and stability IMO.

Time for the DPM to use his expertise more. As a DPM he can discuss pathological conditions and appropriate shoes that might accomodate a spercific condition.

That’s unfortunately beyond the scope of the channel- specific things like that require an exam to determine foot type and compatible shoes- danger of giving really bad advice
