Your lunchbox oven hack was genius. Been using it on every build I’ve done since you mentioned it a while back.

Always nice to see a craftsman perform their work. I'll sound like an old man yelling at the sky, but I just can't get into the colored ferrules. Black just seems cleaner to me, especially down by the ball. 🎉

Good choices. Color tribute to Tiger.. perfect!!! Those heads are hard to find in that condition.

I retired my Pro Combos in 2020 but still have them. After watching this build I might just put them back into play. Might go Aerotech or MMT. Thanks again for a great video 🎉🎉🎉

Very nice build, those iron heads look perfect like new. The Combo was a great idea from Nike and I've often wondered why other manufacturers don't make sets blending blade-like short irons that lead progressively to player type small cavity mid and full size cavity long irons where most golfers need more forgiveness.

Found some shafts for mines! Broke the shaft on my 9 iron, found 3 take offs in great condition on eBay, I still have them all and they play great

I most definitely remember these Nike irons when they first came out. '02 or '03, it's been awhile, lol. At that time , and I always say this, they were "designer" golf clubs much like Nike apparel, shoes. Very stylish, even the swoosh logo grips, lightweight steel shafts had a lot of writing not just a small shaft band. Looking at them lately those pro combo irons fit right in...nowdays. Excellent work!

I've built quite a few clubs. Never used shafting beads though. So far, so good. Great video, & great looking clubs!

I used to play those irons. I just picked up a set of VRII Pro’s blades 3-P for and they still have the stickers and price tags. Cost less than a new Wilson wedge. Poor man’s Tiger irons I guess 😊

No way! I am literally in the process of building the same clubs. I have the 100g shafts though and black and red grips (no grey) Love the ferrule choice though!

Really nice looking clubs. Were these club heads actually made by Nike or were they made by someone else? Cheers.

Hey AJ! Lovely build mate! What was the black zip up container you put the ferrules in and the club heads after fitting? Thanks…
@EFGMC2 ай бұрын
Amazon lunch box heater. Warms up the ferrules for easier install and then speeds up the cure time on the epoxy when the clubs hang out there for an hour.

That pitching wedge is like 49*. It’s crazy how lofts have changed.
@zahimiibrahim36022 ай бұрын
Lol. My PW is 48° and most player type irons haven't changed much but game improvement sets are crazy. My theory is lofts started getting stronger with the advent of launch monitors in golf retail outlets, people test hit 7 irons and think wow I hit that 15 yards further than my old 7 and they buy that.

Love your content. I have a set of these Nike Pro Combos in the basement collecting dust. Curious though, why did you use solvent instead of air for your grip install? Is the solvent method better for graphite shafts?
@EFGMC2 ай бұрын
Double sided tape and solvent works better with corded grips. The harder the grip the more it can slip with an air install.

Hey AJ, how long do you leave the ferrules in the lunch box? Any worries they will deform?
@EFGMCАй бұрын
These lunch box heaters are meant to heat plastic food containers so they don't get hot enough to melt any plastics. Just soften them a small amount. I usually put mine in to start heating about 5-7 minutes before assembly.

i have a set of nike vr2 TW edition full set of blades 3-pw if you want to make a video about em. been wanting to polish them all up. they need work. shafts are starting to rust from sitting in my dads garage. grips are junk and even the heads could get cleaned up a little. i have shafts that can do in them if you would want to go that route unless you can clean thoSe shafts up? not sure
