I was In Georgia an Armenia a weak ago for the first time for a vacation. Most people thought I was from Russia starting talking to me in Russian. When I was telling them that I don't understand cause I'm German most people interacted with me way mor friendly. That was a somehow understandable but still quit disturbing sad experience from time to time

Oh you Germans… Ive experienced 3 full scale invasions of Russian military to my country. We have crazy hybrid war right now… and after all of that i can speak with some Russians and even be friends with them. It’s still not easy, because even Russians who are anti war, do not understand the context of being Russian in Georgia, from the Georgian perspective. You have Russian tourists(most of whom don't care what their country is doing, unless they are somehow personally negatively affected), Russian political refugees .. and in a couple of dozen kilometers theres a Russian military base, occupying 20% of our country and not letting people live in their homes, as you can imagine having Russia as an enemy also stalls the economic investments, we live next to a crazy Bear and thanks to Germany we are never allowed to join NATO, so Georgia and Ukraine remain very vulnerable. Try to comprehend that.

I think the most respect you can show to the people of a country hosting you is to spend as much effort as possible in learning their native language and talk to them in that language. If it’s not enough for a deeper conversation (if necessary) you can still switch to a different jointly spoken language you both agree on. However, you should always try to continue speaking their language if you know the respective words. It’s a win win situation. People feel much more respected and comfortable in the conversation and you feel much more integrated after a while 🙂 Speaking from my own experience living abroad and from the expectations I have to people from abroad living in my country 😊

We are both retired, she from medicine (Ob/gyn) and me from computer software and hardware design. We live in New Jersey, United States of A. Good to see you and Natasha together. I’ve been following Natasha for a couple years, since she was still studying at her university. She sometimes spoke of moving from Russia but when Russia invaded Ukraine, I felt quite anxious for her safety. She didn’t leave right away and I was afraid she would get arrested before she could leave. I was very relieved when she finally got out. And you, also, Niki. You remained in Russia even longer and I was thinking, this guy is either very brave and or very foolish. Fortunately, it appears now you knew what you were doing and were able to leave on your own schedule. It’s going to be interesting to follow you both now to see what lives you make for yourselves outside your homeland. Best to you both!

Why do people continue to argue Russia invaded Ukraine,as it is a bad thing? It is no different from the USA invading Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and now considering Haiti. They are equally as bad! Something about the pot calling the kettle black, or spotting a splinter in another but failing to recognise the tree trunk in themselves!

I really enjoy this video. This interview was so 'spot on' for stating what all people need to be happy in life; freedom and financial security. Without these things life is a struggle, stressful and ruins your health. I am so happy that both of you found these things in your life. I also admire both of you for being able to first recognize an unhealth and unsafe situation in your lives and making a big change to find a better place where you could find peace, serenity and happiness. It does help that you found something to give you financial security, as well. Seeing such courage in young people gives me hope for the future.

Thank you Niki and Natasha so much for sharing your insights and feelings. How much the world and people have changed from when a few hundred of us joined you and Natasha on this journey. When you say "My home is no longer my home" it resonates with millions around the world and even quite strongly with millions of Americans and Europeans. Some years ago, I had planed to return to Asia which always felt more like home than the current place I reside that never felt like home, but after Viral events, Tbilisi and Turkey seemed like the only best options, but after "Special Operations" I all but clicked Tbilisi off the option list. Your insights into Tbilisi are of much value to people who no longer have a home is no longer an option. As for the graffiti, I am reminded of weaponized graffiti in before the Portland riots in America. It appeared suddenly and everywhere, as production propaganda totally unrepresentative of the sentiments of the people, and I wonder if what you see in Tbilisi is more a non-Georgian product? I just head a very popular and respected humanitarian compare building muscle to building the mind and spirit, and "that the more resistance and the more pain there is, the more it grows". To that I might add, only if you don't resent the resistance and pain, and those who inflect it on you. Best wishes to you and everyone in their new or future homes.

Prices on restaurants, food, transportation and housing has skyrocketed. More hardship for the locals. Everybody knows why. Hi Niki. I watched Natasha's vlog when she went on training. I told her where everyone I follow is. You, Zack, Dari, etc. is. I will really like for her to further her studies in America. Dari can give her a lot of advice and Zack can give her tips on raising enough money. You? I see you as a traveller. You learn the language where ever you go. You can do with formal study on languages and work as a interpreter. There is another couple who moved into an apartment in Georgia now. Not the centre of the city, a bit on the outskirts where it's not so expensive. They had to babysit her friend's cat and they stayed there for a long time. They bought a house outside the city. She stayed at the apartment with the kids and he drove to the house to do renovations. They're a lovely couple, raising their kids with love. Her husband is a minister at the church.

What's true to you doesn't have to be true to others. Everyone has different values. I'm happy when I'm comfortable by myself, without worries like money or sickness or mental health struggles. With little things like a good book and a cup of coffee. Who says that is not true happiness when you wake up and feel life is great? If she feels good that is true happiness for her.

Hi Niki, good to see you and Natasha in a video together in Georgia. Last time I watched her channel she had just moved to Georgia was pretty stressed and anxious. Great to see her more settled and happy. I really like her outlook on life. As a senior person, I have found that I have become happier/more content for the fact that my needs are met and I don't look for much more in terms of material things. Getting out in nature, experiencing new places and things, and interacting people are also things that bring me happiness.
