I been playing with these for 4 months already. They essentially are like a sprinting / Running / Basketball shoe in one. Lets me have a lot of freedom, more movement to make runs, cuts, and off balance movement.

My humble opinion, drop in midsole is good for me. I've got Converse Pro BB in which it is React drop in midsole, it doesn't hurt my aging feet and knees when hooping.

I am a point guard and shifty player, I haven’t tried them on the court but just tried them on after trying the lebron 21, straight away no hesitation I took the shoes. The feel that you said is on point. I am more comfortable with this shoes rather than the other shoes that moves as a unit. Thank you for a very good insight and thorough review doc!! I played in about 3 to 4 pairs of kobe 8s over the years and these seem to be a different take on them "not in a bad way". We're the kobes had an amazing lightweight system that was balance with great lockdown. These look lil heavy in the back but probably a good thing for more heel support, I'm sure once broken in these will play great.

I just played in these for the first time today. I’m used to playing in PG6 and Adidas Son of Chi. Well I do find PG6 more comfortable, but these feel a little less bulky and faster though with less court feel but for me totally worth it. Hopefully over time these get a bit more comfortable as I feel that thing in the midsole which for me is annoying when off the court. For sure my 40+ year old legs and knees are thanking me because the cushioning on this is helpful for those areas and today I am not sore in the slightest after 2 hours of basketball. That’s gotta be a first . One thing I really liked about this was I felt faster. Definitely faster than Adidas son of chi 2.0 . I can’t compare directly to PG6 because they are not with me right now, but from memory I think these are faster. The review is correct, these give you more freedom but it’s at the expense of ankle stability. Definitely I feel my ankle more exposed in this 100%. Maybe with ankle brace these will be all the benefits without the risks
@FootDoctorZach Жыл бұрын
Wouldn't an ankle brace defeat the purpose of them though? Just my 2 cents
@Airavida Жыл бұрын
@@FootDoctorZach it depends...for me these are great for impact protection, if i add ankle braces, i get ankle protection too. I am not that shifty a player so i don't mind losing that advantage seeing as i don't have the skills for that anyway. I am more of a runner on the court, and i was running much more with these

One of the best shoes I’ve ever worn up until the sock lining ripped on both after less than a month. in fact the left shoe sock liner started ripping after first use. that’s not even the worst part, I sprained my ankle hard in these while driving to the hoop, I didn’t step on anyone’s foot, and it was a normal drive, the shoes just easily tipped over.

Hey Doc, I was considering getting a pair of these for outdoor play due to the combination of ample cushioning and durable outsole. I play an aggressive style as a heavier guard and my legs have been hurting on my hard outdoor court with more minimal guard-style shoes. I was surprised that you described this shoe as bad for players with a variety of foot and leg pains. I thought that more cushion meant more leg relief. I wonder if you could elaborate on this point or recommend another shoe for a player of my style suffering from shin splints and general leg soreness. I was thinking these might be it!

I have the peak flash 4 and not pleased. The cushion of course is good....slightly better in the peak big triangle.... The flash 4 suffers from a stiff uppers...lacks the plush fit of the flash 1...lots of heel slip...had to change the laces it came with to a round lace and that helped. When on foot it plays ok...not as fluid as the peak triangle though.

I've got some old Kobe 11 ALTs and they're still the best shoe I own. Sure they might make my feet bleed and give me blisters if I play more than an hour or two in them... but for that hour or two I become the white mamba and nobody can touch me. They just feel like an extension of my body and let me execute all my moves at their highest level. Maybe its because my name is Kobe and he's my favorite athlete to ever live though 🤷♂️

Sooo.. I have 3 pairs of this shoe, bc they look great and thought i'd really enjoy it for walking. I was right at the beginning. It almost feels like there is no heel after 1 month. The back arrows, bc there is no strong herringbone pattern vanish out of nowhere. So I decided to use it for indoor basketball 2day. I was excited. Super cool Nike shoe with tremendous front herringbone pattern. Thought I was going to fly 2day on the hardwood. Mmmmm... Nop.. The lack of tread in the back half made me slip and fall anticipating a rebound. Like slipping over a banana peel. Literally. I got up fine though. The front half feels great, the back half might in the future injure me. It's weird this shoe, almost feels like there is no heel, with a back to front incline, ... So I don't know? This could be similar to the Tatum shoe which also has just foam in the back. I won't use these every time to play, only when I want a good footwork challenge, so that's my review with this shoe. Kinda heavy too. But they look cool 😎

Is there heel slippage? That’s pretty much my main concern with Nike basketball sneakers nowadays. Every time I wear a Nike sneaker there’s heel slippage, and that brings back my Achilles tendinitis. For example: the newest KDs, heel slippage.. but the curry flow 9s no heel slippage. The first GTs killed my Achilles as well! You’ve probably explained in the video already which I’m gonna keep watching, but I had to ask lol. Thanks again man, my favorite channel!
