This is a pity party for a murderer, he lied by omission, and still does not get it. Edward White got 18 years on this earth, that's it. Not naming the victim in the book was total BS, he is a fraud and should not be celebrated. This sends the exact wrong message and you don't try, you do it. The man went to prison, got out, still hadn't learned an went in again! We can all say, "To Little To Late," but the fact of the matter is, he opened up to his daughter and the young man's family, an they all forgave him! They're decisions on what they decided to do matter, not your prognosis of how you felt he should have been treated or what was to you, according to your comment, "Pointless an Self-Serving In Revealing!" Wherever you grew up at this is a warning to millions of inner city, rural, an even affluent area kids who are YOUNG AN DUMB JUST LIKE I WAS, that violence no matter the reason, *Is Not The Answer* , an for some, not all, but for some it can have mental consequences that can last a lifetime! If he hadn't served time, expressed what he did to the victim's family, (Even if it was later than he should have, HE STILL DID, AN THEY MADE THE DECISION TO FORGIVE HIM), and even his being a part of setting up scholarships for the deceased's family members may not be enough either, BUT AT LEAST IT'S SOMETHING!!! I'm not necessarily in agreement with the timing of his confession or the disrespect showed for not mentioning the name of the victim in his book, but to a degree, I understand why he kept the name out. BUT AGAIN, WHO AM I❓ I don't count, but the family's decision does. That's all that matters.

Again......he did his time. The White family talked to him & then FORGAVE him. Again....if the White family FORGAVE him, doesn't matter what y'all feel. I appreciate that Larry Miller was able to tell his story and seek forgiveness. I just hope he does more to do restore justice to the family. It should be more than scholarships, but also financial restitution to the family. When Miller took David White’s life, he took away the breadwinner and father of that young family, and they struggled for years, according to the NYT article. It’s also a shame that Miller had to hide his past in order to utilize the education he earned while in prison. I guess I will have to read his book to see how he could have achieved in an area where other formerly incarcerated people struggle. He managed to have a fruitful career. That is the biggest miracle to me. I just hope he does more for that family than a scholarship.

Larry Miller is a very wealthy man. The young man he murdered, David White, had a 9 month old daughter when he murdered him. Larry Miller murdered a man in cold blood that he didn't even know, and then got to live his adulthood almost entirely outside of prison, and becoming hugely rich and successful. If Mr. Miller wants to show he truly understands the depth of how unfair the story of his life has been vs. the life and family he destroyed, he would give 50% of his net worth to the White Family, in particular, Mr.White's daughter. Instead of feeling sorry for himself about the stress that "being found out" put HIM under, feel sorry for the little girl who grew up without a dad because of his evil actions. And that starts with giving her and her family the same financial comfort he has enjoyed by not mentioning his past as a murderer. If he wants forgiven because that action took place when he was a boy, then atone by taking on the financial sacrifice of a MAN.
