This is an amazing review really helped me on deciding form my speed workouts

Thank you for posting this. You've answered a very important question at least for me. I am a much older runner. About to turn 70 and did not start running until I was 64. I hate long distances but love sprinting. Totally weird. I compete (tracks only) at distances between 100 and 1500 meters. My sweet spot seems to be the 800. I have been competing in the 800 in those exact Floatrides you were using there -- they are comfortable and fast -- I think they're only about 4 ounces. But I know from the 100s and 200s that spikes, any spikes, are quicker. They are, but also incredibly uncomfortable. Two days ago I bit the bullet and purchased a pair of Dragonflys. Here's my guess with what I'll find competing in the Dragonflys -- I'll pick up about 4 to 5 seconds over 800 meters. If so they would be well worth it. I suspect the the gained time with the spikes is in large part due to their ability to hold onto some of the speed through the turns. If they are comfortable at all they would be worth their weight in gold (and that's about what they cost!). We seem to have invested a similar amount in shoes.

Update -- I do pick up right around 3 sec. over 800 meters. Not mind blowing, but worth it for me.

Great video! Looking forward to trying my Dragonflys when they arrive. Cant believe you didnt destroy your Achilles in the Dragonfly 5000m! :)

Great vid and love the comparison data! 'Legalities' aside, would you say the Dragonfly would net a faster 5000m time than the Next % 2? I ran 17:35 last month in the Next% 2 and have another 5000m in September. I'm currently in ~17:15 shape and am wondering if the Dragonfly would help me to extract more performance? It's a local inter-club race so I'm able to wear the Vaporfly if I wish...would appreciate your thoughts 👍

Before racing, You need to do many training sessions with new shoes. Recently myself got Dragonfly, they are much more forgiving than other spikes. They feel like flats, but much lighter.

Thx for the review :-) The dragon fly is from the product line 'Track and Field', what is your opinion, can the dragonfly be used on the field (cross country)? I am looking for a good set of spikes what I can use for both.

I don't know as I haven't tried them fo that... but look at what the leaders in US College XC are using. They will have foudn what's best - I'd go with whatever they use!

Nah they’re for track. Track spikes get ruined in XC. At least all my friends’ track spikes have

15-16min for a 5k is some clip 👏 nice vid. I've got mcr half on Sunday. Going for 80mins. Would you recommend alpha or vapor. I haven't raced in my alphas yet and they're wasting away a bit gathering dust. :/

Alphas

Hello, is it possible to use then without spikes on asphalt?
@anthonyhatswell8932 жыл бұрын
Nope - it's a hard bottom and would slip - what you are looking for is the Streakfly!

i would say either the nike air zoom victory, if you are a forefoot striker, or the diragonfly if you are a middle foot striker.
